Cute pens, if you order three sets.by Natalie Frodsham (4 out of 5 stars)

This is what three sets of pens look like in the rose pattern cup they suggest to go with it. Three sets seems to be the optimal number. If you stuffed a fourth set in, you would have trouble pulling the pens back out of the cup. There is one hole on each pen that goes all the way through it...not sure why, but it certainly makes them look less realistic. And they are as thick as normal pens so they look more like plant leaves than grass. They also came from China and took almost three weeks to deliver so plan in advance. If you order three sets and procure a cute cup to go with it, it will make a nice presentation.

I ordered 24 of these pens. They were all there, I counted. The quality is much better than I was expecting. They write smoothly and are comfortable to grip. Be careful opening the packaging envelope. I used scissors and at the very edge and ended up snipping off a few of the grass tops. It wasn't a big deal or especially noticeable. I love that these pens are both functional and decorative!
They loved the pens so much and all of my guests ...

I had a party at my home. I bought 2 doz pens and had them in a jar on the table for my guests to use. They loved the pens so much and all of my guests wanted to keep them. The pens wrote smooth. My guests begged and i had to relent and let each take one home. Now i am waiting for the 2 doz pens i had to reorder to come in for me. Geez
Love it!

I love these! They are adorable and it stops my students from stealing my pens since they assume its a plant!

I am the person with the desk you want to come to if you need your day brightened.
When I went to a museum, I bought several flower pens, a flower pot coffee mug and I "planted" these blades of grass in with them. So adorable.
I LOVE these pens, they are so fun and if any one tries to steal them, they are so distinctive, I will know who has them, LOL! They are refillable and fit with the following ink refills:
20 Gel Ink Pen Refills With 0.07 CM Thick Pen Point-02

20 Gel Ink Pen Refills With 0.05 CM Thick Pen Point-02

One note, you will have to cut off a little less than an inch on the end (you will not be cutting off any ink) to make it fit the grass pen.
I ended up buying two sets of 12 to make sure that they would fit and look a little fuller. It was perfect!
Pros:
They are refillable
They write well
They are super unique
If you have a sensory need, these can add that little bit of play which looks like you are just taking a ton of notes
Cons:
These are long so they do not fit in an "average" size pencil case, but who cares, they are made to be on display anyways
defective, barely a "pen"

They don't look as great in person, and you're gonna need at least 3 sets to make it look like the photo in any way at all. I bought one and now i've committed so I just bought two more. They're kitschy and cute, but I don't really wanna bring one into a meeting or anything serious at all. A little too pinterest for me. Maybe I should put them in a clay pot?
UPDATE: Just a day after getting them, half of them don't work. They just scratch the paper. I maybe have one that works? Unfortunately I ordered two more sets just to fill up the container before I realized that most of them were useless. It's really not difficult to make a pen. I don't understand how I could have 11 defective pens in one pack. Plus, the silicone leaf covering slides off so easily that it's even difficult to actually get to the point of the pen. You end up with a silicone tube and a pen well jammed into the cap. Hopefully the other ones I ordered impulsively won't turn out to be as poorly made.
Poor design and poor ink quality

The price is certainly right on these, and they are cute (though my cats really like to chew on the ends). The pens are a little less than usable though. The inner workings of the pen slides right out of the grass blade part really easily unless you grip the pen really hard while you pull the cap off. My kids were flummoxed by these until I showed them how they work. The ink is gel, but I've found it comes out a bit unevenly, and often if I move the pen quickly on the paper (i.e. crossing out an item on my To Do list) the pen ink doesn't keep up with the movement and I have to go over the same movement again. I despise poor ink. (And I prefer to use blue ink, but that's simply personal preference and not this pen's fault). I wouldn't purchase them again, and am glad I only got one set to try out rather than populating a whole grass patch on my desk as some commenters seem to have done. Cuteness doesn't trump function on these.
Love these!

I use these at work all the time. My students are never prepared for class, so they ask me for pens and pencils constantly. I leave the caps on my desk so I know how many pens I need back at the end of class. Out of all of my poorly prepared students, only one doesn't like them. (And he finally started showing up with his own pen since he's not a fan of these!)
The ink runs smoothly, similar to a gel pen, but it has a finer tip than most gel pens. The "blades" look a little dirty after awhile, so I take the pen part out and run the silicone grass blade through the dishwasher. They look brand new. A few reviewers complained that when you take the cap off, the pen stays attached and the decorative blade is removed. This only happened to me once. If you pinch the blade close to the cap with one hand and remove the cap with the other, it's not a problem. I've purchased three units of these so far, and I love them! They are the only pens that my thieving little tenth graders haven't walked off with!
My only complaint is that I have been unable to find where I can buy replacement ink. Honestly, the pens themselves are so inexpensive, buying more wouldn't be a big deal. Also, shipping takes a good while, so purchase them a month or two before you plan on using them.
Will buy again

I love these pens. They are decorative and liven up my workspace considerably as we are unable to keep real plants in my office. I was very happy with how cute they were but didn't expect that they would be such high quality for writing purposes!!! These pens have an amazing writing quality, arrived a day early than my expected shipping date and have soft rubbery grip which makes using them a joy.
10/10 recommend as I've already had several positive comments.
Very bright color - especially the neon yellow blades of grass

I ordered two batches of grass like other reviewers suggested - in order to make the cup more full like the photo. I'd say the photo is 2 1/2 batches of grass. I like the pens alright, but they need to be capped because they are a very fine point and I worry they will be damaged with out the cap. The biggest disappointment is that the color is VERY bright - brighter than the photo. I think they would look more realistic if the neon yellow blades were toned down a little bit. Overall, they look a little more fun, cartoonish and silly, and a little less realistic.
