Product Description

Bacon is one of the most irresistible foods known to man. The sizzle of bacon on the pan or the first whiff in the morning is enough to induce powerful cravings. Works great! A few oz of cheddar or pepper jack, on PARCHMENT paper @ 400 for 10-15 minutes until brown and bubbly.

Cut paper, turn cheese side down onto tortilla grill rack on counter, over paper towel. Let cool.

Fill cheese shell and top as usual.

Enjoy!

Safety hazard
by Marisa H. (1 out of 5 stars)
July 4, 2017

I have bought hundreds if not thousands of products from Amazon and I rarely if ever go out of my way to give a negative review, even if I am not thrilled with the item. However I feel obligated in this case to speak up. I would give this product negative stars if I could. It not only fails to get the job done well but is a significant safety hazard. First of all, it can only cook about 4-5 pieces of bacon at a time. Cooking a pound of bacon takes 3-4 rounds of cooking. Secondly, the oil reservoirs are insufficient to catch the amount of grease a pound of bacon produces and there is no safe way of draining the oil out of the reservoirs between rounds of 3-4 pieces because the grease is so hot. Third, the oil reserves bubble from the heat even when only slightly filled, causing dangerous splashes of burning hot oil. And fourth, When half full or more the oil reservoirs catch fire, burning the bacon and posing the risk the flames can get out of control. The last time I used it the flames continued until well after I turned off the grill and removed the bacon such that I had to pour baking soda on it to put the flames out. I gave this product 3 tries under the theory that maybe I was doing it wrong. That's still a possibility but at this point the safety risk associated with trying it again outweighs my desire to get my money's worth out of it. Save your money and avoid this product.

Great for making oven baked semi-hard taco shells without adding oil
by iiiireader (5 out of 5 stars)
September 1, 2015

I purchased this taco grill not for use with my outdoor grill but rather with my oven. I am using these to make semi-hard corn taco shells without any oil added.

Due to health reasons, I had to cut way down on fats. I can have ground beef (provided I drain the fats off afterward) but I wanted to avoid anything other fats that didn't have to be there. I thought, and was correct, that this grill would be the answer to my needs for tacos.

I put the grill on a small baking sheet as it is otherwise kind of odd to hold and even odder to place on the oven rack. The sheet holds it perfectly.

My pictures show the progression of the shells. I pre-heat my oven to 375 and I "soften" my corn tortillas by putting four on a plate and putting them in the microwave for 15 seconds. If you skip this step, they may break in two when you put them in the holder. I discovered that store bought tortillas (Mission) have a definite side which bends more easily than the other. Be sure to bend it the easy way as doing it the other way makes for a shell that breaks at the crease.

I place the tortillas in the holder and use aluminum foil to hold them open (otherwise they will collapse during baking.) I put them in the oven and then change the heat to 380. That brings the temperature back up after it falls when I open the door. I usually cook them for 7 minutes for semi-hard but check yours because of the differences in ovens and preferences in texture. I then place the shells on a plate and make more following the same directions. I reuse my foil during the cooking time but discard it afterward.

While the shells are not crisp, they are firm enough to hold the taco together well and they work perfectly for someone like me, who has health issues or for someone who simply wants to cut down on fats.

Taco shells with no exta calories!!
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)

This is amazing
I use it to bake taco shells without the added calories of oil. Set your oven to 350 and then quickly dip 6 inch corn tortillas into boiling water and transfer to the frame with tongs. You have to be quick or the tortillas will fall apart. Literally- put it in the water, immediately flip it, and then lay over the frame. ( corn tortillas have a side that has lines running down it- place that side up) Put the frame into the oven for about 15 minutes and you have Taco shells minus the oil!

Must Have For Those Who Like Flavor
by Good Buy's (5 out of 5 stars)
February 20, 2014

This is a must have product for those who want a little spice and like to create some unique flavors. We simply hollowed out some Jalapenos with the included tools, Stuffed them with cream cheese and bacon bits, and finished by wrapping them in a strip of bacon. Make sure that the jalapenos or peppers aren't too big otherwise they won't fit in the rack. We placed our pepper rack on the BBQ but I would imagine it could just as easily be placed in the oven with similiar results. The peppers turned out Incredible! The rack is very durable and super easy to clean as well are the included tools. Very nice quality. Can't wait to try some other peppers as well as some baked blue cheese stuffed dates.

Good Idea, but......
by BigDADee (2 out of 5 stars)

I bought this in hopes of being able to smoke more ribs at one time. After reading the reviewsI was sold on this model because it folds and should be easy to store. That unfortunately was about the only positive for this rib rack. The problems arose when I tried to use this for four racks of St. Louis Style Ribs.

Problem one- Spacing is too tight for St. Louis Style, so I can imagine that full size is out of the question. Maybe Cuisinart is in to Baby backs.

Problem 2- Raised portion for support of ribs is in the cente so the ends of your rack of ribs just flops and sad to say will touch each other. This totally defeats the benefit of a rib rack- Proper and complete air flow between multiple racks of ribs in less space.

I used this once and doubt if I will use it again.

Taco Tuesday!
by azjmw (5 out of 5 stars)

Love this thing. Holds four tacos, bakes them perfectly in the oven, and can be used as a 'tray' to assemble them. Cleans with an easy wipe down and doesn't require use of any spray or oil on the tortillas. Taco Tuesday's are a lot more fun with this around.

Perfect shells.

Just ordered a second one. We don't use it on the grill but in the oven to make taco shells. We spray the corn tortillas lightly with oil, warm them a little in the oven to soften them. Then we place them downside on the rack, set the rack on a baking sheet and slide in all in the oven. Perfect shells.

Great for tacos
by Nicole C (5 out of 5 stars)
October 23, 2018

I love tacos and this taco grilling rack has been great. I use flour tortillas and fill the tacos with beans, vegetables and cheese, place this grilling rack on a cookie sheet, and then stick it in the oven. At higher oven temperatures the tortilla shell will crisp within a few minutes. At lower temperatures the tortilla shell takes longer to crisp. The open spaces of the rack cause it to be less easy to clean but I don't mind because it doesn't really get dirty anyway. Great product overall.
