Not a simple build, but a conversation pieceby Tyson Hennings (5 out of 5 stars)

It needs a lot of batteries! But the sheer joy it elicites when held is unmatched. I got a lot of rolling of the eyes from my friends wives when I showed them my 1911 rubberband gun but when I snuck this gun into my friends wives hand... They didn't mock it as they unleashed it on my friends. Just a lot a fun and a really good smile all around. A little complicated for young kids to build or load but a fantastic thing to own.

After assembling the gun, which took about an hour, I loaded the rubber bands and fired the gun- it jammed immediately, and what is worse one of the plastic gears in the motor apparatus stripped, thus rendering the gun worthless. The gun lasted 10 minutes once constructed. I am working on an engineering solution to get the gun up and running again, but I am not impressed with the item.

Took about an hour to put together. Still trying to figure out how to load the rubber bands without pulling my hair out.
Perfect for starting an office war.

As others have mentioned, you have to go to the company's website to access assembly instructions. Once there, though, the build process is documented in an extremely clear fashion. Included hardcopy instructions would've been nice, but not really necessary.
Assembly took me about 45 minutes from box open to final step, with another few minutes to fully load the RBMG with the included rubber bands. At first I was skeptical that the firing mechanism would actually work, but then the bands started flying and I was sold. The way in which the bands are released is both very ghetto and pure genius.
You will need to drill one screw into a round wood piece that's attached to the motor, but that's it. The rest can be screwed in with a normal screwdriver.
Speaking of the motor, yes, it takes a load of batteries. If you plan to go to do battle with your cubicle-mates, I would suggest getting 8 eneloops (four per side) so you're not having to constantly throw away non-rechargeable batteries.
Some wiring is required. I'm not an electrician so this part had me a little concerned, but all the necessary parts are included and the build steps were crystal clear, so I was able to jump that hurdle with ease. And trust me, if I can do it, you'll have zero difficulty.
I did run into one flaw with the included parts - the motor shaft. The motor I was sent had a shaft that was too long to disengage, so I had to remove about 1/8" of plastic, which I did using some cheap scissors. I thought about gigging the review one star because of this, but it was such a simple fix that that seemed unfair.
I would like to see one design improvement and one that I might implement myself. The rubber bands are loaded in such a way that they're easy to slip off. If the parts which hold the bands had an ever-so-slight indentation, the bands would remain in a loaded state without worry of them accidentally releasing. A somewhat minor complaint and, again, not so serious as to warrant removing a star.
If you want to start an office war (or finish one), this is a fine weapon of choice. When I showed it to my coworker, his eyes almost blew out of their sockets. He doesn't mess with me - not anymore. Into the breach!

Does not work well. Motor is not powerful enough and bands get stuck and need help to fire.

I bought this for my fiance as a gift, I wish I would have saved my Money. No instructions to assemble, the motor is very week and the strong gets tangled. Huge waste of money!!!!
Neat design but motor not so much.

Great craftsmanship however, the motor was burnt out. After putting it together makes for difficulty getting it returned in the same box as it was shipped.

Our kit was missing parts, leaving us with no alternative but to go to our local hardware store to buy more screws. Clumsy to assemble -
