Very cool gift idea. I didn't realize how useful they would be!by CM (5 out of 5 stars)

These are very cool ice cubes! They work exactly as described and are really neat looking. You have to put them in the freezer for a solid 5 hours before they'll really do the job, but they work so well and are so much more convenient than ice cube trays that I would recommend them to anyone. I bought these as a gift for my roommate (he is a root beer aficionado) and he is stoked on them. He chills a glass mug in the freezer and then puts these in the mug with the root beer. The result is that the bottom of the mug becomes so cold that it starts to freeze the drink and then flakes of frozen root beer float up to the super-chilled top where you drink them. It is by far the best drinking experience I have ever had, if that makes sense.
And if that doesn't do it for you, just know that everyone will be jealous of your ice cubes that are reflective and sink to the bottom of your glass, rather than inconveniencing your mouth when your trying to drink by getting in the way of your lips, like regular ice cubes do. Seriously, they're cool.
Chrome Ice Cubes

The person, whom I gave this set of Stainless Steel Chrome Drink Chillers, loved the look of these items! And I also gave them a set of silver rimmed whiskey drinking glasses (like those seen on the TV series Mad Men) which looked really cool paired together with these chrome ice cubes! Not only do they look good but they actually work well, chilling the drink and looking quite modernistic at the same time!

LOVE them, but pretty expensive for the number of cubes. Ordered more for gifts. Recommend them. Like that it comes in a storage glass with cover

They get very cold, but lose temp quickly. Two of these won't keep a small glass of white wine cold more than 5 minutes.
No cold drink here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Test Results of the Cubes
by A Person With An Opinion (5 out of 5 stars)
February 18, 2013
The test conducted with two identical glasses, which can hold 8.5 ouches of liquid. Both glasses were filled with 5.5 oz. of tap water. The temperature was taken, and the water in both glasses was 63 degrees. The frozen cubes, which were frozen overnight approximately 12 hours, were placed in one of the glasses. The temperature was continually taken for the next few minutes, and the glass without cubes was at 65 degrees and the glass with cubes dropped to 36 degrees (27 degrees colder than originally). At the 10 minute mark, cubes were frozen together, and the water was 40 degrees (the water without cubes was 66 degrees). At the 15 minutes mark, the cubed water was 40 degrees, and the other was 66 degrees (26 degrees colder). At the 30 minute mark, the cubed water was 42 degrees, and the other was 67 degrees (25 degrees colder). At the 45 minute mark, the cubed water was 44 degrees, the other was 68 degrees (24 degrees colder). I would image that after an hour that it would 46 degrees, and it might still be around 50 degrees after an hour and half. As far as I am concerned, the cubes are as good as advertised and do the job that the manufacture intended.
On the good side, they do not dilute your drink

They do not stay cold very long, even when the drinks put in the cup or glass are very cold too.
On the good side, they do not dilute your drink, a common problem with ice cubes.
