It works as described and was easy to installby Hodor (4 out of 5 stars)

Bought in March of 2014, I've had this since then in my home office. It works as described and was easy to install. I've installed a lot of light switches and outlets over the years, this wasn't any harder or easier than most.
It's been over three years and the main reason I'm giving this only 4 stars instead of 5 is that it's wearing out. The stem the button sits on is loose and the dimmer functionality doesn't work very well. But after years of slamming the button to turn the lights off and on, I can't be too surprised by that.
I'd say you could expect about a year of solid and reliable performance from this switch before you'd have to consider replacing it.
Great ...But needs better instructions.

Ok....I know nothing about electrical stuff. I did get it installed, so of course it can be done. Let me give you a major hint that was not in the instructions. By the way I called the phone number listed in the box as a 24 hour help. They knew nothing about this, so they were no help.
I uninstalled and hooked up all the wiring perfect 1st time through....instructions were perfect at the hard stuff.
However once I went to install the faceplate the screws did not line up at all. I tried everything, even went to 2 different hardware stores. To no avail, I was even trying to jimmy ring some sort of connector to screw the faceplate into. Needless to say I was frustrated. No where in the instructions did it say to unscrew the two screws from the faceplate, hook the plate behind that to the wall then re-screw the two screws back into the faceplate.
I finally figured it out!! This is a neat gadget for my sons room. It works great as a dimmer. It just needs a bit clearer instructions on the very last step.
Installed and lasted for about 5 years

After I plugged in Christmas lights to the same circuit the switch controlled (Apartment switch controlled outlet), the switch emitted a loud humming noise. Other than that, it was pretty good.
Awesome on/off/dinner switch!

Really, if you have a kid (or man cave), what could be cooler than a panic button light switch? As easy to install as any switch, took me less than ten minutes. Incorporates on/off/dinner switches. Only afraid the plastic won't hold up to the continued pounding the style begs. We're six months in and it's holding up well so far!
Sweet dimmer light switch!

I first installed new light bulbs in the kitchen, that was a whole other problem, and the new bulbs were great, but bright as the sun. I figured I could use a dimmer when I want to make it less than an intense bright white light. I had my eye on this for a while when I saw it at Think Geek, panic switch light switch. I've never installed a light switch before, I installed it no problem, it works great!

Not the original authentic panic button

This product is not what is shown in the picture. It is NOT the original product in the proper packaging panic button (yellow box in the 3rd picture). I was planning on giving this to a friend as a present, but now it's as if I just put it together by going to the hardware store...which is exactly what it looks like.
This "product" came in a small brown, DAMAGED, cardboard box (of very cheap quality), within the box, is a separate red which looks like it came off of a children's toy, a BLUE light switch cover (not silver as shown in the pictures), and a boxed Lutron Rotary light dimmer switch, which has the do-it yourself instructions.
There is nothing in the description that states any of this will be sent; using the original product picture gives the impression that this is an authentic product when in fact it is a KNOCK OFF.
This product is NOT worth buying as a gift, or at all:
FYI:
Red knob= $2 (Amazon)
Light switch plate= $2 (home depot)
Lutron rotary dimmer = $8 (Google)
