I've always thought how nice it would be to have a cool, consistent breeze blowing up my shorts. I'm actually in the process of developing my own take on Air Jordans, called Air Up There Jordans. They'll have a ring-shaped... [Read more]Top Reviews
Fan performance and intuitive wireless control are very good, but the fan's stand is very unstableby Will (3 out of 5 stars)

Fan performance and intuitive wireless control are very good, but the fan's stand is very unstable, makes it fall very easily defeating the purpose of the whole thing, there are workarounds to make it stick to its position, but I guess I will invest in the Smart Duvet for way more convenient and practical approach to sleeping hot! 1/3 of our life is on a bed, so it's better to make it the best third.
Piece of crap or amazing fan? Hard to tell! UPDATE: My boyfriend loves it!

UPDATE!!!
I gave this fan to my boyfriend when I clearly (see 10/3/16 review below) hated this thing. He LOVES it! So I realized a few things that may help other potential buyers.
1) My boyfriend does not have carpet so the fan stands up well without any feet added as some buyers have had to do.
2) He put a bungee-cord around the fan and attached it to his metal bed frame so it doesn't move around when he moves around or moves his blankets.
3) He placed the fan next to him on the side of the bed rather than at the foot of the bed and finds gentle airflow over the blankets keeps him cool as well as letting the air flow under the blankets.
4) He put the cord under the bed and taped it down so it wouldn't get caught on anything since it's so thin.
5) He loves the convenience of the fan's wireless remote and the adjustable settings.
6) I find that I stay cooler too when I stay over even though the fan is on his side of the bed which is nice since we're both warm sleepers.
Had to change to a 5 for him.

I hate and love this fan every time I use it. Is it a piece of crap or is it amazing? I'm keeping it as it does cool me down but I have no idea how long this thing will last.
PROS:
- Lightweight
- Filter fits under bed
- Wireless remote works perfectly
- Fan at height of bed provides steady stream of air (I have mine at the side of the bed now, see cons)
- Cord is long enough to go under a bed and then some
CONS:
- The whole thing is very flimsy plastic (which I'm sure will break easily, especially if I have to adjust the height. Duct tape will be covering this thing at some point)
- Can't use a bed skirt or use with a bedframe with no space underneath as it will block the fan
- Horrible design so that the fan falls over all the time on carpet or whenever you move the blankets over the top of the fan (I will have to put feet on it like other people suggested but it's so light, I think it will get knocked around anyway. I may need to put a large weighted base on the bottom)
- Cord is very flimsy adapter cord (not a thick cord I was thinking it would be for a fan - see picture)
- Air does NOT work from the bottom of the bed as shown. Barely moved up 8-12" on the bed. I had to move the fan to my side in order to feel any cooling effect. With the fan on high, the air felt great, BUT....
- Fan is LOUD when on high and next to you
- Constantly adjusting where fan should go in order to provide cooling air where I need it (doesn't distribute air as you would think)
SUMMARY:
I'm keeping it as it does provide air across the bed or under the sheets, but I don't know how long I'll really end up using it or how often. May be a nice guest room fan if I can't get it to work how I'd like. It was probably a waste of money as I could have gotten other fans at this price point. I'm going to work on the base for it or see if I can strap it to the bed somehow so it won't fall over or move the air every time I turn over. The other night it was really hot and it kept my back very nice and cool, though I had to keep adjusting it all night long. If I'd had a chance to test it out easily prior to purchasing, I would not have purchased and would have tried other products.
Definitely helps for hot sleepers!

We live in Florida where the summers can get scorchingly hot and a high AC bill can make you want to cry. My S/O get so hot that he sweats in the night no matter how low we crank down the air. I got him this fan for his birthday, and it is his favorite thing he's ever owned! The only thing I wish I could change is that I wish the base were a bit more stable. He is long and often kicks it over in the night. However, we just cut a slit in our fitted sheet to fit the fan through and it has held it up ever since. I may have to go ahead and buy another one for him just because I know he would not be able to sleep if this one ever went out.

Cheaply made, broke within a week

I knew there'd be problems the second I took it out of the box. I opened the box on hardwood flooring and as soon as I set this fan down it fell over! It's so top heavy it doesn't stand up at all on its own. The front cover broke the first day because it fell over again while trying to position it under the sheets. I used the fan a few nights and it was okay. A couple days later it's time to change the sheets. While pulling the bedsheets tight around it,my husband at one end and myself on the other, together we cracked the tower off the base! It hasn't worked at all since. What a terrible waste of money! Take my advice and invest in another means of cooling yourself! Unfortunately I didn't save the box so now I'm unsure if I can return it at all. :(
The remote control also twists to turn up the air

At first I didn't think it blew much air, until I realized that the push button remote control also twists to turn up the air. When turned up high, my duvet cover & sheets inflate above the bed. So I'm not sure how people can say it doesn't blow much air. Clearly like me, they probably didn't read the instructions explaining the remote control twists like a radio dial to increase the air flow.
It works great. Great for living in Florida
My only issue seems to be is that my remote control goes through batteries really quickly, without me even using it for a week or so. I'm on my 3rd set of batteries in lesss than 4 weeks.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION IS TOTALLY MISLEADING!! PLUS BROOKSTONE DOES NOT HONOR SHIPPING COSTS!!

DO NOT BUY THIS THING!! I would give 0 starts if I could. Product barely blows any air & you can barely feel it more than 12 inches away. It has a LOUD & NOISY Humming. Mine turned itself off in the middle of the night! How does that cool me off when sleeping?? Once you find out that this thing is a piece & you try to return it....you will find that Brookstone will NOT honor you with a full refund. Oh no, you will have to pay to ship this giant paperweight back to Brookstone out of your own pocket. I am warning you with peace & love. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY & TIME. Buy a cheap $40 fan and call it a day.
Not worth the money. Fan is weak and airflow ...

Not worth the money. Fan is weak and airflow is minimal. The remote doesn't work unless it is close proximity to the fan (1' - 2'). Fan can only be positioned at the end of the bed or else it is an obstruction when you get in and out of bed.
BAD QUALITY AND TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I purchased this fan as a Christmas gift directly from Brookstone on Amazon. The fan worked pretty good for a few months, though the touchy remote was a pain. After a few months, the fan started shutting off with very little movement in the bed and we realized the cord was coming loose. After trying to keep the cord in it, then the fan started making really loud noises and just sounded scary. We've come to depend on this fan at night because it is truly great WHEN IT ACTUALLY WORKS. I tried to contact Brookstone via Amazon and they claimed they could not locate my order so they needed me to call their customer service line. Once I called customer service, I was told the fan was under warranty so I could return it and within 2 days of them receiving it back, they would send me a replacement. It is now 7 days since they received the fan and I've heard nothing so I call their customer service again. This time it takes the rep quite some time to locate my order. When she finally does, she says the fan is on BACK-ORDER until October so they don't have another fan to send me. I remind her that I was told I would receive another fan right away after returning this one and she just made excuses about the other rep not knowing it was on back-order etc. Had I been informed they could not fulfill their promise to send another fan out once this one was returned, I may have tried to stick it out with this one until October. Now, we are left with no fan and not even an apology. Very disappointed in Brookstone and this product.
Poorly designed, easily brakes, waste of money!

It's not weighted at the bottom there for it falls over a lot. The thing that kills me is that mine just recently broke because one of the actual fans on the bottom started to fall apart. I bought this in November and it's now March so i had it less the half a year and it's broken. Worst part is it didn't even do what it's advertised because the comforter would weigh down the blankets and block the air. So not worth the money.
Don't buy this cheap knockoff

The quality of this product is insanely horrible. Even if both the tiny computer case fans in it functioned properly it's very loud and very cheap and not very powerful. This thing can't cost more then 5 dollars wholesale, that's how cheap it is. They don't even include batteries for the remote.
I'm returning this and buying the BFan and hopefully that will live up to the quality I expect from a $100+ fan.
