Fun, but eats batteriesby nacholibra. (4 out of 5 stars)

Fun toy. Works fine with Android Marshmallow. Moves fairly well on carpeting. Daylight camera quality isn't as good as the night vision. The G-force setting is the easiest way to guide the spy tank. Motor sounds nice and strong. Easy to maneuver in close quarters. This has a healthy appetite for eating 6 AA batteries in less than 30 minutes. Get rechargeable batteries to save money. I wish this was a plug-ion lithium battery instead. Batteries are NOT included - I think they were originally, but not now. This is NOT Bluetooth, it connects to your wifi network. However, just because it connects to your wifi doesn't mean you can actually use this as a camera when you're not home. It's not meant for that, and the battery life would be horrendous. Absolutely not possible and I didn't buy it for that - that's what my Canary security cameras are for: Canary All-in-One Home Security Device - Black

Synched up immediately and ran perfectly. Camera moves up and down. Transmits and receives sound. You can turn the headlights on and off from your tablet. My 11 year old absolutely loves this.
Great toy idea, but some refinements could eventually make it great

We bought this item for my 9-yr old son, who loves it. He tends to be more forgiving of the toys shortcomings. Nevertheless, here are what I have found to be the toy's pros and cons:
Pros:
+a) It came with 4 AA batteries... whew, we forgot to buy extra batteries (note, I would highly recommend investing in rechargeable batteries)!
+b) Set up was easy... install batteries, install app (iOS or Android mobile phone or tablet), attach antennae, turn the toy on, connect to it via WiFi, start the app, and play.
+c) My son has his own iPad. If your child needs to use your tablet or phone, then you can move this item to the Cons list :-)
+d) The app itself (needed to control the tank) is free and easy to learn and use.
+e) You're given two modes in which to drive the tank: 1) on screen left & right 1D joysticks (touchscreen sliders one on each side of the screen), and 2) device's own sensors allowing you to tilt and rotate the device (e.g. tilt forward and the tank goes forward); I found my son constantly switching between the two modes.
+f) My son loved the microphone and speaker built into the tank, enabling him to actually talk (crudely) with someone via the tank+tablet
+g) The camera built into the tank lets you see what it sees so you can drive it remotely without direct line of sight to the tank itself
Cons:
-a) Each time you pull the toy out to play with it, you must go to your devices WiFi settings and reconnect to it; not difficult, just a hassle/nuisance
-b) There is a noticeable lag between the time you interact with the tablet/phone and the time the tank responds.
-c) There is a noticeable lag and blur as your mobile device gets updated images from the tank's camera (think of the early days of webcams).
-d) Tank driving controls are not very fluid (either mode); it's very hard to actually drive a route without overshooting a turn and then overcorrecting. You spend most of your attention and effort on just trying to drive instead of focusing on where to go and what to do.
-e) Touch driving controls are unreliable, sometimes not acknowledging certain touches or movements; the designers should have made the touch sliders a little bigger (longer and slightly wider).
Overall, given our experience with it so far, I would still recommend buying it. My son enjoys it and it has added new life into our toy soldier war-games.

We were so excited when we bought this, but then shortly after opening realized that the app doesn't work with any device as the app has not been upgraded for new iOS software. We had to return it the same day :(
My son loves this.

This is a great piece of tech for the price. Video. Two-way audio. True night-vision. The video is a little laggy, so it is tricky navigate from another room - but possible - my son can do it. You can drive it up to someone and carry on a conversation. Note: The audio only works when the Rover is stopped. The App downloaded, installed, and connected super-easily. The programmed routes work OK. Because of floor imperfections and other factors, the Rover may not follow the exact same path every time. So if you are close to a wall, you might end up hitting it on the next go around. Lots of fun. Lots of things to experiment with.

Bought this for our 13 year old grandson for Christmas. He had it up and running in a few minutes. He had a lot of fun with it while he was at our house. It looks to be well made and good quality.

It was disappointing to discover upon delivery that this is a Brookstone product which I usually avoid, from past experience. It looks cool and full of promise, but that is where it ends. The low resolution camera sucks and details at any range are not possible. I used a 10" Samsung Tab2 and Samsung Galaxy smart phone to operate the device via the free app. The app lagged and constantly over-steered my input in both modes. The range in line of sight on open ground was a disappointing 45', due to the video lag time, hidden operation is laborious and un-enjoyable. The glossy finish picked-up hand prints that were very noticeable. Night-vision feature is just as poor. Beyond a toy for young children who will likely use it once and shelf it, uses are very limited. There are much better options at lower prices that can accommodate GoPro wifi modules and true HD and UHD formats, even FLIR.

Works good ,weather has not let me try outside yet but confident it'll work fine. Night vision is pretty cool feature but as I said using it outside will determine if it's a 5 star rating. Price is good I guess ,also any kid above 5 should be able to use with there video gaming experience .

it takes 6 AA batteries. That is a lot of batteries for about 40 min of play. Needs to be a rechargeable battery.

a big hit. I paid around $80 but I noticed that the price fluctuates a lot.
