WE HAVE TACO TUESDAY EVERY NIGHT-----NOT ANYMORE !!!!!!!by Lucille Sandoval (1 out of 5 stars)

I love it. I gave it 4 stars because the timer knob is very hard to turn. The groves on the knob should be more pronounced. The taco comes out great once you figure out how long to toast the various types of tortillas. My whole family loved them. Less fat and calories. We are pretty happy. Bought extra thin corn tortillas, 90% fat free ground turkey, shredded lettuce and topped it off with fat free cheese and salsa. I could eat these every day. Made breakfast tacos, too.
DON'T BUY THIS TACO SHELL MAKER-----------------------------------------------------READ BELOW.
I had the taco shell maker for two months and suddenly it stopped working. I contacted customer service at Nostalgia Electrics and was sent a list of things I had to do to ship the product back for an exchange. UNFORTUNATELY, they do not furnish pre-paid shipping labels to ship their faulty products back. It was going to cost me $16.63 with the required delivery confirmation added on. That was the cheapest. That's more than half of what I paid for it. THIS IS SO UNFAIR AND VERY BAD BUSINESS. I'm never buying anything from this company again. Who knows how long the product will last?
Toasts unevenly and easily burns the tortillas if not constantly watched

Toasts unevenly and easily burns the tortillas if not constantly watched. Materials are moderate in quality with flexible plastics and thin sheet metals used. A wind-up timer controls the heating element but I would not leave this appliance unattended. Kids might find this fun to use but adult supervision is definitely required especially when trying to remove a cooked tortilla from the insert.
Novelty wears off pretty quick. This will make a good White Elephant gift at the next holiday party even without the box.
Light duty at best

The device is inexpensively made. It will produce a decent crisp shell for tacos...corn or flour. Positioning a shell for proper form is difficult at best, but once mastered produces a satisfactory result. Bottom line....do not expect a miracle device. It is sufficient to do the job required...how long will it last? Time will tell...it is not heavy duty just light duty construction wise.
Works but egh its ok

Works as intended most the time, broke shells here and there so have to play around with the type of PRE COOKED shells you buy and if you live alone this is great and fast. have a family ? Then just keep using the oven.
It's OK, I guess... as others ...

It's OK, I guess ... as others have noted, it doesn't toast the inside much, and the bottom stays a bit 'gummy'. I'm still using it on occasion though because it's still easier than using the oven wrack.
The taco caught fire do not buy

Put one taco to test it, put the timer on 1.
Within 20 seconds the taco had caught fire and I had to quickly douse it with a cup of water rendering the toaster now useless. AVOID buying this product.
I love it.

This is so cool. No turning on the stove, no frying. There is nothing easier or more practical to make toasted tortillas for your favorite Mexican dish.
