Very poor quality manufacture and printing
by Karan Suraj (1 out of 5 stars)

I am very disappointed with the quality of these coasters and expected much better. The coasters should very clearly be white but more than half of them have a slight yellow-ish coloration and there is a LOT of yellow discoloration on the edges of some coasters, as if an excessive amount of some glazing element was dripping down the edge when it dried on the porcelain. Some of this yellow stain even colored the packaging a bit yellow. In addition to this, the coasters seem to have a poor quality print on them with spottiness. I'm returning this as soon as I get the chance, which is really disappointing because of how much I wanted these.

These ceramic tile coasters are fantastic. They are large enough to fit most
by N00basaurus (5 out of 5 stars)

These ceramic tile coasters are fantastic. They are large enough to fit most, if not all, beverage containers, plus are nice soft cork bottomed, to preserve even the most dainty of tables.

The portal theme makes them quite the conversation piece, even if your guests are not of the gamer ilk.

I did find a few very slight errors in the glaze, causing chips in the ink or strange bubbles here and there, but it's not really that noticeable.

I did like that they are packaged with a slip of wax paper in between each tile to prevent the ink from being scratched during shipping, very nice.

The set includes the black wooden holder. The holder itself is a little fragile, but it's enough to hold onto the unused coasters.

I like them quite a lot.

Cute & Useful - Okay Quality
by The Darlings (4 out of 5 stars)

Putting the Portal warning signs on coasters is a great idea, a fun way to showcase your nerdiness while also being useful. The coaster is ceramic with a thin cork bottom. It does not slip on surfaces and the set arrived without any chips or dings. Our only disappointment was that the images have a bit of ink bleeding/smudging, which takes away from the "this is a crisp artifact from a scarily modern test facility where no faults are accepted" vibe of the game. But the bleeding/smudging isn't egregious, the picture is still legible and immediately recognizable as being from Portal.

Pleased With the Coasters
by JD (4 out of 5 stars)
October 23, 2012

I received these the other day and am very please. Other reviews note that they are lightweight and stick to the bottom of glasses, that has not been my experience so far. (And I live in a very humid climate) There is minor paint chipping on the edges and the printing is slightly blurry. It's annoying but not a deal-breaker. As coasters go they're relatively hefty. They're made from what look and feel like square bathroom tiles with cork on the bottom. The holder that comes with them is made of thick black plastic and looks nice on the table. Overall I purchased them for the look and the fun Portal reference. The price isn't ideal nor is the quality, but I'm satisfied enough and mostly they're just a lot of fun.

Perfect. Makes me want to go play Portal 2 again!
by Voyn238 (5 out of 5 stars)

I was looking for two sets of 4 coasters each, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. Then I saw this set of 8, and it's absolutely perfect for me. They're not exorbitantly priced, either. Each coaster is 3 5/8" square, and looks pretty much like a standard bathroom tile. The bottom has a nice soft thin layer of cork to prevent it scratching any tables, and the top and sides have a nice shiny glaze. Coffee ring stains and such just wipe right off.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL
by Emily Arvidson (1 out of 5 stars)

These CERAMIC coasters arrived in a box with no protection, and the box inside was also just totally beaten up. When we opened the coasters, the top one was cracked and the second one was scratched. Not only that, but the images were blurry. I'm blaming this on just poor materials. We took them out to see if we could fix it and the coaster holder almost fell apart. The sides are wobbly and we are afraid to even use it considering it would fall apart at a slight breeze. More cheap parts. These were a gift and were supposed to leave for Arizona tomorrow to get there by Christmas Eve. Looks like we have to find something else. Steer clear, guys.

Awesome Coasters
by Kamel (5 out of 5 stars)

Coasters appear to be made out of a tile material. The printing is pretty decent and haven't had any issues with it wearing off or anything like that yet. The bottom has a full coverage of cork, so it does well to protect surfaces and no issues with a "rubber foot" falling off like on other coasters I've had. The black crate thing they come in is just a tad flimsy when there are no coasters in it. I don't think it's anything to be concerned about though.

Really a great novelty item for the living room, people who get it love it. People who don't get it don't say anything lol

The Coolest Coasters
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)
May 7, 2015

Bought these as a Christmas Gift to my boyfriend, as we are both lovers of Portal, and he was so excited to receive them! Each has a different "warning sign", all of which are Portal-tastic. Very sturdy, though they do tend to stick to glasses when the condensation is high. We have dropped them a couple times with no harm. Would definitely recommend if you are decorating your place of living with nerdly propaganda.

Great looking, a bit impractical
by Fireboy (4 out of 5 stars)

I bought these because I love portal, and I think they look really cute.

However, they're made of porcelain, which means that any liquid or condensation from the glass immediately rolls off of them and drips onto the table anyway. So they're not useful as coasters, even though they are cute. I have gone back to my boring sandstone coasters, because they actually do a good job of protecting the table from water.

These are now in my office as decorative but non-functional toys.

Cute but...
by Lauren (3 out of 5 stars)

I love Portal so I had to get these coasters. They are cute but a few of the coasters have bubbles or bumps where the decal was applied. Also the stand is loose on either side. Expected better quality for the price I paid at the time.
