Product Description
AppTag Laser Blaster brings first person shooter console gameplay to smartphones in the real world. As with any blaster toy, the object is to shoot your friends, but AppTag adds a whole new dimension! The free AppTag Apps keep score via WiFi and 3g/4g (data charges may apply) and players can pick up Augmented Reality Weapons, ammo packs, health Kits, and body armour in a similar way to a console game like HaloTM, but this is real life, inside or outdoors! You can play single, multi or team games and AppTag can be used with other guns that have an accessory rail, such as NerfTM, BuzzBeeTM, etc. For targeting, AppTag uses a focused infrared beam and sensor for the 'laser' so it's totally safe. Each unit has an IR sender and receiver, and the AppTag unit works together with any attached smart device with a camera. Both iOS and Android single and multi player Apps can be found by searching "AppTag" in the app stores. AppTag works with all iOS devices with a camera, and most Android powered phones running Android 2.3 and above. AppTag works with all iPhones newer than the 3GS and iPods with a camera (4 or newer).Features
- Smartphone / iPod not included.

Poor quality. Grandson found it very difficult to use. wasn't age appropriate. .Returned it for refund.
I also didn't like that it came directly from China -couldn't read the invoice.
Disappointing

We only purchased this product because it said it was comparable with iPhones or itouch. There is an app to go with the gun which is the only reason we bought it. However the iTouch wouldn't fit it and the blue tooth didn't work. We returned it immediately. Very misleading
Great product!

Absolutely nothing good to say about this product

For starters, it clearly states that the apps needed to use this product are free. This isn't the case, as each one costs $3.99. See attached screenshot. Nevertheless after purchasing the first app "Swarm" all that it does is display an error message stating that it cannot connect to the server. Second app actually loads but when you aim it at the supplied target to view the main menu, you can't go any further. Doesn't matter what button you press or what menu option you attempt to go into, it won't move from the main menu.
So not only is this product a useless waste of money, but you have to spend another $8 to buy a few apps before you know that it's an absolutely terrible product. Don't waste your money or ruin your child's surprise by purchasing this expensive paperweight.
BEWARE: Not designed for use in a house!

I bought two guns and tried several times to play a two-person laser tag game with my son at home, but it was unreliable. The guns wouldn't reliably register shots on each other, and sometimes both guns would trigger shots on the same phone, and the phone app would constantly crash. We never made it through a single 10-shot game. After much troubleshooting and restarting and rebooting, I contacted the manufacturer whose excuse was "in the instructions it indicates you need to be at least 2 meters apart. if you are playing a game less than 2 meters apart there will be interference between the guns...." Of course, there are many rooms in a house where people must come within 2 meters of each other: bedrooms, hallways, kitchens, etc. The effect is worse in rooms that have hard floors or large walls (more reflective surfaces cause more interference). Laser tag guns that have to be in different rooms in order to shoot at each other are a bad design. I asked for my money back, but did not get it, presumably because the guns are working as intended. They just don't tell you when you are ordering them that they won't work in most indoor situations.
Great family fun!!

We Bought these for all our grandchildren and nephews and took them to thanksgiving. Once we got all the phones setup with the app, we had a ball. We were running around the house and ducking behind the couch to take cover. It is a great multi-player game. The single player options are fun as well and work better for the younger kids. We thought it was great fun.
Very difficult to use

This is a waste of money. You basically aim at the box and if you move your gun slightly it is out of range. I stopped after 20 minutes too frustrated. My son who is 8 stopped after about 20 seconds.
Great fun for all ages! Play real life laser tag with the family.

We bought 4 apptags and played them with our nephews (ages 3 and 7.) We played laser tag inside the house and had a blast. It got the kids running around, jumping, ducking, and hiding. It was a little hard for the 3 year old (I think it's really intended for kids that are a little older), but he still had fun. The apps are a lot of fun and there are many games to choose from. The 7-year-old spent a lot of time playing the "tin can" arcade game. It's fun for the whole family.
Must buy for kids for the holidays!

I can't believe how much fun the games are for this thing! It's really like the animations are in your home! Bees that appear to be flying around your living room that you have to shoot out of the air! Augmented reality is amazing and this thing is a blast! Must buy for kids for the holidays!
