Product Description

Grow fearsome Fly Traps and savage Sundews. These will start sprouting without stratification and will thrive in your LED lit bog for years. These meat-eating plants are fascinating to watch grow from the day they sprout. Fifteen powerful micro LED lights provide plenty of light for your seedlings and plants to thrive. The state of the art light has red lights to promote flowering, blue lights to foster foliage, and you can set it to use one or both lights, depending on what you are growing.

  • Themed Terrarium
  • LED Growing Light
  • USB plug and cord

I paid how much for this thing?

I would like to say this thing is a piece of junk and I might feel that way in a few weeks. I will say I cannot believe I was dumb enough to pay $28 for it. You could probably buy a nice square vase for 20 bucks less. As others have pointed out - May 2017 - the light now comes with a USB connection, so good luck plugging it in. Luckily I had an extra iPhone USB plug that is doing the trick. As others have also pointed out, the light DOES NOT FIT into the plastic rectangle - you have to craftily try to place it on top. I have another plant light that generates a lot of heat - this LED thing has no heat to it (I don't know if that is good or bad) - you can choose between red and blue or a combo of both and it is nice that it has a timer (that is if you are OK with the ugly cable that is sticking out from it). The downside it my gorgeous green plant now looks poop brown underneath the red and blue.

And let's be clear. This is a piece of rectangular plastic (i won't even dignify it by calling it plexiglass) that sits in a plastic base. The only reason I bought this was because I was looking for something that would light a venus fly trap plant. Now with all that said, I am not even trying to grow the seeds they sent. I bought a Venus Fly Trap plant at Whole Foods and have replanted it into this thing. Let's see it it is still alive in a month.

Did the trick!

I recently got into venus fly traps. I am the type of person that tends to go overboard with hobbies. I decided I wanted to try to grow some from the seed after buying many mature fly traps. I found this and gave it a whirl. After soaking my seeds (only used the venus fly trap seeds) in distilled water for a couple of days (until they sunk to the bottom after stirring) I sowed them. My seeds started to sprout at day 11! I ended up buying more than one of these sets! Would reccomend for others, it does take a litte patients, these plants take 2-5 years to fully mature afterall!

I don't like giving bad reviews, but this deserves it. The package doesn't tell you just how much effort you have to put into growing these things. I wen through 3 bags of seeds before I finally gave up. I did manage to get 4 plants started, but after discovering that it takes 5 years to nurture these things to be large enough to watch, I threw the whole thing out.

Oh, and the LED light strip simply does not supply enough light to be useful.

If you want flytraps for your children, buy fully mature ones at a nursery that sells them.

I just set it up and it is really cool looking if slightly smaller than I expected

I have successfully grown several sundews, pitcher plans and Venus flytraps on my own at my house. However, I always had to make my own terrariums with everything from the soil to the pots to the fluorescent lights. If I would have seen this product earlier I would have saved about $40-60 in materials. I just set it up and it is really cool looking if slightly smaller than I expected. The only thing I would inform all customers about is that the see through part of the terrarium does not go in the way you would think. The open side is not the top; the light cube doesn't fit in there. The open side is the bottom. The side with the two holes in it is the top and the light rests on top of it.

This is great for kids to get them interested in plants

This is great for kids to get them interested in plants. I am a little disappointed as the seeds didn't seem very viable, there were only a few that sprouted for us even though we followed the directions carefully. We got a few to grow but it took them longer to sprout than it said it would. Maybe more will start to grow. Don't over-water!

DuneCraft needs to check it's sizing better...

It seems to be a well designed kit, to be honest. One small problem though - the top with the LED lights does not fit the base - the top is just a small amount too large. It still works, to be honest, it just doesn't fit quite as well as it ought to.

Don't trust this product for the seeds. Better off getting seeds from guarenteed cp growers

The seeds in here are No good.

They never grow.

It be best to get seeds from guarenteed abs knowledgable growers.

Here's a group you can join

But still this be fine to buy just for the tiny terrarium and LED lights

Cool looking but the top never fit quite correctly

Cool looking but the top never fit quite correctly. Subsequently not one plant grew. The directions are also vague and indirect. I have a full carnivores garden but could not use this product.

Really disapppointed...I wrapped it for Christmad and when it was open it was cracked in 3 places. Got a machine every time I call...left messages with my name and number along with what we ordered and our address for a replacement...no response. Hopefully I hear back soon!
