NOT a good choice for active footwear and definitely not worth the ...by AEG (1 out of 5 stars)

FAILED in 3 Months time. NOT a good choice for active footwear and definitely not worth the money. Extremely Dissapointed and will not purchase Rhino Laces again in the future. This is another product that claims they are un breakable and do a good job of making you believe it but it is far from the truth. The metal ends to the laces even came off after just 3 months of use also.
Won't break, cut or burn, but also won't stay tied...

I am giving two stars instead of one because they do seem to be made well, and I do think they will do what they are advertised to do. That said, it's what they don't do, that makes them pretty much useless. I bought these laces, with this exact fear in mind, and my fear came true. The texture and smoothness of these laces does not lend to staying tied. You pretty much cannot knot these, they will just slip open, at least with conventional knots. And I don't have time to learn new knots just for my boots. If you want good, long lasting shoe laces, stick with the old brown and tan linesman's laces that can be cut and melted to suit length. In short, novel idea, but these need work. Perhaps the top of the laces where knots would go should be lined or dipped in a materiel that will allow these to be knotted tightly. Breaking, tearing and burning are only an issue if you can keep your boots tied.
Very Reliable Laces

(My husband Michael's review) "I received Rhino Laces a little over 2 years ago. I'm in the US Army infantry. And can tell you I put them to the test. I took them all over the world with me. And now I'm back State-side and they're still going strong! Even took them through S.F.A.S. (Special Forces Assessment Selection) They don't rip, fray or break. Never had any issues whatsoever with them. have I had any issues with them." The only maintenance I ever did is clean them. Very reliable laces.

I just got my laces and tried them on my boots. I was a little leary of them due to some of the bad reviews but so far their fine. I used a standard double bow knot without any trouble, they feel solid but I have not (for obvious reasons) tried to cut them. Right on the package it says the company will replace them if they break.
Can't tie them - too rigid
by James L. Moore (1 out of 5 stars)
May 18, 2016
They are steel cable laces wrapped in a synthetic fiber outer layer. That means that they are too rigid to tie in a knot that will actually stay tied and keep the shoe tight. And they coil up and become unmanageable. Finally, the outer layer is not fire resistant, as one would expect given the description. First use around heat (clearing vegetation from a gravel lot w/ a torch) melted the outer layer exposing the steel core - this on a pair of regular shoes, not boots, that handled the heat with no problem.
Great Warranty, Great Laces, Great Customer Service

These laces are great, not indestructible but great nonetheless. I have boots that seemingly have razor blades built into the eyelets because they have eaten probably more than 10 pairs of laces at this point. These laces lasted much longer than any that I have ever had and did so with great comfort. The best part about these laces is the warranty. I sent their customer service department an email asking for a new pair of laces on a SUNDAY morning and they replied within a few hours asking if I was sure I wanted the same size! I was amazed and was then told that my new pair would be shipped to me for free the next day. Also, I have read a few of the negative reviews, one in-particular, that states that these are made of steel cable or something to that effect. THAT IS FALSE, these laces are NOT made of steel cable, and they are not inflexible. Unless your bootlaces are far too short, they stay tied indefinitely. So I am honestly not sure where these people got their laces from but it doesn't seem like we have gotten the same product. I have attached an image of a lace that I wore through to show that it is not made of steel cable or anything of the sort...
Indestructible laces - not caps

I bought these for my Red Wings, after having broken previous pairs of laces and been frustrated by the tape on the end of other tough laces. I've had them less than a week, and the metal cap came right off the tip of one this morning, rendering it more or less useless. The shoe laces were great before then, but it's incredibly frustrating to not be able to depend on a pair of laces that's ten times more expensive than what they intend to replace.
May Not Be As Pictured

The laces are probably great quality but I wouldn't know. When I received the red laces I ordered I was surprised to be holding a pair of laces that were mostly black and gray with a few specks of red (see pics). Thinking it was a mistake, I sent them back and reordered another pair of red laces. But much to my dismay, I received the same pair of black, gray, and red laces. It's quite disappointing since I'm really in the market for a pair of red laces so keep this in mind if you are looking for a certain color.
Good luck putting on your boot.

So these laces are tough, almost too tough. I replaced my old laces on my boots with these and while they never come undone, or loosen up. The issue is getting them on. Because of the material of the laces I have to almost unstring most of the laces to put my boots on. Which is time consuming. While in everyday wear no big deal. But if for some reason you needed to remove you boots in a hurry, your out of luck.
+Very strong
+Never loosens up
+Stays in place
-Stong material of lace makes it a time consuming job when actually putting on the shoe.
The best but not immortal

Its a tough lace but the tip fell off in the first week. Besides that they've endured my daily use, somewhat. I'm an Ironworker and I put them to the test. Sparks from chop saws going 9000 rpm shooting molten metal at my Georgia boots. Snags on sheared rebar and fumes dust mist from concrete. In all fairness the best shoelace hands down. They will last a solid year in my trade.

Aglets came off a few days after using the laces. The laces are abrasive, and very stiff. Sandpaper-like.
Long laces don't fit boot eyelets.

Great quality laces, but they didn't fit the eyelets of my husband's work boots. They need to make them this long, but with a smaller bracket/lace. I had to pry the brackets apart, dip the frayed/loose ends in wax, thread the boot, then reclamp the brackets. Pain in the butt but at least they are now usable.

Love these laces. First pair I bought 2years ago I had the metal tip fall off, sent an email and had 4 tips sent and a whole new pair. So far great laces.
Just one gripe.

The metal tips can be loosened and fall off. I use them in my work boots and when I lace them up they go through 4 sets of hooks and 1 set of eyes. Well taking them off loosened the metal tips and 2 of them fell off. I was able to get them back on and crimped all of them. Something to think about.
Best laces you can buy for work boots!!

Great laces for anyone that wears work boots, these things are the toughest you can buy. When I get a new pair of boots I automatically buy a pair of Rhino Laces! I work in a power plant so they are exposed to extremes everyday and have held up for over a year and a half.
the metal tips on the laces are too big to fit through certain metal eyelets

The metal tips do not fit through the metal eyelets on my La Sportiva boots. I'm going to try them in a pair of Scarpa Fuego boots Im going to order for wildland fire fighting. I will update my review once I find out if they fit or not.

These are excellent laces. Time will tell if they are really unbreakable, but they are definitely tough.
Awesome shoe lace

Awesome shoe lace. I have large muscular legs and most laces will break shortly after buying them. These are durable and look pretty cool. They will sometimes come untied but I run into that problem with any shoelace I wear so I have gotten into the habit of double knotting. Great product.
