Cute sandwich cutterby cree (4 out of 5 stars)

This works well for its intended purpose. It easily cuts through the sandwich. I haven't tried PB&J, but I have done turkey with mayo and mustard and had no problem with the contents squishing out. This by no means uses an entire slice of bread. Probably just over 2/3. Not a huge deal...I just put the rest on the plate too. Or use star cutters to cut additional shapes out of the remaining sandwich pieces. Or use this multiple times on one sandwich. It's not a necessary food tool by any means, but it makes a cute little bite sized mini-sandwich and my kids find it entertaining.
Our current favorite is "peanut butter dippers" which helps solve the squishing jelly problem some people have had. We put butter and peanut butter on bread and use this tool to create the squares. Then the kids tip the bit sized pieces into jelly or honey, or just eat them plain. It's one of their favorite lunches! They love the interactive nature. And it totally solves the lunch box dilemma of a soggy sandwich by lunch time! We put Jelly in one compartment of a lunch box and the dippers in another. It's been such a great use of this tool!
I couldn't really envision this before I bought it, so hopefully the attached pictures will help! Easy to dishwasher clean too. We've had this for many months and it still works as well as the day we got it. It shows no signs of wear even after repeated dishwasher washings.
These are awesome. Wish they were larger!

Ok so first off I have to confess. I kept cutting my thumb on a knife every single time I would try and cut up my son's bagel. ... This does the job well except that it is small so I still have to cut the bagel in half before using. (So technically 4 sections of bagel) The thing you are supposed to push through to get the food out wouldn't work because I put cream cheese on his bagel first and it would make a mess so I just push the pieces out in the opposite direction from the bottom with my finger. The thing isn't very sharp so no injuries for me. The pusher part is a little challenging to get through the device anyways. That being said the squares are the perfect size for my 18 month old and it does seem to "cut through" very cleanly. I think people don't realize you don't just push down on the thing but you are supposed to rock it back and forth. (I only know this because I saw it on Shark Tank) When you rock it back and forth it does a good job cutting through things and I haven't had any trouble with smushing unless it's something that has a lot of filling but I have the same problem when cutting those things with knives too. This is so much easier and way more even and I can't wait to make fun designs with it. (Once my son is old enough to appreciate them)
I just wish they would make these in a larger size so I could cut through more area with one go!!
We Really Wanted to Like This

My wife really wanted to get this to make things a little easier in getting a sandwich to our little one. We both tried it and on the first attempt, the sandwich was mangled and the PB & J squirted through the bread making a huge mess. I made another sandwich with a thin spread of PB & J, cleaned the cutter and tried again. This time more gently, but firm and again the PB & J poured through the bread. Maybe it's the bread we use (Safeway Select 15 grain) or maybe it's the cutter, but it just doesn't work for us. I'm sure it'll work great on a grilled cheese though, so maybe we'll make more of those.
Useful little tool for the kitchen

After reading a few reviews I wasn't sure if I would like this product but I was pleasantly surprised. It has made my life easier. Having a toddler that needs sandwiches cut up into little pieces this saves me time and I can sit and enjoy lunch with him or get something in the kitchen done. I have used this with a variety of breads. Some hints: When you use softer bread you need to rock it back and forth a little more to cut through the sandwich. Also using this on a flat hard surface works best. Since this only cuts 12 pieces and my toddler likes to eat and I don't want to waste the sides of the bread or the crust I use it 2x on a sandwich (see picture). I use it with some of the crust cut to the middle of the bread, then I place it on the same middle line and go to the other side of the crust...we get a lot more pieces of the sandwich, which is perfect for us. It cleans up nice even with sticky peanut butter on it. I would recommend this to anyone who has a little one that wants to eat their own little sandwich.
Just cut your sandwich "the old fashioned way"

Was really excited to purchase this...and was just as let down after only a few uses.
1) it doesn't cut right up to the crust, so about 1/2" all the way around gets wasted.
2) when you "rock and press" it pushes any filling through the bread. Ended up with PB & J or mayo squirting through the bread
3) the bites don't "pop out" as advertised. They stick to the press.
3) total pain to clean
We only use it to cut buttered toast for my 15 month old...and even then have to cut those bites smaller.
I don't recommend this product. Just cut your sandwich "the old fashioned way".
More Wasted money from a Shark Tank idea that Don't Work.

Saw this on TV, thought OK this will do well 4 Gkids by changing up cutting up there sandwiches. First off the insert pcs didn't fit into lower half, but it came together, so I noticed it CURVES ITSELF BACK CLOSER When u remove it. I made 2 sandwiches 4 GDaughter, WHAT A MESS, DID NOT EVEN ATTEMPT 2CUT THROUGH. had 2 Throw that food away. After washing, Very hard 2get food from Cracks, good thing I still had a Bottle brush, only thing that worked. Once put back 2gether if you turn over u will notice that because the insert/top pcs curves back in a "C" Once it in the pcs is not CENTERED IN CUTTING HOLES, they are Right against the sides of each square hole. There is NO Way IT CAN CUT INTO ANYTHING, SO IT JUST CRUSHES IT DOWN. Decent idea but way 2early 4 market. I threw away the wrapper so can't return, another TV item we get by then have 2 Throw away n say Never again...till next time. Save ur Money, these r Pure junk.
Great Product!

This food cutter is absolutely amazing!! My daughter loves her sandwiches cut into shapes and this makes for awesome little bites!! It also works really well to cut sandwiches or toast into tiny bites for my one year olds. They love toast and this makes my job a million times easier! Just make sure you have a small scrub brush or something to get into all the little holes! It made for a fun job trying to clean out the peanut butter by hand! That being said, I would still totally recommend this sandwich slicer to anyone looking for something like this!
It Works But....

Does it work? Yes. Does it have to be finagled? Yes. Do I question if this was the original design on Shark Tank? Yes. (There's no way it would have passed at the current state)
So, you make your sandwich and press. But do it hard so it cuts through. You will have to pull one side a little more to "open" the extruder piece, so you can actually push it through. I wonder if this is a safety feature not advertised? Would be nice to know.
Anyway, we got about 8-9 pieces from one sandwich. Our son loved it. I think this will work with grilled cheese and possibly pizzas, but I do wonder how meat would work. Hard cheeses would do well too.
I can't see lots of mayo or ranch on a sandwich working. I can see that being too slippery.
So yes, they do work! But it takes some work on your end.
Works well on some foods but not all

I like any product that saves me time, so the fact I can roll this over some food and it cuts a bunch of pieces all at once is appealing to me. This product is mainly for parents with picky eaters. The first time I used this product, I tried it on a big cinnamon roll & it worked! You just press the cutout over the food, rock back and forth, then press the solid piece through and boom...perfect little bite sized pieces. I expected it to just mash the bread but it didn't, as you can see in my photo. There are no blades on this item so you don't even have to worry about cuts. The downside to no blades is that it's not as sharp as I would like and it doesn't work well for ALL foods, which is why I took away a star. It's good for breaded products, cheese, some fruits, but doesn't work so well on something like a peanut butter and jelly.
Great idea but....

Okay, this is an excellent idea but poor design. I bought it for cutting my kids sandwiches for school. It destroys a peanut butter and jelly. Lol I get what the idea is but it's not sharp enough to cut through it without squashing it into a mess. I do plan to still use it as you can see in picture I managed but could definitely use improving.
****Edit***
I read some other reviews about pressing harder and rocking it annnd it worked much much better this time! So now it gets 5 stars! 😍
