Breaks So easy, warranty is meh. Keep looking for another chairby Sara L. Guldi (1 out of 5 stars)

I was so excited to get this chair. Giddy, ecstatic, a cooler?! a bottle opener?! and umbrella?! RECLINES?!... I was going to have the most comfortable seat for the beach / camping / kid's sports. I got it last August, and used it to watch about 7 youth football games. We took it camping once. We took it to the beach twice. In those 10 times I used I , I reclined it 1 time. It was stored in the bag after every use and placed on our "chair shelf" in our garage. And after those 10 uses - it disintegrated... I have chairs that I paid 9.97 for that have held up better than this. The recline mechanism broke on the one side, again just once after using it. The button dislocated in the chair leg, so the one side is perpetually reclined (I did add a zip tie to try to diminish the leaning). The fabric on the chair back also ripped. So now it has no usable back. I am not overweight. I am well within the "capacity" of this chair. By almost double. So then I looked at the warranty, because I have had this chair 7 months and a few days as of today, and it has been sitting useless for a month while I decide what to do. The problem is NOT just the chair, the warranty is likely designed for it to never be used. here is what it reads: [If your product breaks within the warranty period, please call Customer Service for a RA #. After receiving this number, return the defective product with the number clearly indicated and a warranty replacement will be shipped to you free of charge. All shipping charges on ALL returns will be at the buyer's expense. Only valid in the USA] So I calculated the shipping on the chair, and just shipping cost, (ignoring the fact that I have to pack for packaging it - irregular shape) is $29.28. Again that is just shipping. So I have to buy a whole 'half' of another chair, to get a replacement, that may fall apart in just 6- months too, with less than a dozen uses?! And if that one breaks, I will have then bought 2 chairs for one. Quality is poor, and warranty is a joke, if you live across the country as I do, it is great for those in CA (because shipping so much closer) and be certain, you are going to need it. Clearly they don't really mean to back up this chair with a half-hearted warranty like that. This chair, that for the amount of money they charge, should last more than 10 uses.
Heartbroken in Hawaii with Broken Chairs...

We are stationed in Hawaii and my parent decided to buy me this chair for beach day. It was great. I pulled it out of Amazin's big blue gift bag and couldn't be happier until the first trip to the beach. My chair broke. I was so sad. The button that lets the chair lean back vanished and my chair is in limbo on one side. So unless I want to sit crooked (red chair picture), I have to leave my chair in constant recline. Which is fine if you want to lay back at the beach. But if you want to read or people watch, your neck gets strained (picture attached of how my husband must sit to read because his chair is stuck on recline because the button that is to lock the chair went into the pole and won't come out - also pictured).
However, a friend of mine saw the chair and asked me what I thought. I didn't mention the problem with mine because I guessed it was a fluke. She ordered hers and they were good.... Until she used them a few time. But during the time her chairs worked I bought my husband one because he wanted one and since it seemed that my friends chair worked perfect, that again, my luck just wasn't meant to be. However, then my husband's chair broke on the 2nd use. So angry. Especially since he got the chair and then had to go to a military school for 2 months and when he returned we went to the beach before he had to return to work.
So... When people on the beach come over to fawn on our chairs, I tell them, "don't do it. Out of the two we own and the two I recommended to a friend to buy, 4 broke. Not 50% were faulty. Not 75%. But 100% were faulty. Don't waste your money because they aren't cheap."
Great concept. Poorly made.

Here's a few things I like and dislike about this chair. I still gave it 5 stars even though there are a couple of dislikes.
I'm 5'10" and about 215lbs and the chair fits me perfectly with room to grow (up or out)...
Likes:
Foot rest is adjustable in height
Foot rest is removable if you just want a normal camping chair
Umbrella is removable
Umbrella can be mounted on either side of chair
Lots of storage! An insulated right pocket can easily fit 2 cans and an ice pack.
Front pocket between legs is about the size of a small pencil case for storing things other than pencils. Also has a bottle opener on the front pocket!
Left arm rest includes a cup holder
Left arm rest includes a pocket for your mobile device large enough to fit a Galaxy S7 Edge and includes a hole to pass ear buds through if you want to zip your device in the pocket.
Reclines to two additional positions (3 position total).
Carrying case easily fits chair and accessories so you don't have struggle when packing it up.
Sturdy and stable, and bars don't dig into thighs like other camping chairs.
Dislikes:
There should be another oversized cup holder on the other arm rest.
Umbrella only seems to adjust front to back, it could be difficult to block sun if it was coming at you from the side as it doesn't bend left to right, only front to back. But the shade itself can be rotated which helps.
7/6/16 CON update: The shade/umbrella is very flimsy in the wind. It doesn't take much wind at all to shake the shade violently. I would be concerned that shade could break very easily. Especially where it attaches to the chair. So if you're planning on using this at the beach, hope that it's not a windy day...
Honestly, that is it. This is a great camping chair and makes people jealous for sure. I am an RV'er and in my 30's and absolutely love this chair.

I was really excited to get this chair. I received it last Tuesday and used it for the first time the following day. By that Saturday the chair had already broken in 2 places. The stitches in the left arm tore and the rubber piece on the right arm that keeps the arm up had cracked in half causing the arm to fall flat. After speaking to the manufacturer, I was going to exchange it this week for a new one, but then the right side recline broke and while sitting in it, it will randomly loose its lock and fall to a full recline on the right side only. I reset it thinking it was a fluke, but it has happened 6 times in the last hour. For the amount they charge for this you would think you are getting a quality product, but my $5 chair from big lots lasted much longer and is still working. This is a completely garbage product that a decent person would be ashamed of selling for $20, let alone $60.
The footrest connection is poorly design and BREAKS!

We bought two of these chairs - they looked so good on paper. They worked great the first time we used them, and used them a week. We then went out a second time, and I removed a footrest this time (so I could the chair at a table), and reinstalled the footrest later - only to find that the footrest connection assembly was cracked and broke! In looking at it further, the design of this footrest connects to the front chair legs via a threaded ball and socket assembly - but the socket plastic broke on one leg, and is cracked on the other. The second chair also looks cracked. They could have done a far better (and simpler) job in making the footrest removable without the stress points that cause this to crack. For the two chairs, I'm now out $120, but don't have time to return them before my next trip, so I have attempted to repair them. I expect they will break again. Lousy design for connecting the footrest - If I had more time before my next trip, I'd return these. I really liked the idea of a reclining chair with a footrest - but this needs better engineering! The photos I attached show the cracked socket, and I drilled out the rivet holding the ball in the leg (this is mid-way during my attempt at repairing this). I put a metal washer inside the socket - at least it will spread out the stresses better than the plastic, but I don't expect this repair to last long either. I might have to throw the footrest away if I can't find a better way to attach it. It has the ball and socket on the lower end, and uses a camlock buckle at the upper end. They could have used camlock buckles on both the upper and lower, but used the socket instead - too bad!
Amazing...until TWO broke in the same spot.

I bought two of these chairs as a surprise for my boyfriend at the end of June, and we were both instantly obsessed. I'm 5'3" and he's 6'4" and we were both able to find them comfortable which can be tough with the height difference. Unfortunately, after only a few uses (maybe 5?), the foot rest on BOTH chairs broke, in the exact same spot. All 4 straps just shredded along the fabric. Neither of us is even near the weight limit (each well under 200 lbs and the limit is 250 lbs), so I know it wasn't from that. I'm just so disappointed. I was so excited to use these for football season! Bummer.
Proceed with caution when purchasing from Amazon Warehouse Deals. 5% surface damage? I think not!! :

We LOVE these chairs and own two others. THIS issue is that chair was offered through Amazon Warehouse Deals described as "minor surface damage 5%." NOT SO. The nut that screws the leg support onto the base of the chair was broken off; We tried to use the chair by supporting the broken side and attaching the other not broken side...then the good side broke completely. Again it was the connecting nut to the footrest on the other side also broke completely off. My husband is very handy and he will try to make something to connect the footrest to make it usable...otherwise it is just a beach chair.
I am hesitant to leave this review out of concern that folks will see one star and dismiss the chair. We have two others and they are awesome. THIS ONE should not have been resold because it was defective and most people would not be able to fix it. Amazon Warehouse Deals: Be More Careful!
Fell apart after 2 days

I took my Sportsbrells camping for 3 days and the first two days was awesome! Umbrella worked fantastic, kept sun off, provided excellent shade. On the third day the fabric tore loose on the arm. I figured it was just a slight flaw so was planning on sewing it. Upon packing it up the bottle opener broke off. Basically fell off. When I got home and unpacked the chair the umbrella fell off. I guess the stress of a 3 day camping trip was too much. I'm 5'7" and weigh 175 so I didn't feel like this was too much stress on the chair. Just normal use and it fell apart. First two days I loved it! Comfortable, easy to adjust, lots of pockets and storage areas. Keeps drinks cool & snacks safe when zipped up in arm rest. Was ready to give five stars but then it just fell apart. Will keep this one and repair but was extremely disappointed. For the price I paid I expected better quality.
it never made an entire season before it broke again.

Update: July 10th, not half way through the season and the umbrella attained to the chair completely fell appart. This is extremely annoying. I relay a lot on customer feedback, and I took the chance. I will make an attempt to contact the company to see what they say. If Amazon monitors feedback, they should strongly consider removing this item.
Update - this chair did not even last an entire season. The ball clip that holds the chair in the different positions brook while I was st the beach today. I am so disappointed.
Update. So the original chair was replaced in two days. This one has screws holding the front part of the arms, which the other one did not.
I am using it today at the beach, so let's see how it holds up.
Very disappointed. I used this chair once and the stitching around the arm has separated. I am going to contact the seller and see what they say..
Second purchase, great chair

My son plays a lot of city sports and this has been perfect for the long days and nights on the sidelines. It is comfy for long hours sitting and keeps me from getting sunburned. I had my fist chair for 3 years before it broke (to be honest, I pushed the weight limits all those years) and immediately went to rebut another one.
The leg rest part buckles in and out so you can remove it to make climbing onto the chair easier if you have short legs or limited mobility (my husband does so, but my legs are longer so I do not). I've never used the under seat pocket or bottle opener but they might be perfect for someone else.
I have found that my larger water cups do not fit in the cup holders, so I set them down in the little mini Cooper on the right armrest instead.
The umbrella switches to the left or right sides easily (I kept the one from my old chair so now I have one on each side!)
Overall, the best chair we've had of this type.
