I've noticed after ordering this that nearly every good review on this item is written by the same person. They use the same broken English and same exact mistakes in punctuation. Almost similar language to the official product description which sounds really fishy to me. That being said...my official opinion of the item. Its plastic, not stainless steel. The dispenser dispenses soap very slow when compared to most dispensers I'm used to using (have to hold hand about 5 seconds under sensor to get enough to wash hands. The 3 volume settings for dispensing are hardly discernible. They all dispense nearly the same amount of soap. Also if you will notice, there are lots of people that rated this review as unhelpful, and that is a result of the distributor using multiple accounts to rate them down. You will notice others have had the same issue in their 1 star reviews. Stay away from this one guys. There's much better products out there. Shame on you seller for deceitful marketing practices.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

This is one of the most disappointing products I have ever purchased from Amazon. In the first place, a simple task like inserting the batteries is almost impossible because of the way the battery connectors are placed in the unit. It is impossible to insert the batteries without some of the springs popping out of the unit. After both my husband and I struggled for about an hour with trying to insert the batteries we finally got them in and the product dispensed the soap. However, within the year the unit stopped dispensing and did not work at all. I threw this product in the recycle bin last week. It is not worth the aggravation of even trying to fix it. This is the worst product I have ever used for dispensing soap and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. Do not buy this product.

I've never written a review, but after my shock at how crappy of a product this is despite it's being a "#1 Bestseller" on Amazon (the main reason I bought it, and to update my comment, it is thankfully NO LONGER #1), I've sat here reading reviews of it and have decided this is a scam. I don't know how all of these reviews happen to be of "verified purchases," but if you read the reviews one after another they all sound quite similar and phony. Little over-the-top stories of the goodness of the dispenser, talking about needs for a "high level of hygiene," and many with improper English. Even the current "most helpful critical review" I'm looking at now says "got here 3 weeks later but works ok," and somehow 8 people found that review helpful???? REALLY. Which 8 people, I'd like to know. The scammers writing their scam reviews? Anyway, back to the soap dispenser itself. The soap dispenser looks nice, but that's about it. I have the proper kind of soap in it, and new batteries, and I have it on the highest setting for soap-dispense-amount, but it barely gives a drop, and only actually dispenses soap half the time you wave your hand under it. Even my 2-year-old needs to get about 3 servings of soap to have enough to sufficiently lather his hands. It's actually rather funny because he stands there on his stool waving his hand under the dispenser saying "COME, soap!" in the same tone you'd tell a dawdling toddler to hurry up:-)

Anyway, just wanted to warn others to look for another soap dispenser, not this "#1 Bestseller." There's no way this should have ever been the best automatic soap dispenser out there.

What a disappointment!

It's less than 4 months since I bought it and it's already broken. First, the detector didn't really detect my hand or something that the soap just wouldn't come out until I do it many times. Second, the dispenser was leaking at the bottom that I just found out yesterday and it has been soaking the batteries and therefore the inside of the bottom part where the batteries are is all rusty. I only used this dispenser the most 2-3 times a couple of day (I kept it in the upstairs guest bathroom and rarely use it) and kept it fairly dry so I have no idea why this thing is so useless. I don't understand why there is good review for this product (that's why I bought it) but proven this is a junk. so I recommend DON'T BUY as it only last me 3 months with very limited use! You are probably better off to buy a good one from Bed bath and beyond for like $35 (the one I have in my kitchen sink and it lasts over 2 years now).

Ultimately, I am glad I purchased this unit. I was plain tired of putting a dish down to use both hands to pump soap on a sponge. This dispenser keeps things moving along when cleaning the big pots and pans/fine china that don't go in the dishwasher. The drawback is that it is slow to deliver the soap, so you sit there with the water running as it sloooooowly pumps the soap on the sponge. I really like that you can control how much soap comes out, but the more soap, the slower it is. Also, the faux stainless steel surface looks pitted and stained after several months of use. I tried to spruce it up, but it just doesn't clean up well. Overall, a good unit but it just needs some refinement.

I previously reviewed this product and recommended it. But I have changed my opinion.

It worked well for awhile, although the amount of soap dispensed is a bit small (not adjustable). The overhang of the spout is short, resulting in difficulties if, for example, you were using this product to dispense detergent into pots, pans, or bowls for cleaning. A longer overhang would be helpful, especially for people with arthritic hands.

But the real insult was when the flimsy, removable plastic base with plastic legs chipped and split. Another disadvantage is that since the base is a hard plastic material, it tends to slide out of its location on smooth countertops such as solid surface, stone, and stainless steel.

Piece of Junk!

I cant imagine how this thing has great reviews. Its a complete piece of junk, quite literally...I'm throwing mine away after less than a month of use. First issue one day it turned on and just refused to turn off, soap kept flowing while I was scrambling how to turn the damm thing off. No dice. I pulled out the battery and then it finally stopped. I plugged the battery back in and then it started working again. But now after about another 2-3 weeks it just died! Nothing I tried will bring it back to life. This goes to the bin, and I go back to using a hand pump dispenser.

Not a reliable product

Ordered for Christmas with plenty of time to spare but took over 2 weeks for delivery which was past Christmas time. This unit comes from overseas and will take long to deliver. Once received, had to go buy 4 AAA batteries because they did not include them, which is not what I'm use to. After couple of weeks of use, noticed soap dispensing by itself wasting soap all over the sink. Next thing you know, it was not working. Try to fix it myself, I noticed that that soap leaked into battery compartment at the bottom and battery acid and corrosion started causing issues.

It's a mess and cheap product. I do not recommend this. Spend a little more and get a better one domestically.

Quirky!

I just remodeled the guest bathroom in chrome and white ceramic . I purchased this soap dispenser based on the reviews and it coordinated with the guest bathroom. However it's very quirky . I placed it on the glass shelf above the sink which has chrome accent pieces and the napkin holder is also chrome and parallel to the dispenser there is a chrome outlet cover. The dispenser not work consistently in the bathroom unless I held my palm almost in direct contact with the dispenser opening BUT if I placed the dispenser on the kitchen counter it worked every time. It appears the sensor is disrupted with the chrome accessories on either side.

Product worked well for dish soap when mixed with a little bit of water.

The three settings are mostly useless due to the amount of soap that comes out with the first two settings just not being enough.

The dispenser did its job for a little over a month and is now useless to me. I found one day it not working, so I changed out the batteries. Then found soap pouring out of the battery compartment, I have no idea how this would have happened. Needless to say it is now a soap dispenser that does not dispense soap.

Will be looking to purchase a different brand.
