Pricey prints but lovely to share.by Amazon Customer (4 out of 5 stars)

I love this thing. It's small, and can take it with me to parties and outings. I love having this portable thing that lets me share physical photos. It's cumbersome to try to print as soon as you take the photos, so I find it best to just print your best shots after the matter. You'll spend less than a minute per print. The reprint button is a nice feature to make multiples of the last photo printed.
The drawback is that it gets expensive very quickly. Instant film costs any where from $0.65 - $1.25 a print depending on sales and coupons and bulk. Batteries are also expensive. A pair of CR2 batteries lasts about 60 non-consecutive prints. Fortunately, you can plug it in with an additional power supply ac/dc adapter cord.
Tough decision between the instax camera and this printer
by Brooke Bikneris (5 out of 5 stars)

I had a hard time deciding whether or not I wanted to go with a Fuji Instax Mini camera, or this printer. Mainly my concern for the camera itself was that the images would be twice as bad, as far as image quality, since they were produced by an instant camera and on instant film. In the end I decided that I would go with the printer. I transferred images I took with other cameras to my phone and went from there. It is a lot faster to save them to your phone gallery than to print them from the Social Media option (namely Facebook). It wasn't terribly slow, but it was pretty instant from my phone's gallery. It is easy to load, easy to use and the images are quite good for instant film like this. My girls and I went through a whole pack of film last night and absolutely love them. The black and white images (quite nice) printed better than the color images. But they weren't terrible, just softly washed out. Of course, the bolder the image color you print makes a difference. The images I chose to print were very sharp, and printed nicely. This was a very fun purchase. I would absolutely buy it again if I needed to.
Perfect Gift

This is the perfect gift for anyone!
I bought this as a birthday gift for my best friend. I told her that I bought this because we all have the same problem: we have a ton of pictures on our cell phones and we don't do anything with them...until now! She loved it. We tried it out immediately and I was impressed by the quality of the pictures. No, it's not as sharp as a normal picture, but it looks pretty darn good. It looks the way a polaroid picture would look. The printer is tiny and easy to setup (under 5 minutes). The picture is the size of a credit card. So cute. I'll be buying one for myself now.
I LOVE THIS PRINTER

I LOVE THIS PRINTER. It's cheaper on Amazon that anywhere I've searched. After months of eyeing the Instax Share I finally took the plunge when a friend gave me a gift card. I use this constantly. Although I have the wide camera, Fuji Instax 210, I use the printer much more often because with the cameras you risk blurry photos and accidents. I take photos with my iPhone 5, add filters, toss in digital stickers sometimes and just hit print. It's been the best for journaling and sharing actual prints in an instant with friends and family.
I definitely recommend the printer over purchasing any of the cameras.
Know the Quality You Want Before You Purchase

So here is the thing... instax photos don't print well. Think back to 197ps Poloroid (but smaller) however... I knew that when I bought it and had seen the prints in person. So I knew that. I love the size and I love the washed out vintage look. Poloroid instant printers print better (like the pogo) but if you want a small printer for quick pix the Cannon Selphy is the best quality (it's 4x6 prints but you can use apps to do all kinds of crops and borders cut them out). I have all three! The instax prints Super fast and is fun to watch develop. I am only giving it 4 stars because the wall chord is not included (sold separately) and at this price it should include the wall plug in.
Lower quality than Instax cameras, requires smartphone, expensive film
by Mack R (4 out of 5 stars)

The Instax SP-1 is basically a printer that uses the Instax film (same as used in the instax cameras). These give a way to print out photos from your smart phone or camera* without needing to use the Instax camera.
The printer is nice and compact.. it's about as small as it can be and is pretty solid. I've seen some thin cases for it but I don't think they're necessary.
The printer uses the Instax Mini film (not the WIDE film) and loads the same as the Instax cameras. When turned on, it shows 2 sets of lights: Film remaining and Battery level. Battery is rated at 100 prints but use 2x CR2 batteries which aren't too common.
Once film is loaded, you need to print out all 10 shots before opening it. Opening the printer/film compartment before using all 10 shots will ruin the rest of the roll. I mention this to state you cannot print 5 shots and then move the film pack to the Instax camera. Once it's in, it's in.
When turned on, it transmits a wifi signal (INSTAX). Connect your smartphone to this signal, open the App and select/edit the photo you wish to print. Printing takes about 10-15 seconds to come out and another 5 minutes or so to develop.
I found the print quality to be lower than a photo taken with an Instax camera - this is probably due to the way the printer transfers the image to the film. You do get the benefit of seeing the photo before printing it.. with an Instax camera you can't see it until it's been printed and may lose an exposure if it didn't work out. On the other hand, one of the nice things about film are that you don't know what it looks like until you print it.
There is no SD or card reader, or even USB input. You need to use the app (or a newer Fuji camera) to print to the SP-1, limiting its usability. This also means that if the app gets taken down or gets a bad update (creating errors) the printer is unusable.
The film is also somewhat expensive. Usually costing the equivalent of $0.75 per sheet (sold in packs of 20) it can be expensive to trial and error with it.
Compared to the other small printers like the ZINC from polaroid, the selling point on the SP-1 is that it's not a totally clear photo, it's an instant film looking print with bad colors and clarity. An odd selling point, but a neat effect/look.
You do lose the originality with the SP-1. With an Instax camera each print is unique, with the SP-1 it's just re-printing images (as many times as you'd like), taking away some of the appeal.
Overall, happy with it. It's just a bit pricey (printer and film) and limited (requiring an app)

Stopped working after 8 months so i returned it...but for the time it was working it was really amazing.
Picture Quality- Awesome. They are as crisp as can be and the colors are perfect. I could not tell a difference between the prints and seeing the pictures on my phone. This is key for me! I did a comparison between the Fujifilm prints and the Polaroid Zink paper. On the Zink paper the colors are way off and the picture is distorted.
Picture Size- The pictures are a bit small but not in a bad way. Because they are the that old school Polaroid style, there is space that the white border takes up. Also, these pictures are a bit thick, not like a classic picture at all. This is only an issue if you regularly keep a travel book and are putting all of these thick little pictures in it.
Portability- Very light. Small enough that you can toss it into any purse or bag but it's too big for your pocket.
Picture Price- Even with the best deal these pictures end up being about $1 dollar each and you run through them very quickly. The other products sell their pictures for about half that price but they are not the same quality.
Battery- This is the truly bad thing about this model. It is not rechargeable. You have to get those little CR 2 (i think) batteries which can really be a hassle.
Probably my coolest impulse buy of all time

I have always had a fascination with the old school Polaroid photos on film. I did the research and this seemed like the best buy out of the various types on smartphone film printers out there. The app is simple to use and very straight forward--cant beat it. When the package arrived I was very excited to dive into it as I have been taking pictures for a wedding project. I printed off various images for a collage and it took a little while and a lot of film but now the whole thing turned out great with this stellar retro look. The printer itself is a very compact and convenient size, the film it prints on is about the size of a credit card. I would say the only cons to this is the expensive, and specific film that it takes, and it does not have the ability of computer connection. Also, while the intrinsic value is awesome, the picture quality is marginal. I would say this was kind of an impulse, project specific purchase. I'll probably still get a good amount of use out of it, but for $150 there isn't much long term value.
Best mini printer for photos - if it actually worked!!! DON'T BUY THIS - app is WORTHLESS!!!

Update 3/15/18 -
So I purchased this printer and it worked GREAT. Perfect even. Until they updated the app. Now it is completely useless. When I'm lucky enough that the printer connects to my iPhone - it won't print ANYTHING from my camera roll. I can print (sometimes) from Instagram or Facebook - but it comes with my pic on it and some comments....making an already small picture worthless. I keep trying to contact them - but they tell me to try updating my app (ummmmm....yeah - EVERYTHING is up to date on my phone and I've re-installed the d* app probably 20 times) or my iPhone settings. BTW - I have an iPhone 6S in perfect working order....and it worked fine on my last phone and on this one UNTIL THEY UPDATED the app. Please - don't take my word for it - please see the new reviews under the app in the app store.
Please see attached pics to show you what happens when I try to use this worthless $150 printer!
DO NOT PURCHASE THIS!!!
This is one of the best things I've ever purchased. I had the Instax Mini camera - but it's super bulky to carry around all the time. This is a bit smaller - and prints out the pics off my phone - so I can edit them beforehand. The quality is a bit worse than the camera - but for ease of use and portability - it's way better. I've also used it continuously for two years and have never had to replace the battery yet. It's been a fun little printer - I still love that people have never seen one - and it's super affordable!
