He ruined my marriage....
by Barry (5 out of 5 stars)
October 12, 2014

Boney, as I like to call him, came neatly packaged in a nice cardboard box prominently tagged with a description stating he was fully posable. I bought Boney to hang in my garage (aka "mancave") because I thought it would be cool to have him hanging around with me and the boys.

Well, I thought it would be a shame to waste him solely on the garage. So I decided to introduce Boney to my wife. Bad mistake. 20 years has taught me nada zip zilch zero nuttin about marriage or maturity....

Boney had been sitting in his box in the garage hidden behind my other unattended projects. No one besides me knew he had moved in.

Boney, a good 5 or so feet tall, and fully posable, needed to visit our living quarters.

I decided that Boney shouldn't be forced to just stand around waiting for people to arrive home. So Boney found his way into the pocket water closet in our master bathroom. He looked so nice just sitting there on the commode. Like he was relieved... I figured my wife would come home, open the slide door, see good ol' Boney just sitting there and we'd all have a good lauguh

She came home late and used another bathroom before coming to bed. Never opened the pocket slide door. Just went into the master bath, freshened up, did her teeth and then went to bed/sleep. Silent night.... holy night.... till approx 4:30 am at which point a shrill sound that not even the most dedicated horror movie fanatic has ever heard emanated from the bathroom. At first I was bewildered. A heavy sleeper am I, but alas I was awakened quickly. Then I was reminded... shocked into recalling what was at the root of the insidious noises projecting from the torture chamber that once was my bathroom.

Boney never lost his cool. ... but he did lose his head, one leg and several ribs. I too suffered loss, as the promise of any romance in the near future quickly faded along with many meals, help with chores and other household activities.

Boney is made of a material that is not necessarily superglue friendly.... more experiments to come this weekend.

Moral of the story: the manufacturer of this product is clearly negligent in their labeling practices and owes me an apology for failing to warm me that this item is neither wife-friendly nor wife-proof.

Edit: Sept 6 2015

Well... ended up being able to easily repair Boney by gently sanding the points that required glue. Superglue is doing a fantastic job of keeping everything together strongly. Just sand both sides of the repair and you'll be fine. He looks good in my garage and enjoys watching over all of my unfinished projects. Definitely a good buy! Get one!

Useless man

Thought I was getting a mail order husband and got a lazy sack of bones that evidently is no different than my current husband who lays about. I'll still give him 5 stars because at the very least he makes me laugh and my current husband doesn't like to mess with him.

Year Round Fun
by Chautauqua (3 out of 5 stars)
September 12, 2018

I bought this to add to Halloween decor three years ago, and quickly discovered a year-round addition to my home decor.

First thing I did was to buy a high quality set of plastic eyeballs, then I wired them up to his eye sockets, with LED lights powered by a 9 volt battery, then finally added a on/off switch.

Everyone who sees it cracks up, even the ones who it initially spooked. Dr. Bones (McCoy) as I call him is a testament to perpetual childhood. As another reviewer noted, the plastic used doesn't like super glue, but the result looks like melted flesh on the bone, so it actually enhances the overall look, especially when you add some red paint.

For a while it even did scarecrow duty in the back porch, but eventually the racoons got used to him and returned to raid the cat food....so I also bought the skeleton cat...which is another story.

Can't stand on it's own, limited range of motion
by Ellen (3 out of 5 stars)
October 27, 2017

I bought this skeleton strictly for comedic value. My plan was to display it in various positions throughout my home to startle my friends and loved ones. I was a little disappointed. For pros, it is a good height and the jaw moves. Also it looks good in a seated position. However, the range of motion really let me down. The wrists are pretty much fixed, so that means you can't have your skeleton doing activities with it's hands, or have it holding items. Also the shoulder joints only move backwards and forwards, not out to the side. So if you plan was to place your skeleton seductively in front of a fireplace, you're out of luck. If you wanted him to be leaning against a wall, looking like one of the cool kids, again you're out of luck. I think perhaps the biggest letdown of all is that this skeleton can't stand on it's own. It just falls right over. This was a huge disappointment, because I was really looking forward to leaving him standing in the shower for someone to find.

BUY IT! SO FUN!!
by John & Sherri (5 out of 5 stars)

So much fun to pose and prank my teenagers! It's great for Halloween too, of course! This guy just makes you smile cuz he's always smiling! I bought one Crazy Bones and one from a different maker. Crazy bones looks and feels far superior in quality, but has a couple drawbacks. The hands and forearms don't move and twist like real arms, but they are both hinged. Neither the shoulder or hips move like ball and socket joints, but they are hinged and poseable. The other cheaper brand was clearly more flimsy, but it was also fully poseable AND the joints moved better and rotated. So both have their good and bad. I love both skeletons, but would probably recommend the Crazy Bones one because the quality is top notch!

To the Crazy bones creators, your public has spoken. We want more mobility in the hands and arms. Y'all are geniuses. I know you can make it happen!! ;D. When you do, I'll buy more, and I doubt I'd he the only one eagerly awaiting its release!!

PS- for those who don't know, Pinterest has tons of great ideas for posing your skeleton(s)!!

Not worth the $
by PirateBob (1 out of 5 stars)

Not worth the money. If this had been $30 it would be worth it. For $50+, its a hunk of junk. The joints on the upper legs and arms are just loose wire. There is no way this could be considered pose and stay the way these joints are assembled.

My advice, spend your $50+ on something else.

Awesome! I have 7 of these outside the house!

This is by far the coolest Halloween decoration I've ever used! Easy to pose, no tools needed. I used tie wraps to keep it in place. They've been thru a storm with rain and wind and still look awesome! Lots of compliments from neighbors!

Love that Crazy Bonez quality!

You know, I read "life-size" so often in advertising I get numb. So when I got the box for this guy, I was unfazed.

Until I realized he was folded in half inside.

I've got tons of Crazy Bonez creatures for my ever-growing Halloween displays, so I guess I shouldn't have been so surprised at both the quality and the truthfulness in the marketing.

As I raise the bar on last year's Dead Thing Pen (filled with Crazy Bonez creatures), I needed two full-size human skeletons for my next design: a skeleton animal control agent and a skeleton pied piper.

This guy will fill the role of the former easily and perfectly. Featuring the classic Crazy Bonez articulation and some welcome additional poseability, this skeleton will be awesome once I throw on his costume and pose him on one side of my driveway. I ordered the stand separately, because he will need something to keep him upright.

I am still trying to figure out how to make the arms and hands work well enough for a pied piper. There is not enough joint flexibility to prop the arms up near his mouth. He'll be "sitting" on a stool, so that part is taken care of. If I can get a flash of inspiration to make it happen, I would order another of these in an instant.

Keep making these great skeletons and I will keep buying them!
(Edit: here they are as currently working on...)

BROKEN IMMEDIATELY
by Dap (1 out of 5 stars)
November 20, 2017

Lasted only one month. The piece itself is heavy. It is not as bendable as they describe. The plastic is very hard. The joints are extremely tight and when I tried to bend the limbs into the position my son wanted, it was very difficult. When the joint finally did move, I heard a loud "snap" each time. I knew that couldn't be good. I guess it was only a matter of time until this Halloween decoration ended up broken. I didn't think it would take only one Halloween season. Mind you, we didn't repeatedly maneuver it around our yard either. We put it up against our porch and left it there for two weeks. It was when I tried to put it away it completely broke. It snapped at the hips. I noticed in the photographs that I was not the only customer that had theirs break there. I splurged when I paid almost $50.00 for this Halloween decoration. It isn't worth that, even if it didn't break in two weeks.
