My wife purchased this for me in September. After using it 3 times, it no longer reads temperature correctly(it tells me my freezer is 170°F). I have emailed the manufacturer 4 times and have not received a response. It is a good product but, The lack of even a response from the manufacturer makes it hard for me to recommend.

Can I give it ZERO stars? The worst purchase I have ever made. Instructions were nonsense, quality was poor, difficult to read out doors. Kept losing connection with iPhone. Temperature sensor was off as well... Trashed the item - waste of money.

Bought this because of a review from America's Test Kitchen. Should have looked more closely at the Amazon reviews. This thing is hard to use, hard to turn off, and I have constant problems staying connected to it even though I'm 5 feet away. Total junk.

Junk. Don't blow your money on this. Only gets one star because zero stars isn't an option.
It's not terrible, but it could be so much better.

My gripes:
-needs to tell the user Bluetooth connection is lost. You'll know if the temp doesn't change between times you check, but there's no indication otherwise.
-the controls aren't very intuitive. I've got to get the instructions out if I don't use it for a few weeks.
-the touch sensitive face is too sensitive. You can't even hold it along the sides without changing your settings.
-can't shut the freaking beep off!
-no alerts to the phone. If you're not watching, you can blow though your ending temperature. There's a beep on the device at the grill, but why have Bluetooth connection if you have to stay at the grill?
The unit is functional and Bluetooth range is several yards and even across two floors of my house, but I wish it were better for the price.

I bought this thermometer because it was highest rated by America's Test Kitchen, but I have found it almost impossible to use. First, the directions are almost useless and when figured out the buttons don't seem to function in any logical order. In this day and age products should work intuitively. This thermometer does not and for that reason I would not recommend.
Compatible with few Android devices?

I gave the Oregon Scientific AW133 one star for 2 reasons:
1) It has 2 temperature probe ports, but they only give you one probe
2) The Grill Right Android App seems to be incompatible with many devices
You pay $50.00 or so for the thermometer, but you will have to pay another $20.00 if you want a second probe. This seems pretty chintzy to me.
If you plan to use the Android App, go to Google Play before you buy the Grill Right, and make sure it is compatible with your phone or tablet. The App will not work with any of the devices I tried:
1) Google Nexus 7 with Android 5.1 and Bluetooth 4.1
2) Samsung Galaxy S3 mini with Android 4.1.2 and Bluetooth 4.0
3) Samsung Galaxy S1 with Android 4.4.4 and Bluetooth version unknown
4) Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Tablet with Android 4.4.2 and and Bluetooth 3.0
5) Noria 7 Tablet with Android version and Bluetooth version unknown
The App is listed on Google Play as incompatible with all the above devices, except the Samsung Galaxy S1 which is one of the oldest. It installed on my S1 but the Bluetooth would not connect. I am not sure why it would not be compatible with the Nexus and the S3 mini. Both have Bluetooth 4, and pretty recent Android versions. Some of the devices are Bluetooth 3 which the Grill Right is not compatible with. The question is why not? Many quality manufacturers make sure their devices are compatible with a broad range of Android and Bluetooth versions.
I have installed numerous apps on the phones and tablets listed above, and seldom have any compatibility problems, except for the Noria which is a cheap device.
I expect better software development from a company named Oregon *Scientific*.

Product works great; but is a little hard to setup. It's not very intuitive when it comes to turning on the wireless. I would have preferred specific buttons and better instructions. I do have to say though, for the price, it's okay and it's cheaper than most of the other wireless units out there.
Good but easily damaged

The probes are sensitive and easily damaged leading to incorrect readings.
I now place a probe in ice with a little water to verify the probe is still good before each use.
the 500+ degree rating is bunk, if you use a probe to monitor oil for cooking it is ruined.
Also, It has no on/off button and the light button is inside the battery cover.
Not worth it... try something different.

Difficult connecting to bluetooth device every time used. Takes several tries... food is done before I can get it to connect properly.
Display is good, interface is acceptable, connectivity is terrible.
Not worth the cost.
