Headache Hat was a game changer for me!by Rachel G (5 out of 5 stars)

Backstory: I've had migraines for over 22 years. About 5 years ago, they turned chronic. Headache Hat changed my life. I know that sounds crazy, but hear me out.
Anyone with daily, chronic pain knows that it can take a toll not only on your life, but your family's. I've been stuck in dark rooms with blinding migraines more times than you would think is possible. I've helps dull the pain, but traditional ice packs are a pain to use because you either have to lie down on them or sit holding them to your head. I've tried almost every single wearable ice pack contraption out there - they are all AWFUL! They are either uncomfortable or only stay cold for about 15 minutes. The Headache Hat is not only comfortable, it lasts for HOURS! I love the fact that you can move the little ice cubes around within the band - this means that I can place the cubes directly on certain pressure points like my temples or forehead. It's a life changer because I can now wear it around while participating in activities with my husband, take my dogs out, or even drive if needed! (I'm attaching a photo of me wearing it while pumping gas, lol!) It doesn't look completely ridiculous if you need to wear it outside. I am a Headache Hat fangirl - this thing is AMAZING and has allowed me to do so many things I wasn't able to in the past!
The best at home treatment I could find

The Migraine Miracle! The Headache Hat!
You just read that and are rolling your eyes aren't you? You're quietly thinking to yourself that I must have been paid to write this, but I promise I have not. I am a CHRONIC, DAILY, MIGRAINE sufferer though. For 18 years I have been dealing with intense migraines and just within the past three years, they have become debilitating, and I have become mostly bedridden.
I have tried EVERYTHING to rid myself of my intense migraine pain! I have tried; Physical Therapy, Chiropractic, Traditional Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Neurologists, Acupuncture, a Nutritionist, an Eye Doctor, an Allergist, my PCP, Pain Clinics, Massage Therapy, and the two other 'ice hats' on the market. Until I found this Headache Had nothing worked for me!
Before finding the Headache Hat, the best at home treatment I could find, were refillable ice bags (think of the things that cartoon characters put on their heads where they're sick). The problem with refillable ice bags though, is that they melt, and they melt fast. They also give off air as they melt, making the ice bag into a big cushion, unless you keep lifting your head up to release the air. And let me tell you, when I'm in that much pain, I just want to lay in the dark, with my ice, and say a prayer that I can fall asleep. Which, you cannot do with the aforementioned ice bag.
So? you're wondering, what makes this any better? Why is this such a miracle? First, it stays cold the longest out of any of the 3 major ice hats currently on the market, One of those ice hats loses the icy feel after about 20 minutes. And, the other ice hat, is just awkward and comes with very low quality ice packs. Now, THIS HAT is AWESOME! It retains the cold temperature for over an hour, which is easily 3x the length of any other product. There is also no melting! So your pillows won't be wet, and you don't have to deal with inflating that happens when ice melts. It is perfect to pull over your eyes! The fabric is so much softer than the other two ice hats, plus it comes with a nice fuzzy cloth that you can put between your head and the Headache Hat (personally, I don't find I need this, but it is nice to have). The best parts for me though, are the enduring cold, how comfortably it fits and can cover your eyes, and the fact that I've fallen ASLEEP wearing it! That's right, I've fallen ASLEEP. I literally did not think this was possible, It is that cold and that comfortable! I cannot recommend these highly enough! I NOW OWN THREE!
Before I wrap this up, I've read some questions about getting extra ice cubes and, if you're like me and like COLD, COLD, you can treat yourself to extra ice cubes at just $5 a set, before shipping. I found that two additional orders of the cubes are just perfect for me, but it is totally personal preference! I used mine with no additional ice cubes, for a good amount of time and decided on a whim to order additional cubes, and it just happens that for me, those extra ice cubes make for the PERFECT experience.
I LOVE this warrior of a Headache Hat and I know you will too!
If you know a migraine sufferer, this is a must have for them. Personally, I think hospitals should keep them on hand for migraine patients who have to be admitted.
I'm not fanatical about very many things in life, but I am over the moon about this. I promise you, you will fall in love with it too.
And as the icing on the cake, the owner of the company is beyond incredible. She truly wants to help people and, if you have to contact for any reason, she will make you feel as if you've found a new friend.
If you only do one thing for yourself this year, let it be purchasing one of these. It will be the best thing you ever did!
Ineffective. High price. Minimal relief. Keep your money.

I am not a fan. From the pictures, it looks like it covers the top of the head, but it doesn't. It's ridiculously expensive for what it is. It fell off my head every time I bent over and I got the regular sized one. And the little ice packets inside are very hard when frozen (like an actual ice cube, not like any of the many frozen gel packs available) so sometimes you put it on and lie down and feel like you have 40 rocks pressing against your head. I am rather confused about why so many people like it. I use the theramed cold headache band that is a fraction of the price and much more comfortable and effective. It has a gel inside so there is nothing brick hard pressing against my head. I think they are about $5 each. I keep a bunch in the freezer and switch them out when they lose their chill. This was a bad purchase and I just didn't get around to returning it in time.

I bought the headache hat yesterday & puy it in the freezer in its own special bag. I woke up this a.m. with throbbing temples aching forehead and cervical spine. I wad about to take an expensive migraine pill when I remembered the migraine hat. I put on on along with my new cervical ice pack. I've had it on for 2 hrs, no meds yet, my sinuses drained, and did a few chores and the pain has lessened greatly. I can keep turning this hat over to get the colder side. Yes! Ahh. Writing this review on my cell phone is making it a little worse, so I don't reccomend that. But, otherwise I would be on 3 lunch ice packs on and holding one on my head. This is a 1000 times better because I get to sit up. Laying down again just adds to the prob. I reccomend this product being a 48yr migraine sufferer!

I have had this product which describes it as a hat but in reality is a long rectangular ice pack made up of individual blocks of cold material that freezes. You wrap the rectangular ice blocks around your head to make is look like it is a hat. It actually has helped for my headaches and stays cold at least 20 minutes. the individual ice blocks are very hard so it isn't comfortable to lay down with it on your head. Still, for those who suffer migraines it is a great solution for icing your whole head. Just be aware that the top is open since is isn't a hat. Since it opens to a rectangle, you can also put is around the base of you neck. I use it frequently and have purchased a second one since it only stays cold for twenty minutes.
Super comfortable!

LOVE this headache hat! I've been suffering from NDPH:New Daily Persistent Headaches for almost a year now. I'm a kindergarten teacher, so unfortunately I've been out on disabilty since 2/17/17. I have headaches EVERY day. Some days better than others. This past weekend I've had a terrible headache for 2 straight days so far. The only relief I've gotten is from this AMAZING headache hat. I love how flexible it is and that it has the extra soft felt material on one side so that you don't get brain freeze. I put the whole hat in the freezer so that it's ready to go when I need it. I suggest you put it in a zip lock bag so that the material won't pick up the freezer smell. When I'm ready to use it, I add a few drops of peppermint oil on the materiel. I find the aroma very soothing. You could also use lavendar, rosemary or basil oil. It would be great if the small ice packs could be purchased separately though. To have an extra set in the freezer ready to go when the ones being used melt but the headache still continue... that way I don't have to purchase a second hat. I would recommend this hat 100%!!!
A must-try for headache sufferers

After reading reviews, I gave in and purchased the Original Headache Hat to try. I often get headaches from a variety of causes and, as many headache sufferers can probably agree, will try anything to get rid of them as fast as possible.
I've used regular ice packs in the past, but you have to hold onto the ice pack, and usually wrap it in a towel to avoid freezing your fingers. I like that the Original Headache Hat is hands-free and is comfortable enough to fall asleep in.
When attempting to sleep with a headache, I like applying pressure to my head by sleeping on my stomach and pressing different areas of my head into my pillow. Normally a back or side sleeper, this isn't comfortable for my back. The Original Headache Hat fits snugly around my head and is perfect for simultaneously providing pressure and the comforting/cooling/numbing effects of the ice pack. It's too cold for me to wear as is, so I highly recommend using the fleece fabric inside the hat (provided in the package). So far, I think its great! You can undo its velcro, and lie it flat over your shoulders and neck area, too. It's a must-try for headache sufferers!
Just bought another in addition to the one I bought previously so I'll have one in the freezer alway

Absolutely love the Headache Hat. The ice feels really good, but what I think I especially love the most is the way that you can tighten the stretch around for tension in the right places. I can either cover my eyes and listen to soft music to relax, or keep my eyes open so I can get things done when necessary. I was actually going to get a swim cap, to give tension to my head, but saw this and the thought of coolness and covering the eyes by this made it better. I also get super hot in the summer here in Ky, so I want to get a couple more for me and my husband when we go anywhere to have coolness in the unbearable heat of Ky summers PLUS my head will be feeling good so thank you!
Very comforting

My husband suffers from chronic daily headaches and often uses ice packs to help with relief. When I saw this, I thought it was perfect for him. Right off the bat, I was a little disappointed when unboxing it. First, I was expecting this to be very soft, like a gel type material that would be frozen. Instead, the pack is made of several small square cubes filled with water that freezes. Laying down with this on the head is very uncomfortable, since the frozen cubes dig into your head (think about laying on a hard, irregular surface). It's also problematic if you freeze it without making sure it's laying out flat. If that happens, the cubes freeze irregularly and dig into your head.
As long as you lay it out properly, it does help with headaches, offering at least 2 hours of icy relief.
Great for Migraines

This is a life saver. When my family has a migraine headache, they appreciate the relief. It is a bit small for my husbands head, I wish they made a longer one for men. Good size for small and medium sized heads. For men with medium large, or large heads it might be too small. When I put it on my husband, I use an ankle wrap with velcro that I purchased at the 99 cent store for one dollar to keep it in place. Even if it is too small, my husband gets a lot of relief. You still need to take your usual pain relief pill/s, but it shortens the duration of your headache or migraine. In my experience headache will go away in 20-30 min and a migraine in 30-60 min. My husband used to have to go to the hospital for his migraines. He learned that spicy food, stress, and lack of sleep triggered his migraines. Now he tries to eliminate his triggers, but still gets migraines occasionally. When he does, he used to not want any help with them. Now, he asks me to put the headache hat on him. It comes with a thin fleece wrap to place on your head first before you wrap the ice pack around. The fleece is also too small for my husband. My friend used it once and wanted to get one for herself and her mom because along with
