Vitamix has a great customer service
by Redox (5 out of 5 stars)

I used to own Vitamix 5200. It fells down & broke. Vitamix has a great customer service. Although it is my fault (it fell), they fixed it for free & even paid the shipping. While waiting for my Vitamix, I try Breville BBL910XL. I end up keeping the BBL910XL and sale the Vitamix on eBay.

I did search on the internet about all the reviews, especially comparing the two. In general, the reviews say overall performance Vitamix is better, but Breville is good for Smoothie (liquid) which I use for everyday.

My own experience is that Breville is less often go into the "Overload Protection". It is probably because it has a better vortex area in the bottom. For the load I have every morning, I have to do two batches with Vitamix, while I can it all at once with Breville. It saves me time.

I also like the fact that it has a preset program for each task, like smoothie, green smoothie, or auto clean, etc. If you have a light load, this preset is helpful because you can leave it alone and not use the tamper to push down the load.

It also has a bigger jar than Vitamix, which is helpful if you make a large load.

I used to think that Vitamix is the best of the best for overall performance. And, they probably are if the reviews are right. But, I only used the blender to make a smoothie.

I have tried top of the line Ninja, Nutribullet, and many other blenders. I highly recommend Breville. If you use your blender for more than just making a smoothie, you might consider Vitamix.

Use it daily. Worth every penny.

I'm not gonna lie, some alcohol might have been involved in my decision to purchase a $300 blender. Any buyer's remorse dissipated as soon as I realized how amazing this thing actually is. The only negatives i can see are the plastic jug, which is $100 to replace, and the noise it makes, on par with a leaf blower. The jug is dishwasher safe, but will discolor with use. So why spend this much and what do I use it for?
-Drinks. Amazing blender drinks, all fruit skin and seeds are completely obliterated. Ice disappears to the smoothest consistency.
-Soups. I don't care much for the "soup" mode, and recommend blending the ingredients and simmering on the stove a few minutes instead. Makes seriously delicious soups.
-Sauces. Raspberry sauce, marinara sauce, hollandaise, aioli, all come out perfectly smooth with no effort on my part.
-Grinding up stuff. Whole spices, making chili paste, and so on. Need rice flour? No problem, just grind up some rice and make some yourself.

All in all it saves me a huge amount of time, and makes some really enjoyable soups, sauces and drinks I wouldn't be able to make otherwise.

... purchased this blender March 25th 2015 and I absolutely love it. This is not a product that you

I purchased this blender March 25th 2015 and I absolutely love it. This is not a product that you buy then use it twice and then throw it in your pantry where you will never use it again. We use it to make home made sauce for our pasta, green and fruit smoothies, soups you name it! In fact, I love it so much I came back to review this product nearly year and a half later because I just recommended it to a friend and I realized I did not write a review.

This also comes with a long life warranty 5 or 7 year can't remember for sure but that's a solid deal right there. I had a NutriBullet before this product and the motor burned down on the NutriBullet the first use. This product has a built in sensor to prevent overheating. Also, cleaning it is super easy...I never have to wipe it because you just need 1 cup of hot water, 1 drop of dish soap then press the CLEAN button and that's it! Rinse it when done and ready for use again. Seriously though, this product sits on my counter all day and every day since I bought it. It never leaves the counter because it's used so frequently. My wife tried to put it away after each use (to her it was an eye sore anything thats left on the counter) but since we use it so often I convinced her to just let it sit on the counter :) If you are looking for something to change your diet and have a healthier life style this product is what you need in your pantry arsenal.

Bought over vitaMix no regrets! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ†๐Ÿน

I bought this over the Vitamix and I'm happy I did. Smoothies are amazingly smooth and I don't need to peel apples or cut greens off of strawberries. I don't rate items 5 stars but this deserves it. It's better than the Vitamix because it is dishwasher safe, doesn't have teflon, has several program modes that work well and the smoothie mode is the best. Don't worry about he power as it has plenty of it as it should at this price...it's a fantastic life investment!

Wow.

Wow. Just an awesome blender. If you are someone that has to make a life decision about eating healthy...whether it is due to illness, potential illness, aging, athletics, etc., then I would recommend investing the $400 in this blender. It is a respectable competitor with the Vitamix. There is a respectable amount of intelligence and engineering that went into this blender. The $400 did sting, but honestly it is worth it for a life change in dietary practices...and living practices. I would not recommend it if all you want to do is mix alcoholic beverages. You could get a $70 Black and Decker for that.

Really well made blender! Safe and easy to use.

I love this blender. It is programmable so you can hit a button and walk away. I almost gave it a 4 star review because the one drawback is that you do need to either walk away or wear ear protectors. This is a really loud blender. I think it is even louder than the Vitamix that I used to own. However, the beauty is that you can walk away and it does everything to blend without you needing to be there. The smoothie and clean cycles take a minute each and it does a great job. This gets five stars because this is far and away the best built blender I have ever seen. The pitcher is very high quality thick and easy to clean plastic. The whole thing is so well designed. Once you run the clean cycle and rinse the pitcher, you put it in your dish drainer and there are angled holes in the bottom so that when you turn the pitcher upside down, the excess water drains perfectly out of the base! Everything about it exudes high quality and intelligent design. The blade is so substantial compared to others like the Vitamix and Osters. It is a multi blade and does a very good job. With Vitamix things like slices of ginger might just sit under the blade during blending. This cannot happen with the Breville. I have to mention that I've had a carrot slice survive a blend cycle so it is not perfect. However everything about this blender so far is so much better that it more than makes up in overall quality and ease of use. We'll see how it holds up over a year of blending but so far so good.
4 months later of almost daily use. This blender still going strong and is the best I've ever owned.

Doesn't get any better
by TereNoy (5 out of 5 stars)

My previous blender was a 4-speed Oster. Pulse control was a big extra at the time. You can understand my amazement at this machine. After 3 Nutribullets, I'd had it with motors that are so ridiculously vulnerable to getting dirty and wet, if not completely ruined by a loosely screwed blade - happens to the most careful person. The Boss even cleans itself! How can you not love it? The lid literally grips the jar like it has tentacles, but then you have the integrated ring at one of its corners that make lifting it a cinch (pushing from underneath with your thumb may give you more control than pulling it from above). To keep the jar looking crystal-clear longer, just be sure to use the scraper it comes with, or any other good quality rubber or silicone spatula; and always dry it with a soft (microfiber) cloth after each use, inside and out, before water droplets dry on it. Yes, like your new car. Pound for pound, this little monster costs a lot more - then again, it's worth every penny. It occupies less space in your counter than comparable brand models (and it's cuter, too!). I haven't tried making frozen desserts yet, but I've made some almond milk to die for.

Refuses to turn on after only 2 months
by BM (1 out of 5 stars)

Didn't even last 2 months. Refuses to turn on.

Kept it unplugged for 12+ hours. Plugged it into the same outlet a working coffee grinder was using. Plugged into multiple outlets around the house.
Never got an overload warning. Everything spins freely. Always cleaned it after every use. Never tipped it while running to cause tension between the blender and the jug. I'm going to have to go back to the $60 blender I got at Wal-Mart.that I used daily for years and only put away because it was making funny noises, only to be replaced by this hunk of junk.

Yeah, 7 year warranty is nice but I have to mail it back to be worked on then wait for it to be mailed back, making it completely useless for who knows how many weeks. Especially after only using it for 2 months.

Phenomenal, and easy to use. I made cornbread from whole kernels. Mix waffles. Green smoothies in 1

Breville BBL910XL Boss Easy to Use Superblender, Silver

This blender is phenomenal. It comes with spatula and rod to push the ingredients around when blender and mixing frozen desserts and seed and nut butter. Retail package include sample green smoothie recipes book with soup, smoothies, spices rub, baking recipes, and other recipes. I tried the several green smoothies recipes and cornbread recipe over several weeks.

Updates: So far, I made every recipes for green smoothies and smoothies on the blender recipe book included. I baked the cornbread recipe with whole kernel corns. I mixed chocolate cake recipe with mix mode. I made three different soup recipes: butternut squash, tomato soup, and vegetable soup. I milled wheat berries. I milled dry BBQ rub seasoning. I made Thai spices paste. I made frozen desserts. Boss Superblender opened up to arrays of recipes and ease of use impressed me. It works great with mixing protein powder shakes. I made blanched almonds pesto dips that goes well with simple corn tortilla chips.

Making breakfast smoothies has become a healthy habit that our small neighborhood community share and enjoy together two to three times a week.

So glad I treated myself to this wonderful machine
by Ruth (5 out of 5 stars)
April 30, 2015

I debated about making this purchase for a long time as it seemed like an extravagance that I could perhaps live without. Finally, I decided to regard this purchase not as an extravagance, but rather as an investment in my health. Having recently completed some pretty rough cancer treatment, I have been studying how to support my body's recovery with cancer-fighting foods and a carefully thought out diet. Green smoothies have become a part of my daily life. Adding lots of veggies and fruit to my old Hamilton Beach blender put a huge strain on my reliable old machine, and I had to chew the finished product that my machine had worked so hard and overheated to produce. This Breville Boss is fantastic for my purposes. It can pulverize anything without any strain whatsoever. I just love it. It makes wonderful smoothies, and I have also tried the soup function with very good results. With its seven-year warranty and the excellent results it produces, this machine and I will be spending a lot of quality time together. I chose this machine rather than the more expensive Vitamix equivalent based on the reviews I read on amazon. I agree with all the amazon raters who said this is a very fine product. It certainly is.
