Beware product variations... Very disappointed
by Amazon Customer (1 out of 5 stars)

I first purchased this product in February, and absolutely loved it. It was soft, silky, and more comfortable than I could hope. Aside from some light seepage around the nose, when incorrectly positioned, it worked perfectly and stretched to the face. Unfortunately I lost it during a move.

HOWEVER, when I purchased the product again, from the same link, same color, same BTB01 designation, I received a completely different product with a Bedtime Bliss logo. The sleep mask I received, while black and the same shape, is a scratchy, plasticky foam with a harsh ridge along the edges that almost feels sharp when on your face. The material is abrasive and itchy. It is far more rigid, leaving a huge gap at the nose and the top of the forehead for light to enter. It also smells terrible!

Beware, you may receive what seems to be a cheap knockoff instead of the product raved about in comments below.

A three month return policy, but it falls apart on month four.
by Andrew Cybulska (2 out of 5 stars)

I ordered a Bedtime Bliss Sleep Mask on April 27th from Amazon. I've been happily using it for the past few months, but lately it's starting to literally come apart at the seams.

I know sleep masks eventually get worn out, but after 4 months? A five dollar sleep mask I bought at Target lasted much much longer than this (though to be honest it wasn't half as comfy.)

I reached out to Bedtime Bliss via their website, but their Twitter has never been tweeted from, their Instagram page is empty, and their Facebook page is sparse. If you reach out to their support email, beware of a typo in that. It's actually "support@bedtimebliss.org" NOT "tosupport@bedtimebliss.org."

I *just* sent an email out so I'm not expecting a response for a little bit. Hopefully I can get a replacement.

It's pretty good. Wish it didn't have the logo right on the front of the mask.

I feel like we are a few designs away from the perfect sleep mask: this isn't it. But it's closer than any other I've tried. It keeps most light out, but not all - depending on how much you move around at night, they can fall out of position easily. I sure wish the logo wasn't on the front of the mask. That's what loses an extra star for me. It just looks silly. Not that anyone important is seeing it, but I just dont like being reminded of what company made my sleep mask every time I put it on. It's intrusive (sorry if I sound nuts, it's just the truth!) I guess if you wanted to market to my wife, Bedtime Bliss, you've succeeded. She can't help but be reminded you made my sleepmask every single morning. So, good thinking on the logo idea.

Falling apart

After two years of regular use, the face sided lining is coming apart from the padded foam. Given the price I'm not overly surprised and yet still disappointed.

Fell apart within 6 months of use

The Sleep Mask is the 4th nighttime mask I've used over the past few years. When it came, the fit was a little bit loose around the head, but nothing too off.

My bigger concern is that inside pads of the eye mask fell apart within 6 months of use. You get what you pay for, I guess.

Needs Improvements
by D. Gallardo (3 out of 5 stars)

While this mask does block out the light due to its opacity (which would be obvious) it has some design flaws that are undeserving of a 5 star review.

First, the part that comes into contact with my face is not soft, as I had expected. I don't know what this is made of, but it seems like a nylon weave. Whatever the material, it is susceptible to melting, and it looks like a heat knife of some kind was used to cut out the shape. If you have any experience with melting nylon, you know that it hardens after melting. So, around the edges of this mask, where a heat knife was used to shape, there are sharp (relatively) edges that make contact with my face. Initially this is no big deal, but after 8 hours, and possibly some tension from shifting in sleep, it can leave red marks and irritation that is embarrassing and painful.

Next, the straps that are used to hold it in place have hook and loop fasteners, which seems like an obvious choice. However, sleeping on hook and loop fasteners causes serious skin irritation and itching, and can even pull out hair if you shift enough while sleeping.

Lastly, there are gaps around the bridge of the nose. Maybe that's dude to my face shape, but regardless, it doesn't function 100%. The gaps can be eliminated if I find a way to lay on the straps to keep tension on the mask, but then the increased tension causes deeper sleep lines from the sharp edges of the mask.

One improvement I would recommend for this mask is to add a soft fabric layer to the part that makes contact with the face. I recommend black terry cloth. This would soften the edges, fill the gaps, and provide more of a cushioned feel, as well as some possible temperature control.

HATE it
by Kelsey (1 out of 5 stars)
June 28, 2017

I hate this sleep mask so much! Nothing about it was pleasant. It wouldn't stay on for any time at all (even though I tightened it to an almost uncomfortable tightness around my head so it wouldn't fall off), as soon as I turned onto my side (which is how I sleep) it slid out of position because of the contoured eyes, it wasn't comfortable to wear, and to top it off it didn't even block the light well! I thought the contoured shape would allow less light through, but there was a lot of light coming through. After one night I switched back to my cheap mask that was all stretched out and would barely stay on anymore, because even that was better than this crappy one!! Horrible, horrible mask.

Awesome mask, but needs some modifications.
by Lydia Z (4 out of 5 stars)

I really like this eye mask, the mask itself is very comfortable and it blocks out all the light. I can even laying in the living room with all the windows open in the middle of the day and take a nap with no problem!

However, the elastic strap leaves a lot to be desired. It has velcro attachments that even at the smallest option were too big for me. I cut them off and sewed the strap to fit. However, it hurt my ears. Either the top of them when I tried to push the strap above them or the cartilage when I tried to let the elastic lay over my ears.

Luckily, I'm fairly crafty and was able to fix this issue with some spare elastic and my sewing machine. The straps now go completely around my ears and don't touch them at all.
I highly recommend do this since the mask itself is very comfortable and well worth the money and time to adjust them.

Simple product done exactly right
by Monica G. Bacian (5 out of 5 stars)

I often get headaches caused by sensory processing sensitivity. This product is perfect for when my senses are overloaded and I need to take a little break.

The contoured eye mask blocks out all light, and is so light weight it feels like you're not wearing anything.

The earplugs are comfortable and effective.

It's a simple product done exactly right. I'll be a continuing customer.
