Keycap stems easily broken
by MP (2 out of 5 stars)
January 9, 2017

This keyboard was amazing when i first got it. The romer-g switches feel decent, the keyboard is nice and heavy, and the design is beautiful. The keycaps are terrible though. The plastic on the top is easily worn off and the stem design is prone to breaking. Its made up of 4 pieces of plastic instead of one. If you game a lot on this keyboard, you most likely will snap the plastic off on the bottom of the keycap. Mine got wedged inside of the switch and ruined the keyboard. Logitech is the only one that sells replacement keycaps so this will be an issue for the life of the keyboard.

Clickity Clackity
by Kevin (5 out of 5 stars)
January 4, 2018

I've been in the market for a while searching for the right keyboard to fit my needs. I recently managed to get hands on a few different mechanical keyboards and it was between this one and another popular brand. I've been a Logitech fan for a very long time, and most of my keyboards and mice have been Logitech, so when the time finally came, it came down to brand loyalty. Its great for gaming, and when I'm typing who does'nt love the clickity clackity of the mechanical switches.

I was shocked at the responsiveness of this keyboard compared to my old Logitech G-15 keyboard once I sat down to play my favorite games, the RGB illumination is amazing it allows for some creative control over your keys illumination and I set mine up to look like the American flag, because I love America. With my previous keyboard I knew I wanted the additional function keys, because I would bind various macros and other shortcuts to them for the various activities I would be engaging in so that was another selling point for me. I was at first dissapointed in the lack of a LCD/LED screen to monitor various computer details, and quickly mute TS3 when I needed to talk to someone in the room, however with the Arx control app I can see the temps and speeds of what I need, when I need it, plus Logitechs website was very useful for finding a way to bind my G keys to be my microphone mute.

Great for gaming, but not so much for day-to-day typing.
by Eric H (5 out of 5 stars)
January 3, 2015

I bought this keyboard directly from Logitech shortly after it was released. Overall, it's a fantastic keyboard, and I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. Here's my take on it:

Pros:
- This is one good looking keyboard. The customizeable colors, materials, and general industrial design are superb. I find myself just looking at it in admiration, similar to buying a new car that you just can't help keep looking at it.
- I like the feel of the keys. I haven't owned any Cherry MX switch keyboards (yet), so I don't have a point of reference compared to recent mechanical keyboards. That being said, I love the feel of typing compared to my previous dome-switch Logitech keyboards. I play BF4 and LoL, and the keyboard works great in both types of games. It's not loud at all and feels very responsive.
- It comes with 2 different sized wrist rests, of which I found the larger one to be quite ergonomic and comfortable.
- Software: I find the UI extremely easy to use. Assigning a color to each key is very intuitive, as is customizing keystrokes or macros.

Cons:
- Another reviewer mentioned the key spacing to feel slightly cramped. I agree with that qualitative assessment. I haven't measured the key-to-key spacing, but it definitely feels different from my other Logitech keyboards, of which I've had many. I had another friend, who types a lot, try it out and she immediately pointed out that it felt smaller. We both found ourselves making more typos when writing out a document. I do, however, primarily use this keyboard for gaming, which is why I find the spacing to be only a minor inconvenience. But I personally wouldn't use it for my work station PC, as I find the spacing and indented keys to slow down my typing in both Word and Excel.
- Not sure why Logitech didn't use a braided cable, similar to their matching G502 gaming mouse (which I love). Not a big deal at all, but it would've been a nice feature consistent with their corded gaming mice.

Neutral:
- The Arx dock is somewhat gimicky in my opinion. I do like it for just propping up my phone so I can easily see any text messages, but I don't use it for any gaming reasons. The construction of the dock is also fairly flimsy, but it doesn't bother too much.

So in summary, as a gaming keyboard, the G910 is amazing and I have no regrets. But if you plan on using this equally or heavily for typing documents or inputting data into Excel, I probably wouldn't recommend it.

Update: 12/20/2015

After having this keyboard for about 14 months, a problem has developed. For some reason, an entire section of my keyboard no longer lights up. Or rather, I should say it flickers on for maybe 30 minutes, and then suddenly it turns off. Sometimes it'll turn back on briefly after I restart my computer, but sometimes it doesn't. I contacted Logitech support and followed their troubleshooting steps, which basically involved uninstalling the Logitech gaming software, unplugging keyboard, reinstalling latest software/firmware, and then plugging keyboard back in.

Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem, so I have to RMA the keyboard. But what I recently discovered is that Logitech's support has taken quite a nose dive. First of all, their email support takes forever to respond. I would wait sometimes 1-2 weeks before getting any kind of response. Before, I would just talk to a customer rep immediately on the phone. Secondly, they used to send me a new unit without even having to return the defective unit. With this keyboard, they're requiring I send in the keyboard first for repair, and then they'll return the unit. I then asked them what am I supposed to type with on my desktop while waiting for the replacement? Buy a new keyboard while waiting for the RMA? Their response was "that is our process". Now I know that is the normal RMA process for most companies, but I'm used to the stellar support of the Logitech of the past.

Update: 1/23/2015

So I recently bought a Corsair K70 mechanical keyboard (w/ Cherry Red MX switches and Red LED backlighting) for a different computer system, so I now have a reference point to compare the G910 to. The G910 looks and feels like a premium keyboard, whereas the K70 has a much cheaper look and feel.
- First off, the LEDs used for the K70 bleed a bit around the keys, whereas the G910 LED lighting is very well captured/contained within the keys.
- Secondly, the plastics used on the K70 keys feel cheaper than the plastics used on the G910. Or perhaps it's more appropriate to say the G910 feels more expensive than the K70. The G910 uses a soft-touch plastic (smooth, slightly soft matte texture), whereas the K70 uses your more typical plastic (I believe it's ABS). I realize that's a qualitative assessment and others may feel differently.
- Also, I much prefer the sound and tactile feel of the G910 keys. The one area I do prefer on the K70 is the perceived key spacing. The K70 feels naturally spaced, whereas the G910 has indented keys that might contribute to its seemingly smaller key-to-key spacing. If I had to describe how the shape of the keys feel, the G910 is like a sports car with bucket seats whereas the K70 is like an economy car with normal seats.

Space bar keeps getting stuck
by Leester (1 out of 5 stars)
April 13, 2018

This is a nice looking and responsive keyboard. It is a little on the large size and the keys are not very loud, but have a tactile feel to them. I am neutral on the key shape. My only problem with the keyboard, and this is a huge one, is that the space bar will get stuck in the down position. It can easily be pried loose, but you can't use a keyboard with a sticking space bar. That is the most used key on the keyboard, and the design must be flawed. The first one I bought started sticking within a week. I called Amazon and they sent me a new one in 2 days. That's great, but when you spend $100 on a keyboard, you want that kind of response time. So the second keyboard I received started sticking after 3 weeks. I'm just happy that it is still in the 30 day return window. Since it is Friday and I just returned it, I may not get my credit until next Tuesday. I'm not happy about that. Amazon used to refund your purchase right after the carrier checked it in, especially if you were simply getting an account refund which means you are going to turn around and spend it and give right back to Amazon. Now it seems they make you wait until they receive it. I would be ok with that if I had requested a refund to my card. Well, I guess it's not their fault this Logitech keyboard is a waste of time and money.

Good Keyboard, Lousy Space Bar
by goom (4 out of 5 stars)
August 27, 2016

I bought this keyboard as my Logitech G710+ was having problems with keys getting stuck and broken key-caps that I did not want to pay Logitech's overly high price of $40 for their factory replacement keys. (Side note: After my discontent with this keyboard I ended up just buying the replacement keys for the G710+. The Logitech G710+ factory replacement keys are not of the same finish and do not include o-ring dampeners as the original keys do.)

This keyboard has a small, beautiful form factor. The lighting feature is brilliant aside from the fact that you must have Logitech Gaming Software installed and running for it not to constantly display a shifting spectrum of colors on your keys. That is very obnoxious rather than it just being something like a solid white without the software running.

My main complaint with this keyboard is the space bar. All of the other keys on this keyboard are quiet, smooth, and feel great. The custom switches are unlike the MX Cherry Browns I have used on the G710+, but did not feel sub-par to them. The space bar however does not match this quality whatsoever. It is loose, rattles and makes a loud clacking sound whenever it is depressed with a regular typing pressure. I should not have to slowly and gently press the space bar for it not to sound obnoxious and feel like it is about to break. If you look up this problem you will find others of the same opinion. Whatever stabilizing mechanism they used in this keyboard was a poor choice, and it should have been changed before this product went live. It completely devalues the product. I would have kept this keyboard otherwise because, again, it feels great to type on and the RGB keys are really cool and customizable with the Logitech Gaming Software.

Logitech, please reconsider the space bar on your next revision of this keyboard or future gaming keyboards. The space bar is one of the most commonly used keys, so if I'm typing and notice an extreme difference in the quality, feel, and sound of it compared to all other keys... something is wrong. If you are not easily disturbed by sensory differences such as this, this keyboard may be fine for you. But please purchase this keyboard knowing that the space bar is like this and seems to be the intended design.

Too many deal-breakers on this keyboard to keep it
by Joel Thomas (2 out of 5 stars)
June 19, 2018

I ended up returning this keyboard because there were 2 big deal-breakers for me.

Cons:
1. The keys are super uncomfortable. The harsh angle in the scooped shape is just irritating to my fingers. Some people may like it... I am not one of those people. They also seem kind of crammed together, which resulted in a lot of typos when typing... although this is probably something I would get used to over time.
2. The wrist rest isn't removable. You can remove the piece of cheap plastic on the top of the wrist rest, but the base of the rest is still there and a part of the bottom of the keyboard. The worst part is that it's angled and not straight across. So you can't even use your own wrist rest (I like to use the glorious pc gaming race gel pads) because it won't lay flush against the base of the keyboard.

Pros:
1. The led lights are awesome. The light doesn't bleed around the keyboard and is very well maintained within the keys
2. The keys are really quiet for a mechanical keyboard.
3. The Logitech software is super user friendly and easy to use. It's a bummer I can't find a Logitech keyboard I like because I have the g402 mouse (awesome) and a Logitech webcam, and all their products run through the same easy software.
4. The volume wheel on the media controls is really nice.

Overall if you can get past the uncomfortable keys and crappy un-removable wrist rest, then this keyboard is a great gaming keyboard.... it's just not for me.

... negative reviews on Reddit and people saying it feels like a membrane keyboard
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)
April 18, 2018

Coming from a Cherry MX Red keyboard I was hesitant to buy this because of the negative reviews on Reddit and people saying it feels like a membrane keyboard. Well, firstly the Cherry Reds are kind of wobbly and these aren't. These are sturdy, shorter to press, has a very slight feedback that doesn't make any clicking noise, and they bounce back a little quicker. There is a slight noise but it seems muffled, and I actually like it. Honestly I wish I bought these sooner as they feel perfect for me. The volume rocker is quite big and rubbery for an easy slide, the media buttons give a nice click, gaming mode turns off keys like the Windows key so you can't trigger it accidentally while gaming, and the RGB itself looks like the best RGB of any keyboard since it doesn't bleed out from under the keys, it just shines through the lettering itself. It's dark right around the letters which I think is really cool. Whether the RGB lighting is on or off the keyboard itself looks very neat and clean, it has a minimalistic look that doesn't scream "gaming." So you can use it professionally in an office or at home. I wish only this keyboard existed. Lol ok maybe I'm kidding about that because we all like different types of keyboards. I think these are very good so try them and if you don't like them you can always get a refund.

Very good keyboard from Logitech
by David T. Kreal (5 out of 5 stars)

It's worth noting I have two different versions of this keyboard as I also have the Orion Spectrum. The main differences between the two are the keycaps and the palm rest, otherwise they are identical in terms of lighting and features.

The Orion Spark has been a polarizing keyboard partly because of the Romer-G switches they use in their recent keyboards, as well as the keycaps not being a smoothly curving shape. Rather, they have sharp angles to them, which I can see being a problem for some. For me, they help guide my fingers into the center of the key cap, but it isn't really necessary and if this is a hindrance to you, the Orion Spectrum has more conventional keycaps, although that model is harder to find these days.

The keys themselves are responsive and just clicky enough, although I'm not an expert on mechanical switches by any stretch. Hardware Canucks has an excellent video on their YouTube channel going through the different switch types if you really need to know where Romer-G fits in. I personally have no experience with any other type of switch, so I can't provide any comparison to other switches myself.

I personally love how the lighting looks on this keyboard. It just looks cleaner, particularly at night, and isn't as overwhelming as other keyboard lighting schemes. The main difference there is Logitech doesn't allow for the lighting to go around the keycaps, so the only light you see is the light coming through the keycaps themselves. The Logitech G Software isn't the most expansive when it comes to lighting effects, but the basic effects are there and the color looks very good on the keyboard. It is worth noting that the profile and media keys do not change color, so that could be a concern for people looking for specific schemes across all areas.

Overall, the keyboard is very solid, although the palm rest is too short and is particularly cheap on the Orion Spark. It also lacks a USB pass-through, which is something that I know a lot of people like. Those points aside though, it's a good keyboard, especially if you can find it on sale.

Do Not Buy This Keyboard
by Shawn (1 out of 5 stars)
May 12, 2016

Correction to the original review.

Liking this keyboard seems to be irrelevant to owning it. Everything is great, except the issues. There are a few issues that have been reported with this series, and that happens in manufacturing. However that's where support comes in. In my case, the Blue light on a few keys started to go out. So I reached out for support on the 9th of June. Then a few more keys went out. Then a few more. Now i'm at 20+ keys failing or failed, and Logitech finally reached out... on the 26th. 17 days, and the best they had was, did you try plugging and unplugging the keyboard.

To me support is everything. I have never had to wait over two weeks to hear back from a support team, even if it's to say it will take a while for them to get to me because of high volume. I can no longer recommend this keyboard, if Logitech cannot support it. Regardless of how much you may like the key action and features, the price of the keyboard is no longer worth it. Given that there are many competitors in the space offering similar products at far lower prices... I cannot imagine that this support strategy is sustainable.

Incidentally I purchased a Corsair, wireless gaming keyboard while I was waiting for support to get back to me. At half the price, and more features, even if the their support sucks, it's worth it.

The lesson here is that you cannot have a high priced item, and also have crappy support. Pick one. You've lost my business Logitech. It was a great 20 year run.

Reconsidering my enthusiasm for Logitech products
by Sarah (1 out of 5 stars)
March 28, 2019

I purchased two of these keyboards, one for myself and one for my husband. We are in need of new keyboards and have always had good luck with Logitech, so these keyboards seemed like a no-brainer since they were deeply discounted when we bought them.

Opening up the first box went fine other than the missing palm rest that many other reviewers have mentioned. Unfortunately, I didn't read through the reviews before my purchase, so I wasn't aware that our keyboards might show up without the larger palm rest. Lesson learned.

Things went from not-so-great to bad upon opening up the second box. The first clue that we were going to run into trouble is that it was packaged a bit differently. The first box had a plastic protective wrap over it, the second box did not. Also, the inner box for the second keyboard was torn. Neither of these issues would have been any bother to us, but gave us the impression that the second keyboard wasn't going to be similar to the first. Sure enough, the second keyboard looks like something that you could purchase from one of those sites that sells cheap knock-offs. Some LEDs aren't working correctly, there's a large scratch at the bottom on the label, there's something stuck between the keys, the feet are missing, the volume wheel is opposite (down for volume increase, up for volume decrease) and the plastics look like they've seen better days. I would have figured that we purchased someone else's return, but the outer box was sealed so we're assuming this is downright awful quality control on Logitech's end.

Even had we not had so many issues with the second keyboard both of these would be returned. The smaller palm rest is a deal breaker for both of us. For as expensive as these keyboards are they really should include both styles of palm rests. Fortunately, I ran into issues early so my troubles can be resolved quickly and easily. Read through other reviews before purchasing (I feel like a doofus for not doing so!) Many people have purchased this keyboard and it has failed shortly outside of Logitech's two-year warranty. I'm definitely not keen to have an expensive peripheral fail right outside of the warranty period.
