Too slippery for pull-ups, muscle-ups, and TTBs.
by Keith P. (1 out of 5 stars)

Not a fan of these at all. I don't know what people use these for, but they certainly do NOT help with pull-ups, muscle-ups, or TTBs. If you want to find something that helps with those, find something that has leather or carbon fiber. Someone at my gym said it best "It is like taking your workout shirt and putting it over the bar and trying to do pull-ups on it" Too slippery!

Talk to people at your gym, and they will recommend something like Bear Komplex or picsil.

I hope this saves someone else $40

Used on CF Open 17.3 - held up well
by M. E. Hamilton (4 out of 5 stars)
March 14, 2017

I don't normally leave feedback (and I normally think people that start off with that are full of ****), but I wanted to with these wraps. When I first put the wraps on - after ensuring the size was correct based on the included measurement kit and then cutting the holes - I thought the wraps were too tight. Truthfully, I still think they're a bit too snug. But I've used them twice now - both times on the CF Games 17.3 WOD (Snatch/C2B PU ladder) - and they've held up great. I ripped my hands up really badly on 17.2 (bar muscle-ups) and needed to keep the still-healing skin in tact on 17.3. These WODies held up really well and kept my hands from re-ripping. The velcro around the wrist does OK as a de facto wrist wrap, but at heavier weights (like the #185 and #225 snatches) they're not good enough. Still, their main purpose, which should most likely be found on the pull-up bar or maybe KBs, they're a solid product.

I will update this review after a few more tries with them, especially if they don't loosen up. Having that palm-strap tension pulling your fingers in is only helpful with select movements, but not everything.

Review from guy who doesn't write reviews: Two Thumbs Way Up (with no bloody tears or blisters)
by Robert Klamser (5 out of 5 stars)
March 6, 2015

I never write reviews, I don't usually feel like it is worth my time (or anyone else's for that matter), but I had to say something about these. I used them the first time for 15.1 and again for 15.2 (if you Crossfit, you know what this means) and they are amazing. Both workouts ripped people up and my hands look completely normal.

I think the biggest compliment I can give these is that in both workouts, which were very taxing on your hands/grip/palms, I was never thinking about my grip on the bar. I never once had to worry about friction on my palms with these, leaving me free to focus on the burning in my lungs or my core, not my hands.

I've used tape, leather gymnast gloves and I usually just use bare hands and chalk, but for any WOD with a chance at tearing, I will always use my WODies now.

Side note - I did get the thumb nub things that they sell and those were awesome too. These are both really great products.

Too Slippery for Me
by Roanoke9000 (2 out of 5 stars)
November 16, 2018

I purchased these as an alternative to wearing the leather gymnastics grips for bar work during WODs.

Initially, I battled with the finger hole sizes and had to cut them larger. I don't believe my fingers are enormous (I wear a size 10.5 wedding ring) but to fit them all through the finger holes I nearly cut one gigantic hole. There was not much fabric between my fingers when it was done and the holes were still tight.

Next, it was off to the gym. I applied tons of chalk and jumped up to grip the bar and do some pull-ups. My hands slipped right off the bar as I tried my first butterfly pull-up in these grips. I re-chalked and re-tried a few times, thinking I made a mistake or there was a break-in of sorts. Nope. I tore them off and went bare-handed instead.

Ultimately, I do not trust these enough to use for that type of movement. The pad is comfortable against your hand, and the wrist wrap offers decent support, but I cannot recommend these for that type of bar work. They may work well for Olympic lifting, but I prefer bare hands and chalk for that so I did not try it.

Great product well worth the money.

Love them. I crossfit 6 days a week and these really save my hands. They are true to size as long as you measure your hand right. They really feel like a second skin. And the wrist supports are great. I have seen previous comments complain about once you cut the finger holes you can't return them which is true but they really make it very simple if you measure your hand like they show on the instructions they will fit perfect.

Too slippery to function
by Jared Sciarrotta (1 out of 5 stars)

Normally with my Amazon reviews I'm not one to complain. I do my due diligence and only make sure I pull the trigger on a product that I know will work out well. Unfortunately this is my first time I've paid decent money for a product that should be high quality, yet falls entirely too short.

I made sure to do the measurements correctly just like they said to order the right size. I even noted the company's exasperated "make sure you use them multiple times so they break in!!!" pleas. I did both of those things but to no avail.

What I got in this product was a completely unreliable grip every time I got on the rig. The only time I had an actually good grip was when I chalked up right before. I could do about 3-4 toes to bar or pull ups before this things started getting slippery. It got to the point where I just decided I'd rather scrape open my hands then have no grip at all with this product. A lot of times during the workout the pad would also slide up during the workout, which would cause it to bunch and get rid of the flat surface across my palm, another nuisance to be added.

I believe the material of this product just doesn't allow for a good grip, and I'm not sure how this product is so highly rated. I'll be purchasing another product with a material that I think will hold up better on a crossfit rig.

Good quality
by DVB22 (4 out of 5 stars)

These grips/wraps are better than others I have tried but are not perfect. They slip/move as I'm doing pull ups. Even though they're better than most and don't move as much, it still causes my hands to rip but not as much. It's nice to have a wrap at the same time and they are super easy to put on and take off. They are made of great quality and seem to be very durable. After two months of continuous use they still look like new after washing. They take some time to break in because they were very slippery on the pull up bars in the beginning. I would also be careful of wrapping too tight. My fingers went numb once from wrapping them too tight around wrist. Overall well made product that should help with hands ripping and wrist issues.

They get the job done so far.
by Brian East (5 out of 5 stars)

So these grips work on a few different levels for me. I recently had an opportunity to put them to use.

As mentioned in other reviews, make sure you have the right size, measure your hand with a ruler, when you get the product it comes with its own measuring gauge. if that doesn't match, try to reach out to them to exchange if possible.

If you cut the finger holes open they won't accept a refund. They were very explicit about this on the package.

What I wanted out of this is primarily grips to hold a pullup bar without the post WOD feeling of the skin of my hands falling off. For that these do the trick. My hands are pretty heavily callused too, as I have not been using any sort of palm cover prior to this, so this may contribute to that.

On top of that, the WOD called for handstand pushups. To my pleasant surprise, the combination of the palm covers and wrist wrap provided enough traction to keep my palm in place with very little sweat traveling downward from my wrist. What used to happen had been that all the sweat accumulated down and caused my hands to slide. Did 9 rounds of Nate (Pull up scaledown, HSPU, KB Swings) with no slips. Very happy on that.

The wrist support is solid. I can definitely see them giving me enough stability for a decently heavy C&J. Though not as much as the dedicated wrist wraps I have.

Overall very happy with this. We'll see how long the palm fabric lasts.

Get yourself a pair TODAY!

Can't say enough about my WODies by JerkFit. Only had these babies for a couple weeks and I'm already noticing considerable results. Before making the switch to JerkFits, boy let me tell you, I was in a world of hurt. After cranking out a killer WOD, my wrists would be completely sore from all of the bending and pulling. I would often grip my bar so tight around the knurling the skin on my palms would be completely worn raw. My form was far from smooth and I could barely get a single snatch. Most of the women in class would make fun of my inferior size, uneven-ness, and lack of tone and definition. I knew I was oozing weakness and something had to change.

That's when JerkFit stepped in for the rescue! After strapping these puppies on, I was immediately able to sustain longer and smoother jerks. My wrists were comfortably protected and my palms were left with a smooth and supple finish after longer pull sessions. I noticed right away both increased grip strength and girth of objects in my grasp, including both balls and bars. I was able to go harder and deeper into my squat thrusts and, suffice to say, I now have access to snatches for days. I've already received several compliments from women after they've had a chance to take in my smooth, rock-hard form! One even bought her own pair so we can jerk together! It's almost funny how intimidated a couple of the beta males in class are when I walk in with my new WODies (black, size large). Hopefully they can learn from me and get themselves a pair today!

WODies by JerkFit 100% changed my life for the better. I would hands down recommend them for their superior quality, functionality, great looks, and above all fast and convenient shipping. Do yourself a favor and add these to your shopping cart today! Your sore wrists and calloused palms will thank you!

Hand protection that doesn't disappoint
by Ron (5 out of 5 stars)
May 19, 2018

After a recommendation from a friend, I purchase these because it has been hard to find hand protection that works during CrossFit. This is my first purchase from JerkFit. I used the sizing guide to order the WODies and the item I received arrived exactly as described and fit perfectly. They are extremely comfortable, provide wrist support, and offer the palm protection that I had been looking for especially on the pull up bar during WODS. There is no sliding around on my hands or gaping holes where my fingers go through so my complete hand is covered. I can go straight from lifting on the bar, to rowing, or the pull up bar. I do not have to waste time adjusting my fingers or the palm covering because it stays in place. I couldn't be happier with this purchase and would purchase again.
