I received this as a Christmas gift from Vat19.com (for less than half the Amazon price, which is nuts, at 4.99), and I decided to pop some before the day was out. I am eating some as I write this review.

While the bag does smell strongly of bacon (there is no plastic or smokey (more than usual) odor from mine) before and after popping, the popcorn itself is lackluster at best in flavor. There is no discernable bacon flavor. The popcorn is delicious, but it's not what I wanted. I wanted novelty bacon-flavored popcorn, and what I got was just good, not-very-salty popcorn. Honestly, it's kind of hard to tell WHAT it tastes like. There might be a slight hint of bacon to it, but if I focus on it too hard it vanishes.

Overall, as a popcorn it gets five stars. As a bacon-flavored product it fails miserably, and I doubt I'll ever try any of this company's other bacon products again.

Oh, I'm at the bottom of the bag now. There's only a little more flavor there, but just on a few pieces. At least I now know what it was probably SUPPOSED to taste like. Still doesn't taste like-

OH! now I know what it tastes like! It tastes like your fingers after eating bacon, but not bacon itself.

Anyway, don't waste your hard-earned bacon on this corny product.

I just received my bacon pop and had to try it out. I read some of the other reviews that complained about the bad odor. Sorry, either my nose is out of order or some folks were expecting the smell of roses or something...I didn't find the smell offensive at all...it's bacon pop for goodness sake.

I believe bacon pop is more of a novelty item and just didn't find it particularly bacon tasty...to me, it's an over priced popcorn straight up. It's definitely not a premium popcorn because the popped kernals were pretty small. I would rather buy a premium well known brand and season it with my favorite flavor of JD's Bacon Salt. I definitely won't be recommending it to family, friends, dogs or even my worst enemy.

The trick is to cook it just right or even undercook it ;)

I burnt my first bag which fried the flavor. I cooked the second bag just right and it was awesome! I underdid the last bag and it was incredible! I'm usually a salt and butter fiend, but this popcorn is so good that it doesn't need any extras! Really great impulse buy! I plan on sending some to my dad. I can't wait to try the brand's other flavors :)

When I got it, I was excited because I am a HUGE fan of bacon and popcorn. But when I put it in the microwave it smelled like a dog treat. And when I ate some I didn't like the taste, but maybe someone else would like it. Everyones taste buds are different lol

"Expired" when received, almost a year to date.. picture of box/date attached. Husband and I agree it doesn't have a bacon flavor. Maybe because it's expired? Anyway, it doesn't taste bad, BUT... still not very happy that I paid for a product that was essentially expired.

I was very excited when my Bacon Pop arrived, I had ordered two boxes, both of which were mostly crushed, because the boxes were shipped in a bag. And for the price I payed for shipping I was expecting at least a cardboard box. But whatever, I open up the box and take out the popcorn, put it in, and start the microwave. After around a minute or so the aroma of the popcorn had filled the house, except it wasn't a good smell. It smelled extremely fake, and I was actually disgusted with it. The whole house ended up smelling like this for two days. When I tried the popcorn, I was unimpressed. It smelled very fake, and barely tasted like bacon, it more or less just smelled like fake bacon. I only had one bag, so I have five more sitting around that I don't plan on eating because its just that bad..

Extremely disappointed..... we have ordered this in the past and it was great. We ordered 2 boxes on April 13, 2018 and they arrived with an expiration date of April 11, 2017. Completely shocked that this could be overlooked. If the seller corrects this issue I will fix my ratings accordingly.....

I bought this for one of my grandchildren to give to my son for Father's Day. It did have a rather bacon-like flavor, although no bacon or pork or lard was used. My son really liked it.
