The name China comes from the name Qin (pronounced "chin").At the time, the Qin Dynasty was one of the largest and strongest empires in the world. It was located in what is today the eastern and central part of China. The capital was the city of Xianyang, near the modern day city of Xian.On March 29, 1974 while some local farmers were digging a new well, they discovered the tomb complex of Qin Shi Huangdi and the thousands of Terra Cotta warriors contained in nearly 600 pits.
