Stick with the classic version only!!!!!!!!by Irene Sadecki (5 out of 5 stars)

I purchased a trouble board game back in the 80's when I had my daughter. We have played this game over and over again throughout the years. I now have 2 grandsons and just recently pulled out the game again and they love playing it. So I decided to purchase another one for my shore home. I went to the stores and was shocked with the new versions. OMG!!!!! I don't think they can make it any cheaper. The game board is made out of paper and the dome over the dice is lower which provides less room for the dice to move. Absolutely terrible. They should be ashamed to be selling such products. So I went to amazon and found the classic version is still available for purchase. I received the game and was soooooooooo happy to find it is still the great board game as was my first purchase in the 80's. The board game is made of hard plastic and the dome is high so the dice really changes with each click. Whatever you do, DO NOT be swayed with the new versions with the cute pictures on the cover box. PURCHASE ONLY THE CLASSIC VERSION.
Decent game, bad, bad bad dice roller - its not random.

I love this game and as it takes me back in time.
Pros:
1. Looks similar to the original Trouble board game
2. Comes in a nice box
Cons:
1. The quality is not similar to the original classic Trouble, however its not bad too.
2. The most nagging issue is that the pop in dice roller does not generate random dice rolls. There are patterns that you can guess with the dice rolls, for instance, there is a very high chance that I will get a 1 after a roll of 6, or get a 2 after rolling 5. This defeats the purpose of using a dice. I ordered a replacement unit and it too had a similar issue.
On the whole, since I like the game, I am going to keep it, but I am really troubled by the pop up dice roll. It is so bad.
Lemon.

Trouble is an awesome game, but I definitely got a lemon. The issue I have is with the dice/popper. It seems that about 90% of the time, the dice will go back and forth between two numbers, (usually opposing sides.) So if one person rolls and 2, the other person will roll a 5. This will continue until you either shake the game board, or slam the dice popper so hard that the dice has to fly around inside. If it was worth the hassle, I'd return the game.
Brand new and defective out of the box

Bubble does not work and thus you can not roll the dice and actually play the game. Now before all the Amazon loyalists come at me, yes we can roll a separate dice and play. BUT and this is a big but, we bought this brand new and just now gave it to my daughter as a gift. It's broken and the return window has closed. What a rip off and bad Chinese manufacturing. Would not buy again
Worth the fun. Treasure your family time and enjoy some healthy competition.

This is a great game from my childhood and it's still fun today. I still love the bubble popper and it's fun to use strategy to win. It also teaches children how to lose with grace. And I personally think it's a great metaphor for life, b/c just when you think things are going great, you can end up all the way back where you started. And conversely, just when you think all is lost, you can end up winning! But along the way, it can help kids learn to tolerate having to "start over", and to be a good sport.
I wish more families would play games instead of watching TV. Not judging. But as a counselor, I can tell you, this is high quality time with your family that you can never get back once it's over. So, go for it and have fun!
Mediocre Quality

Purchased to replace a well worn out older one. There are a few aspects of this version that were not as good.
1. The clear plastic lens on the die was poorly molded and difficult to see the numbers on the die through.
2. The die popper spring was very stiff and difficult for the younger players to pop.
3. The plastic molded pegs had a few noticeable mold flaws.
The price was decent but would pay more to get a better quality product.
My kid loved it!

We bought this game a few months ago and in have nothing bad to say about it. My kid can easily understand the rules of the game and he has no problem pushing down the dice bubble. It's and easy game and helps with recognizing numbers and counting.
Best!!!

LOVE that is the old version rather than the new cheap remake! Came sealed in plastic. Kids are stoked & i'm happy they are down to a play board game i grew up playing!
Old school! Just like the one when you were a kid.

Just like when I was a kid (back in the '70s/'80s). Clear plastic shell covers and protects the ENTIRE board on top; turn it upside down and underneath the plastic shell is cardboard. Popper pops just like it should...ahhh, memories. The box it's stored in is really thick -- probably won't break the moment a kid steps in it on accident. Hated reading reviews that the Hasbro version is just cardboard over plastic (versus the other way around!) -- look up the reviews and search elsewhere for images. Can't believe how cheap n' cheesy they made this fun game. This one, by Winning Moves (and licensed by Hasbro) is the one you want.
Arrived damaged/defective, not once, but TWICE!

Love this game, however be prepared to have item arrive damaged. I don't believe its at the fault of Amazon, but of the manufacturer. Package arrived without damage but upon opening the game to play with my daughter, I found there to be a decent size crack in the middle piece that holds the dice. I then requested a replacement but that has arrived with the same damage, but also in addition, the replacement's dome was loose and didn't pop
