Works as advertised but be WARNED PLEASE READ THIS!

This is a five star idea however be warned unless your TV slash monitor has a HARD class like surface it will not stick to it. This product is not meant for LCD screens or any screen that has a softer surface, they even mention this on there website Q&A at HipShotDot.com. I was able to get it to stick to my BenQ gaming monitor for a short time but it left a small white circle where the cup stuck to it, the circle has since gone away but I would be afraid long term use my cause permanent damage.

The idea behind this is to make you aware of where the center of your view is witch is very helpful being as I personally have a bad habit of looking down all the time and when an enemy runs by it can make it hard to snap on them. With a dot in the center to remind you of exactly where your going to be looking, it almost allows you to pre aim in a way. Also the dot provide by the HipShot is a little large witch on a big TV wouldn't be an issue but a smaller TV or monitor it can block your view a little bit of where the target is at a range.

The simple, cheap and monitor safe solution to work around this is to buy a plastic screen protector for a smart phone, cut it into a small square and then place it in the center of your screen, then aim your gun and with a red Sharpie mark right at the tip of your gun sight. I tested this extensively, the smart phone screen protectors don't leave a residue of any kind on the monitor and can be removed with CARE when you no longer need it. Just keep in mind when your putting it on or taking it off remember it doesn't take a lot of pressure to crack and LCD screen but it also doesn't take much pressure to apply or remove the screen protector:)

Here is brand I used and think works best for this purpose, feel free to copy and paste the link below:

If your not worried like me about your tv, then it's a good product

Does it help? Yes especially if you play hardcore games. The problem is putting it on and taking it off constantly. I don't know about you guys but I don't just use my Tv to play first person shooters. I watch movies, shows or play other games that don't require that red dot sitting in the center of my screen. Every time u take it off you have to keep having to set it up perfectly in the right spot for it to work, and you do have to put a little pressure for the suction cup to stick on. I have an expensive tv, and everytime I'm placing that thing on and off, it makes me wonder if this is good for my tv, not to mention it makes it dirty right where you place the red dot. It works yes, but is it worth the hassle and worth possibly damaging your tv. Look it up. Is touching your tv screen and putting slight pressure good for the sceen? it's not from what I have researched so unfortunately I returned the product but I'm also not going to lie and rate it low saying it doesn't help your gaming, especially for those into hardcore modes.

Will help, but can be too bright depending on what you are playing.

Bought this for gaming on a PC. Regarding the suction cup design, I found that if I wet the cup just slightly before affixing it to the monitor it adheres very well and goes on with only a TEENSY amount of pressure. The quick release that was built into it works perfectly too, releasing cleanly without pulling on the monitor. I could see it being very easy to get carried away though and for someone more heavy handed to accidentally thumb mash a dead spot into their monitor. I recommend just being VERY careful if you're sticking this to a LCD monitor, and don't push harder than your wallet can afford.

So far I have been able to use this to great success regardless of the on/off routine. My KD ratio has increased in the games that I bother to keep track of it, and it gives me an edge against better players online, which is nice. My only gripe, it would be very VERY nice to have some sort of inline brightness control, even if it increases the cost a bit. The brightness of the dot stands out well at this level against backdrops like the color palette found in Doom, but I find that with particularly dark games like Escape from Tarkov that the dot is overwhelming when moving through dark areas, and can actually make it more difficult to acquire a target, especially when it's a small shadow against another slightly lighter shadow... I think this product would benefit from an even smaller LED as well. I know they exist, and a smaller LED which can be turned up or down would be perfect for PC gaming on a desktop. Maybe it's time for a new model to compliment this one? Or RGB integration which would allow the user more control over it?

TL/DR, Great product, certainly achieves what I wanted it too for the most part, but overall it can become distracting with the large dot and being too bright at times.

Best to have ambient lighting
by Eric Leppert (5 out of 5 stars)
January 18, 2019

Like many, I was skeptical at first on how much this would really help improve my game. I found it is best to have a mild amount of ambient lighting in the room you are playing in. Otherwise the dot appears to have a bit of halo around it making it more difficult to use. The biggest improvement that I found while use it was I was having an easier time lining up shots especially when ADS and I found myself using other weapons that I normally wasn't comfortable using because I didn't like the sight picture when ADS.

The first round I used it I went 21 and 5 on Battlefield 5. Normally I have a good K/D ratio of about 1.5 to upwards of 3 on a really good match. I thought it was a one time deal. I played for about 2 hours that day and I didn't have a single match with a K/D less than 2 with most matches a K/D of between 3 and 4. Also, I am a casual gamer. I love FPS games but I only play about 10 hours per week if that. I'm not a school aged kid who gets in 4+ hours every day after school and even more on weekends.

This thing is awesome. Helped my Call of Duty greatly (the good ones, Modern warfare remastered) doesn't help you fly a jet pack. It fixed my gaming but not the mistakes made by certain futuristic games with said jetpacks. After some pokes and prods from my friends I did notice my K/D got much better. Please just know this is not a miracle fix. It still does take some skill. Just helps you get faster by knowing where your shot is going before you even aim. Great job guys. P.S. The friends that picked on me now own these as well.

TOTALLY WORTH IT!

Being an avid BF4 hardcore online player, this eliminates the worry about losing your reticle in hardcore games. I noticed this especially improved my aim while riding in vehicles with mini-gun turrets. I was able to track and not just damage, but shoot down jets much more effectively from the attack boat and transport chopper mini-guns!

UPDATE: If you have a pet (cat) that likes to chew on things like flowers, BEWARE! One of ours chewed on the suction cups and this was ruined after two night... fml...

Great for snipers.

This really helps for when i want to play without my glasses on. Also, when it comes to sniping, it helps me to learn where my scope is before i scope in, letting me acquire my target and line up with their head before going down scope.

Love this thing

It definitely helps me. I'm able to keep my sight exactly where I want it when I'm walking or running. I can now accurately sight around corners, through windows and doors, and hip shot with more success as I pull up to aim. I find that it does give me a slight advantage and am regularly in the top 3 now.

You have to do everything you can when you're getting smoked by 10 year olds and you can hear their prepubescent voices laughing at you!
