I love photography and when I saw this item reported on a gadget blog I knew I had to have it, especially since it's supposed to be a replica of the Canon 7D, which is the camera I shoot with.
The crystal camera is well made and is very detailed, with etching to representing various buttons and dials. The lens, handgrip, viewfinder, rear screen, and a couple of knobs are made of separate pieces of crystal and are glued to the main body. Assembly quality is high and none of the pieces are loose or crooked.
The crystal camera is quite heavy and would make a great paperweight or bookend (only one comes per order). I just display mine on a shelf.
All in all..a great item for the photography fan who has everything.
Arrived chipped due to poor packaging

The camera arrived in very flimsy packaging. Think a very thin cardboard box with no padding on the top of the camera, which was where it was chipped. This was a gift, and I was embarrassed to give it, but there wasn't time to send it back and have a new one shipped. It's a shame, because were it not for the chipping, I'd have given this product 5 stars. The details are numerous and true to the real deal, and the camera is nice and heavy. Just a gorgeous paperweight, or bookend, or shelf decoration. Too bad about the poor padding; I'd been planning to buy one for myself, but not after that experience.
Beautiful replica, minor issues noted

First let me say this is a beautiful piece of glass. I was extremely impressed with the design and the feel of it. It is truly a stunning piece of art.
With that said, there were two minor issues to note and I have included pictures in the photo description. First, the top of the inner box was a little bit scratched up from the top of the camera, the hot shoe mount replica at the top of the camera (see pic).
Second, There was a black artifact where the lens would connect to the camera (see pic).
Other than that, this was a beauty. I bought it as a gift and I highly recommend it for any photographer as a keepsake.

The camera was purchased as a high school momento for a beloved girl who aspires to become a professional photographer. It can serve as a desk ornament, or paper weight, and proclaim to all who enter that she takes her trade seriously. She loves it!

Beautiful! My daughter is a photographer and we got this for her as a gift. Everyone loved it and wanted to know where we found it. The only disappointment was the display box. I had to hot glue the lining in place because it was not attached in several places. The crystal camera is worth the money, is beautiful, makes a great gift, and conversation piece.

I have a friend who is very difficult to buy for, but each year I endeavor to find something special, which isn't easy because our tastes are pretty much polar opposites. Still it is very important to me that when purchasing a gift, it should be what the recipient would want, not what the sender would want (unless of course, they should happen to agree). Sure a gift card is great, but it is also impersonal, and far too convenient. And it usually only garners the obligatory "thanks." And while heart felt I'm sure, it is absent that "Wow" factor that only unwrapping and finding an unexpected treasure inside can ever hope to produce.
My friend is an avid photographer, which unfortunately I know nothing about. So I was already headed into this with strikes against me. After googling multiple searches for photography related/themed gifts, I kept coming up with suggestions that were add-on's to existing camera equipment, zoom lenses and filters, tripods and lighting meters, none of which were options because not only didn't I know what type of camera she used, I also didn't know if she already owned any of these items. But just when I was about to give up, I stumbled upon this item: the crystal camera. It looked beautiful from the pictures and the majority of the reviews were very positive too, but I wasn't sold yet.
At first I was concerned that it's claim of mirroring many of the details of the real camera with etchings and such would prove to be just that - a claim. I mean how was I to know, not being the photographer that my friend is? I have to admit that I hesitated, and even went back to searching, only to find many other lists who were also recommending this very same crystal. If you do a search yourself, you'll find many top 20, and even top 10 photography gifts where this item is touted as being beautiful, stunning, and a sure fire hit, whether being bought as a gift, or simply for your own enjoyment.
The next criteria for me was price and I soon found that Amazon, even beyond eBay and several other dealers, easily offered the lowest. So finally I bit the bullet and bought it, while I waited nervously for my friend's reaction. My friend lives in Tennessee and I in California, and the item was delivered in tact with no damage, after only two days. This morning I heard from her and she had nothing but high praise for the gift. She loved it! We've exchanged many gifts over the years and this was by far the happiest reaction I've ever heard her give a gift. She said, and I quote: "It is absolutely beautiful!!!" "I think it's one of the best presents ever. I've never seen anything like it. I love it!"
All of which was music to my ears. If you're like me, someone who gets a bigger kick out of giving gifts than receiving them, this item is definitely for the photography enthusiast in your life. You will not be disappointed, I promise. This was such a great experience, like finding the elusive needle in a haystack, and I am so glad I bought it for her that I am planning to buy one for myself. And everyday it will remind me of how happy she was to receive it, and how taking a little extra time and effort to find a present that personifies the person it is intended for can make all the difference. I give this product my highest approval and recommendation!

Saw it an had to buy it! A really beautiful piece of art in glass. Every detail the real camera has is shown on this glass replica. I highly recomend it for a camera buff as a present. Specially if the person already has a Canon EOS 7D with zoom lens.
