Product Description
TriggerPoint GRID foam rollers feature a patented design that offers a superior, multi-density exterior constructed over a rigid, hollow core that withstands repeated use while maintaining shape and integrity. The proven durability of the GRID has helped make it a trusted tool of physical therapists, massage therapists, athletic trainers and professional athletes. The GRID can be used to roll through tight muscles, knots and kinks to reduce soreness and improve mobility. Regular use of the GRID can provide benefits such as recovery from (or preventing) injuries, decreased muscle and joint pain, increased circulation and flexibility, improved balance and mobility and preparing the body for peak performance. The distinctive, multi-dimensional surfaces of the GRID replicate the feeling of a massage therapist’s hands - wide and flat like the palm, long and tubular like the fingers, and small and firm like the finger tips. The textured surface of the GRID helps to maximize the flow of blood and oxygen to heal tissue. TriggerPoint GRID foam rollers are available in three sizes and two densities. Regular density models include the original 13-inch GRID, the 26-inch GRID 2.0, and the 4-inch travel-friendly GRID Mini. Great Foam Roller! Strong like bull, perfect size, and looks great!by Tuffie (5 out of 5 stars)

I'm a male, 36, 5'10, 200 lbs, I workout/lift regularly but definitely still love tacos, sushi, and pizza and it shows. :)
I've been having upper back and between my shoulder blades pain and started per a friends recommendation using a foam roller before/after workouts and generally when I have back/shoulder pain. We have a workout space in my condo building with a basic black form roller (used in the side-by-side pics) that's 36" inches long but I wanted something a bit more, more, so found this and am very happy with the product.
First, I bulked at the price too. $60 bucks for a foam roller thing? Is it going to buy me dinner and put out after too? Kidding! :) But compared to the basic one I was using this is truly an upgrade. It's extremely solid, well crafted, good weight, and feels great when using.
On sizes, the original one I have in the pics is 36" inches long, and I honestly found it to be too long. This one at 26" is the right size for what I feel a majority of people who would use this for their back, shoulders, legs, whatever.
I really need help working out knots/pain points when hitting my back and shoulders and this really is firm but has enough softness from the foam padding allowing you really put pressure/weight on those paint points to work them out (Oh! The beautiful pain!!) vs feeling like you're rolling them on a pillow.
At the end of the day, it's just a foam roller, but you get what you pay for and I'm very happy with the cost now that I've gotten my hands and back/shoulders on this and it performs much better than the basic foam roller I had been using.
If you are older and are stiff - reconsider

This is actually very hard to use. It requires a lot of body/arm strength to use properly and it really hurts. I am a pretty tough ex-athlete and I had a very hard time using this. It looks easy when you watch the videos online, but in practice if you have injuries (such as shoulder/wrist) that prevent you from supporting your body weight this might not be for you.
Another issue is with flexibility - if you are inflexible some of the movements will be tough.
In the end, I guess what I am saying is that using this is actually a pretty tough workout and if you have joint/flexibilty issues, then you might not even be able to use it.
It is constructed very well and seems like it will last.
The 1 star rating is because I think the product is marketed in a way that makes it seem appropriate and helpful for everyone.
Upgraded Foam Roller - SO MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE

I love, love, love my TriggerPoint GRID foam roller. I have a similar, less expensive, foam roller made of foam. The TriggerPoint is so much better. 1. It is harder. The hard plastic center allows it the pressure to really focus on your muscles. The softer exterior with is great. Now, I can't say if the channels are good or bad, since I love the hardness afforded by the hard plastic center. I've come to the point in which I use the softer foam roller when something is SUPER painful and then promote myself up to the TriggerPoint roller once I can easily breath again while rolling. It's totally worth having both types of rollers. For example, my IT Band is WICKED tight. I start with the lighter - standard foam roller and then once it feels worked out, I then go at my IT Band with the TriggerPoint and find other, deeper spots. I use the TriggerPoint after running & hiking.
Very strong product

Very well made, strong. Not spongie though - if you want a softer product, don't go for this one - probably need one with a foam center. I will need to use 2 different ones. This one is good if you're going to put a lot of weight on it because the foam centered ones would collapse or warp if you put too much weight on them (the cheaper ones from Walmart). So for rolling your back, this one is perfect. If you're going to roll your sides or T-band, way too hard - perhaps I can put a towel or spongie pad over it though for doing those. It will definitely last a long time. Overall I'm pleased.
Worth the price

This is expensive for a foam roller. But it's way better. I used a cheap foam roller and didn't understand why people swear by foam rolling in general. I'd use it for a couple of minutes and not notice any improvement in flexibility or pain. When I got this one, I got it: It's much firmer, so it actually causes your muscles to release tension. Pretty fantastic for everything below your neck. For lower back pain I love doing crunches with the roller in the mid-to-low back. It really releases tension there. Make sure you look up exercises targetting the areas you're working on. A good tool is nothing without knowing how to use it.
Wake up & open your spine

I have a bad back, and this roller is amazing. It opens the stretches my back every morning. I often wake up stiff, but after a few minutes of rolling when I first get up, I am flexible and ready to go! It comes with a cardboard guide to help you see what other uses/stretches/massage techniques are possible. I love this brand and this larger roller.
I first bought the shorter one which was fine at first. After a while, I found that it was too much trouble to try to stay on it. With this larger one, I can roll side to side as I am rolling front to back. It's great!

It feels like a quality product that will last and performs so much better than the standard black roller I was using before. It's super easy to use and target specific areas. It's so cool looking that even my 11 year old is into rolling now. I was hesitant to spend this kind of money on a roller but am so glad I did.
I love this.

My sister who is a PT recommended a foam roller to me years ago. I continued to try to stretch out all my kinks, but since running 5 days a week for the last couple of months I was at my wits end. My lower back, hip flexors, and sciatic were killing me. Every start of a run was like glass breaking in my quads and around mile 3 the aching in my lower back started to almost make me stop. Laying in a bed was hurting so much that my nights rest were getting really bad. I have only used this 4 days, but feel a noticeable difference. The aching is considerably less. I work my glutes, hip flexors and back...it hurts so bad, but feels so good at the same time (my son and husband disagree and think this could be used as a method of torture). I love deep deep tissue massages (the kind that leave bruises:) and lots of pressure point work. This seems to be a big help on all fronts. I will touch back in a couple of weeks and update this reviews. Fingers crossed my runs are pain free in no time:)
Wish I'd bought this years ago!

This thing is phenomenal! I wish, wish, wish that I had bought one years ago. I have been suffering from shoulder pain, in both shoulders, for many years. Little did I know that that pain originated from my upper back. Since I've started using this roller on my back to loosen up the muscles and probably straighten out my spinal column in the upper back area, most of that shoulder pain is gone and I have mire mobility. I have more work to do, but it's amazing the difference in my shoulders and even the neck area. If you're put off by the price of it, just forget about the cost and think about the potential relief, from using it. It's worked wonders for me.
Best one

So I looked at multiple review sites and this roller always got the top score. I assumed it was the usual marketing conspiracy/create your own review sites scheme. I bought 5 cheaper rollers, one after the other, and finally bought this one. Save yourself and buy this one first. Amazon basics high density foam rollers are my second choice, they are the best for the money. This roller is far and away the best for my nightmare IT bands, back and neck. It is the perfect balance of the hard non compressible core with a perfect amount of foam/texture overlay. The only ? is durability, but I suspect it will hold up better than the pure foam ones.
