That five minutes was really nice. Maybe a better quality one is worth itby Emily (1 out of 5 stars)

Worked for five minutes. Then nothing. Nothing at all. I can't tell you how much I don't appreciate this product. That five minutes was really nice. Maybe a better quality one is worth it. it's hard to say something against the manufacturer, knowing nothing of thier quality or reputation at all, and after product leaves to go on the road, well. Who's to say how rough a ride it had. Maybe they need to pack it better. But it working for a little while and then not after no fall or any reason known to me it's hard to day that it was shipping related. I really believe. Cheap parts and manufacturer defect.
Stopped working after 9 months

This was a great buy... until it wasn't. In all honestly I was initially surprised at how well it worked at first due to the cheap-looking exterior. I purchased in December of 2017 as a gift for my child. She loved the light and I was impressed with it as well. The quality of the soothing waves of light assisted her in falling asleep and I considered at one point purchasing a second one for myself. Perhaps my standards were too high to expect it to last a year or longer, as it seems many things are constructed only well enough to satisfy a short attention span, motivating us to buy something new as a replacement. I am disappointed this has now found it's way to a landfill.
Just like looking at the ocean-love it so much

I looked at several different light projectors like this one trying to find one that was just blue so it looked like the ocean-this one does several different light options, one of which is just blue so I'm very happy! It's very quiet and it's bright, but not so bright I can't sleep. It turns off automatically after 60 min or you can manually turn it off before that. There is also option to play music with iPad or iPod etc which I did the first night and it sounded great, but I find the music keeps me up.
Perfect nightlight for travel

My girls sleep with a nightlight in their room at home, which means they also want one when we're traveling. I don't know if you have often looked for outlets in hotel rooms but there usually aren't enough, meaning battery powered nightlights are a commodity to us.
I really love the design of this light and that you can switch between a single color and various combinations of the three colors. My favorite is the blue, it's very tranquil and looks like water rippling on the walls and ceiling.
An unintended bonus is that my daughter had a homework assignment requiring a speaker on my laptop and since the laptop speaker itself doesn't work I was able to grab this guy and bam, laptop speaker!
It would be better if there was an option to use just the speaker without the l for being on but since that's not the intended purpose of this light I won't knock off any stars for that.
Basically, this light has already been worth its weight on gold for us.
More than a Nightlight

I got this little night light projector because it kind reminds me of the ocean waves/ripples when the color is on blue. But we mainly got it for m another reason. I got it because we are a goofy family and we have dance offs sometimes at night on the weekends. I thought this would just add to the fun and goofiness to our family game night. I was please to see how much it covered the ceiling.
We have not tried it out as a night light yet or using the the speakers. But I'm sure there will come a time that we will. I also like the that it has an automatic shut off after an hour. All in all this goofy family likes it for the reasons we bought it for and to use it a lot on game night.

This little projector creates the atmosphere of sleeping on a boat, with the waves projected on the cabin ceiling. I had that experience many years ago in Key West, and I will never forget the beautiful light cast on the ceiling, while the ocean gently rocked me to sleep.
Quietest projector ever

This has to be the coolest ceiling projectors I have ever seen! You can choose different light settings such as a solid color, change of colors alternating, rainbow colors (reminds me of the rainbow colors you see in bubbles). It has built in speakers which at first I was expecting them to be super loud then my 13 yr old reminds me it's a night light projector, the speakers aren't supposed to be loud. Ha! Who would of thunk it? I got this at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review. The plastic piece over the light bulbs turns side to side giving the lights the wave effect but you can't even hear the parts inside moving at all. You can either plug the projector into an outlet or use 4 AA batteries to operate it. The projector also came with a AUX cord to plug your phone into it so you can listen to music or whatever you choose while drifting off to sleep.
Covered my 18 x 14 ceiling

I am so pleased with this. I have an 18x14 foot bedroom and I placed it on my nightstand and the whole ceiling was lit up. It is quiet and I just love it. So glad I found one that works. I tried a couple others and they were weak and didn't even reach the ceiling. This one is fantastic.
Super beautiful, calming effect.

Super beautiful, calming effect. It's so hypnotizing that I've sat on my floor for long periods of time just watching it. I ordered two - one arrived well stabilized, with instructions and an AUX cord bundled. The other was loose in the box, the A/C adaptor was loose and tangled, and there were no instructions or AUX cord. Since I didn't need either of those things I'm keeping the 5 star rating, but I still wanted to note the inconsistency.
and a setting that flashes through all the colors (don't like that setting)

My daughter LOVES this for her mermaid room. It has different light settings. Rainbow, red (which looks creepy as hell) blue, green, and a setting that flashes through all the colors (don't like that setting). It really looks like you are under water. It's pretty cool. I think you can plug your phone or iPod into it and get music to play but haven't tried that yet
Junk

The light show is interesting though slightly dim (maybe good for sleep) however the speaker is not very good. The sound is poor. Using the speaker also seems to mess up the timing for the auto-off, making 60 min maybe 10, so there is a counter in there that is getting some feedback from the sound input. Over all though my wife liked it so it gets 4 stars, one removed for the speaker issue.
UPDATE: The light it makes is interesting and my wife even finds it soothing but they do not last. We had two of them and both failed the same way. They work by having LEDs mentioned on a rocking plate of sorts. The rocking is controlled by a small DC motor tired to the plate via two pullies and a drive belt. That drive belt is just a cheap and thin rubber band that eventually breaks, the plate stops rocking and the lights do not move. One can fix it be replacing the drive belt with a small rubber band but that will last 6 months or so, and fail as does the original rubber band belt.
Down to one star.
Wish I didn't spend the money but not enough to want to return it

In all honesty it's far too bright to be called a night light to the point where it is harder to fall asleep with it on than off. I really wish there was some sort of dimming option, I'd trade that for the speakers, as much as a nice bonus they may be. It's also pretty poorly designed, you need to cycle through all the different light settings with a single button, the on/off button, where as having a separate button or two would be much more convenient. The battery cover doesn't even fit when you put in the batteries, forcing the cover to bend and the base to not be flat. It should also have a tilt option, since half the projection is on my walls instead of my ceiling, no matter where I place it. I may be nitpicking at this point, but it was really a let down. Even the light options are disappointing, either being too harsh to sleep to or just plain distracting (really, who wants to sleep to a strobe light).
Some positives is that it is really pretty to look at, even if it is hard to sleep to. I've been having it on in the hour leading up to sleep just so I can look at it. The speaker is also a really cool option that pairs nicely with ocean wave sounds.
My best advice to anyone who is considering buying this is spend a bit more time looking at other reviews and ask questions.I think this is something that can offer a lot of different experiences depending on the person and the situation they're buying it for.
