A fun Learning Experience

I'm so excited I got this for Christmas (I'm just a big kid at heart). I have given it 4 stars because the parts are plastic and seem a bit cheap, however, it has all the parts and was in great condition when it arrived. I have yet to put it together, but when I do, I will add photos and adjust my star rating accordingly.

UPDATE: I have put it together and...I like it. It was a bit frustrating near the end (know that step 3 is tricky: I broke piece "A2" and was surprised when the superglue I used to fix the piece worked enough to make the flying machine work as intended). It WAS a learning experience, and I was surprised the end product looked as well as it did since the pieces seemed flimsy and cheap...but together they made something really cool. Guess anything's possible, ha! However, I will add that it is still a fragile piece when completed, as you cannot glue some of the pieces that slip when it is in movement as that would then prohibit the ability of the flying machine to move its' wings when winded up. And know that this device does not actually fly, it is just an amazing example of a great idea; however if you throw it in the air to see how it flies...well, gravity will take over and it will most likely fall immediately to the floor and break. This model of Da Vinci's flying machine is a fun, and a (mostly) un-stressful experience of building an idea, ONE of the amazing ideas Leonardo Da Vinci shared with us all. It's also a nice decorative piece, a great conversation starter - and most of all, you get the experience of being a part of it. Hope you find this review, along with the pics and video, helpful :-).

This kit was easy to build and came with illustrated instructions

Purchased for my 10 year old daughter who began showing an interest in Da Vinci in 3rd grade. This kit was easy to build and came with illustrated instructions, much like Lego instructions. She needed some assistance in building it to be sure parts were in the correct direction, but other than that any child with some parental help could build it. It took about 15 - 20 minutes to unpack and build. The completed product looks great and actually moves! You lock a lever, turn a gear to tighten a spring, unlock the lever and it flies! Well, it's wings flap, but it's very cool! Good purchase!

Bought this as a gift for my father. Despite all the instructions being in Korean, the images were detailed enough that he was able to put it together without any issue. Granted he is a seasoned model builder, but the step by step was quite explicit.

Motorized mechanism works great, only issue was the break is a little temperamental.

all in all quality product.

ONE STAR.. Not really sure about the product except everything is in Japanese. The products packaging, the name, the instructions and everything else that came with the product. The product shown for sell is not written in Japanese. No one in our house can read Japanese. There are a lot of small parts and the instructions are not a help because again they are in JAPANESE. I'm sorry but this was a Christmas gift and I am very very upset. THIS IS NOT WHAT WAS SHOWN IN PICS OR DESCRIBED.

I got this item as a gift for my brother-in-law. The box and instructions were all in Korean (no English manual as mentioned in the description for the item). My brother-in-law said he could probably manage due to the instructions containing images, and he also managed to find a YouTube video for it. Depending on how it goes, I may change the rating of this review if my brother-in-law is able to put it together successfully on his own and using the YouTube video...

Easy Da Vinci Build

My son was studying Da Vinci. He wanted to make his own flying machine. I bought him this one and he lived it. It was simple to put together, even though the directions were not in English. They provide steps with numbers and pictures. My son took about 15 minutes. It works and looks great.

This kit is exactly what I expected, is completely mechanical, you can assemble all the parts, some people complain about the instructions not been on english but the assembly instructions are pretty straightforward, I'm glad I bought two of them.

Just make sure the lock is fully in when you assemble, everything else is a cinch. Great choice esp. for Model display in school!

I had as much fun as my nephew did in putting this together. A little challenging with an appreciation for Da Vinci's design as well as that of the manufacturer -- a quality product and in presentation and functionality as well! Thank you for distributing this educational toy wonder!

I expected more than what it was. Its very small and plastic. My husband put it together in about 10 minutes. It's cool but I expected more.
