It fits easily on my kitchen counter and when it is not ...by Meow Meow Kitten Pants (4 out of 5 stars)

I got my Eco-Egg because my small apartment has no washer or dryer hookups. I was looking for two things out of this product specifically- 1) compact size, and 2) ease of use. I loathe taking my clothes to the laundromat as it's often prohibitively expensive to do so and it rarely fits into my busy college and work schedule when I DO have the extra cash to clean all of my clothes.
Regarding the first of my criteria, COMPACT SIZE:
My apartment is very small. The amount of counter space near the sink (where the Eco-Egg is hooked up) as well as the amount of storage space throughout my home are both quite restricted. I needed a machine that would hold a decent load of laundry but would not take up much space. The Eco-Egg definitely hits the mark in this regard.
It was much larger in person than I had imagined based on the pictures, but once I had it put together and ready to run, I realized that it is actually surprisingly compact. It fits easily on my kitchen counter and when it is not in use, it can be stored elsewhere in my kitchen without being too obtrusive.
As for the second of my criteria, EASE OF USE:
I found the user's manual to be mostly unhelpful. There were no directions for how to assemble the machine (luckily, it was not difficult to figure out on my own) and the directions regarding use were just a little... off. They were not impossible to figure out (the machine is basically straightforward- hit ON, start a full cycle, leave machine alone, the end!) but they were not super helpful either. However, if we ignore the manual entirely, the machine itself is INSANELY EASY TO USE. I just dumped in a few small clothing items, added a tablespoon of detergent, and started the Egg up. It washed the load very quickly, and then even had a funnel attachment that I could add to keep water from dripping everywhere when I was wringing out the clothes.
The only thing that WAS NOT insanely easy to use was the water connection line-thing that attaches the egg to the sink. While it wasn't difficult to install, unhooking it for storage was trickier. I spilled water all over my floor before I realized that all the water had not been pumped out of the machine and tubes. Be careful disassembling for this reason!
As other reviews have noted, there is NO SPIN CYCLE, so clothes are very damp when they come out. Personally, I wring mine out as much as possible, and then hang them up to dry. Lightweight items like underwear and t-shirts dry in a few hours while heavier items like pants take much, much longer to air dry. My pants have been hanging for almost 24 hours now and are still a little damp, so make sure to wring clothes out thoroughly and to allow plenty of dry time (if you are air drying.)
I don't even care that some of my clothes are still damp the next day, though. They are much, MUCH cleaner than when I was hand washing them. They look and smell great! The Eco-Egg really washed them hard core! And it was surprisingly quiet as it did so.
Plus, at just over $100, I'm going to save a lot of money (and time!) that would have been spent at my hot, crowded, horrible neighborhood laundromat.
The Egg can hold a SMALL pile of laundry. Basically a few shirts and socks OR a pair of jeans and maybe a few pairs of underwear OR a hoodie and a few tank tops, etc. Really, it can launder one big item and a few small ones or a bunch of small ones with no big items. I had hoped my comforter might be able to make it in, but there's really no way.
Regardless, I'm pleased with this purchase and would certainly recommend this product to anyone looking for a small washer that is easy to use and to store.
Love this

Positives
1. Easy to use, holds more than it seems to, I tend to get a pair of running shorts, three shirts, and three pairs of underwear with some socks thrown in. I haven't tried it with jeans yet but I think it would handle one pair fine.
2. Runs the full cycle by itself and is straight forward.
3. Requires very little detergent to get things clean.
4. If you need to you can remove the lid during a cycle and not get splashed or have the cycle stop.
5. Compact and easy to move around, good for small space, washes clothes very well which is great for those of us seeking to save money from avoiding the laundry mat.
Negatives
1. Limited instructions in the user manual, this is only really a problem when it comes with so many gadgets and I am not sure what does what.
2. Didn't fit my kitchen sink but it does fit the bathroom sink.
3. Because of the many gadgets the first time it flooded my bathroom a bit. We ended up having to put two spacers in and it worked fine after that.
4. Not all of the water drains so truly your clothes will be dripping wet at the bottom of the pile.
5. Ringing out clothes will be difficult for anyone with hand problems
I really love this product. It works great for myself and my family, we run a load about every other day and it works excellent.
WET & SMELLY- Received a USED machine

Wow, I figured the other reviewer who noted the machine arrived smelling like mold was either mistaken or it was a fluke. Unfortunately when I opened the machine it was damp inside and smelled like damp clothes that have been left wet.
Before I opened the machine I thought that it looked much larger than I expected and that it must have a must better capacity than I had thought. However, when I opened it (and before I noticed the dampness/smell) I was shocked by how little volume inside the egg is usable for clothes. It is not worth $115 to wash some underwear. I didn't think I could fit my shirts (and I wear a size small women's).
Also, the hose that comes with the unit seemed damaged and did not fit either of my sinks (bathroom or kitchen). This is going back ASAP.
Pleasantly surprised with this cheap and easy little washer.

At the time of writing, I've done about 10 loads of laundry without complaint. I wear scrubs to work, and have coin operated laundry in my building. Rather than have to pay for a small load of scrubs every three days or so, I fit three pairs of scrubs into my egg and am done in about 45 min. The wash/rinse cycle takes about 35 min and setup/hanging clothes accounts for the other 10. I do not use the included delicates bag for anything and have had no issues with tangles or snags that I've heard people complain about with small, cheap washers. Set up was very, very easy. The egg comes with a variety of faucet adapters and tools, including a couple universal ones that seem like they would fit any faucet. I used one of the quick-connect adapters and just left it on my bathroom faucet.
Pros: Ease of set up, rinse cycle included, lightweight, variety of faucet adapters included, can fit three pairs of scrubs.
Cons: No spin cycle (you just have to wring the clothes a bit before you hang them up), product manual definitely wasn't proofread (there are editors notes regarding the clarity of an image that someone left in there)
UPDATE: After about 3 months of steady use, the machine is still going strong. Some helpful tips, though: Three pairs of size medium scrubs are actually kind of a stretch. They will fit, but they do not always rinse out all the clumps of detergent gunk. I solved this by doing 2-2.5 pairs with some socks and making sure there was some room at the top when the items felt loosely packed. Also, changing the lint trap at the bottom after every wash does help with this.
Wonderful machine that fits the need but is very rough on clothes.

The eco-egg fills a need I have that I couldn't find any other solution for: small home without the plumbing for a washer/dryer. It's incredibly easy to use, lightweight, and feels durable. Mine is kept under the sink and I can simply pull it out and set the drain hose into the sink. Although it comes with a quick-disconnect hose for water hookup, I was able to buy an adapter and y-hose at the hardware store to hook it into the supply for my sink, giving me a more permanent mount without getting in the way of the faucet. The load size is unsurprisingly small, but more than sufficient for its purpose. Laundry isn't a chore to do every two or three days since it only takes a few minutes of actual time to manage.
Despite how great this product is, I couldn't give it too many stars because it's really hard on my clothes. Almost every load brings a new rip, tear, or snagged thread. I believe that this is related to the design of the top of the shell, where some sharp edges poke out around where the water comes in. If it weren't for this fact I'd give it five stars without hesitation. In the meantime, a few ruined clothes are still cheaper to replace than it would have been to install a proper washer in my home and the hassle saved from going to the laundromat is more than worth it.
Great machine for small places. Well worth the price!

I received the Eco-egg today. Set-up was easy. There are several different connectors, so there is probably one to fit most any faucet. The machine and hoses are well made. The unit has a carrying handle. I ran two loads. My cotton slacks and scrub top can out very clean and even though you have to wring the water out by hand, a large portion of the water drained from my clothes. The machine has several cycle options. I used auto and the machine washed my clothes and rinsed them twice. No more laundermat for me!!! The price may seem high, but it is well worth it and a quality machine. The agitation was very good. I just can't say enough good things about this machine. It has strudy legs with non-skid cups that sit flat on your counter. There is no vibration and the machine is not noisy. I had it on my kitchen counter and watched a movie in the next room. I looked at the other machines on Amazon, but feel that this machine offered the best options. This machine was $25-$35 higher than some of the other machines shown, but again the capacity and options made it a great deal.
Eco-Egg Washer Saved Money and Surpassed my Expectations

1. Reason I bought the Eco-Egg: May the old washer rest in peace as I await about 6 weeks for the arrival of a new front load washer. In
the meanwhile, I bought the Eco-Egg Washer, which arrived in a few days. Some of you who are still reading this lengthy review may
wonder, why someone would spend money on a small washing machine, while waiting for delivery of a large washer. I am sure all regions are different, but I recently went to a laundry mat and spent $85 to wash and dry 14 loads of laundry. The Eco-Egg can handle most of our typical summer loads with the exception of bed linens, sheets and bath towels. Since I wash and dry about 7 loads per week, the Eco-Egg Washer should save me about $30 per week in laundry mat expenses.
2. Cord Length: First of all, the cord is heavy duty and approximately a good 93 inches long, depending on how one measures it.
3. Washing: It seems to wash like a high efficiency washing machine. I use a quality brand name HE detergent and get excellent cleaning results.
4. Washing Example: I used a couple of white rags to clean the floor, where an old washer, which had been in the same spot for 16 years resided. Anyway, one can only imagine the amount of accumulated dust and dirt which accumulated underneath that old washer. Due to the extreme dirt, I did two "wash only" cycles in hot water using the Laundry Alternative Eco-egg Automatic Mini Washing Machine. Then I did a quick rinse. Then I ran the Eco-Egg on the full automatic cycle with HE detergent and some bleach. The filthy rags are white again. Now that is amazing for a small washer that cost about $121, including tax.
5. Load Size: Here are several examples of the size of loads it has done.
Load 1: Five pairs of white crew socks
Load 2: 4 wash clothes and one hand towel
Load 3: One pair of Large cotton stretch shorts and one L cotton t-shirt
Load 4: One pair of Large heavy duty cotton men's walking shorts
Load 5: One XL rayon top (NOTE: The rayon is a thin fabric.) and one XL stretch cotton capris.
Load 6: Four white 15 inch X 10 inch thin cotton cleaning rags
Load 7: 2 Men's Large cotton t-shirts and 2 sweatbands
Load 8: 4 pairs of Men's cotton brief underwear
Timing for the above 8 loads: If you only use the wash cycle, hand wring them out and hand rinse them in a sink bowl of water. The above eight loads can be washed, hand rung and rinsed in about 80 minutes to 120 minutes, depending on how you use the machine.
Timing for one load: If you use the automatic cycle, one load takes about 35 minutes to automatically wash and automatically rinse each load. Then, you will need about two minutes in-between loads to wring out the loads before you dry them on a line or dry them in a dryer. So, for 8 small loads the rinsing, washing and wringing will take about 5 hours. On the bright side, one can do other things while the washer automatically washes the small loads.
6. Conclusion: The wringing takes a little more work than with a $600 Washing machine which spins out the water, but this washer does not cost that much. I did not mind wringing out the clothes.
I liked this small washer so much, that I bought a small oak stand for which it to sit in the bathroom next to the sink. I hope to use it for certain small loads for the rest of my laundry life.
To the Engineer of this small washer: Thank you for the design. It is perfect. I hope you consider making these Eco-Egg Washers in 2 sizes. The first size exactly the same size, exact light weight size and look as the one which I purchased. I hope to see a second Eco-Egg Washer slightly larger, which can hold at least one pair of blue jeans, large bath towel or one king size sheet with a spin cycle at a reasonable price, but hopefully weighs under 30 pounds. Since, I am not an engineer, I do not know, if this is possible.
7. Hint: If you have a dryer, Wash and wring out several small similar-fabric/similar colors loads before placing them in a dryer. This will help reduce wrinkles. Put them in a bucket to carry them to the dryer.
BUYER BEWARE!!! WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT AGAIN !!!!???

Just a couple weeks before I purchased this Eco-egg washing machine, I brought a hand-cranked Wonderwash from the Laundry Althernative. It came with missing hand-cranked handle and cap and drain host (Really!?). I was disappointed and upset that because of their careless mistakes, I had to spend time dealing with the return while I should be doing laundry at home. I thought I would give the Laundry Alternative a chance to earn my trust back and place an order for this Eco-egg machine and a Nina Soft spinner. I was so excited to get the washing machine and the spinner in about a week. However, after spending all the time to get the washing machine setup done - finding the right adapter to fit the faucet and the host, adjusting the knob, so the water wouldn't leak. I was SO DISAPPOINTED to find out the machine would not work!!! It was not moving at all after the power was on, On/Off button was on, the cycle selected, and the Start button pressed. I tried the "Full Cycle" several times and it did not work; tried the "Wash Only" several times and it did not work either. Yes, it could Rinse/Drain the water without a problem. BUT WHAT IS THE POINT to have an automatic washing machine IF IT CANNOT WASH the clothing I needed it to!!! Oh, and I also found out the model does not have "Disinfection Only" from the user manual and the box although the label on the machine itself said it has such function. I am really disappointed at the Laundry Alternative. And now I have to deal with the return process once again but with a different washing machine. I would give the company and the product a ZERO star if I could. I have not gotten a chance to test the spinner out. I will update this review if the Laundry Alternative make it hard for the customer to return the item or if the spinner is also a lemon.
not bad

It does a good job, first and foremost. The 2 rinse cycles really get the detergent out. Clothes come out clean and fresh. The washing chamber is small, however. For the size of the machine, only about 1/2 of it is used for actual washing capacity. So a big improvement here would be to have a larger washing chamber and compact the other components.
Setting up the hoses and attachments is also a bit of a pain..particularly having to do it every time you use it. Someone needs to invent a universal attachment that makes it easy to get the hoses on and off. I suppose it's a necessary evil if you want an auto-rinse cycle.
It's not loud, but you can definitely hear it while it runs. Not enough to matter unless you're super sensitive to noise.
I would say go for it.

This is a great washing machine. In the mini washing machine category, I would say that this is the best I've explored.
It does the rinsing for you, which means that you do not have to do it with your hands. This saves a lot of effort, believe me.
It cleans your clothes very well, I'm satisfied with the quality of cleaning it does.
Just that this doesn't have any spin cycle, which means that you cannot dry your clothes using this machine, but atleast I've not found any mini washing machine which does washing, rinsing and drying. Infact this is the only one which does washing and rinsing.
