Tight but fits and its pretty fun

Pretty much exactly like the picture of the item. I call it my "Gimli Hat" of course no its not that original but it is surprisingly comfortable. The Beard is yarn (as is the hat) so not hugely warm but if you have a hood it works just fine with it too. The yarn does catch on velcro very easy but that is not the fault of the maker, nor would i steer away from the hat for that reason.

I had my wife sew the little "nose bar" up as the hat is too tight to my head to be exactly like in the picture for the beard to work right for me.

I live in Alaska and have worn it outside during some of the current winter and it does a good job of keeping my face warm and moderate on the head. In rain/show I put up my hood for the top and good to go.

All in all, good birthday present and I actually do wear it, so its fun and funny as well. Confused the heck out of my 15 month old daughter as well at first. She knew it was me but gave me a bit of a "hmmm you're looking odd" kind of look at first.

I bought this for a friend for her birthday and I just had to get a second one for myself. We are both incredible LOTR fans and getting a Gimli beard (even though it is called 'Barbarian Warrior Beard Head') is really a great, albeit unnecessary, addition to our mounting collections.

The beard is removable and I think this is so that you could wear the hat by itself; however, if you are a girl, or have long enough hair, you can just wear the beard! Do this by tieing your hair back into a pony tail and slipping the buttons into the hair behind your ears. This is a really fun, useless product, but a great gift for nerds with a sense of humor.

I can't say how awesome this helmet and beard actually is. The construction is better than I expected, and I was delighted to see that the inside of the beard is lined with comfortable fleece material that keeps it from being scratchy. It is light to wear, warm and fits excellently due to the potential for adjusting the height of the beard, which can be removed if wanted. This was a purchase made in anticipation of attending a sneak preview of a certain relevant movie coming out next week, and I am excited to stand in line wearing my war bonnet and beard.

If you are on the fence about this purchase, go for it! Too much fun for one hat, and I get compliments and (generally positive) attention every time I leave the house with it over my face.

I really enjoy this hat. It's only drawback that I can see is that the space for the mouth/lips is a little small. My wife tells me I have a big mouth anyhow so that may not even be applicable to everyone...all I do is set the mustache part under my nose and talk underneath the beard...I get lots of fun looks and one rather tall and very attractive blond woman actually asked me out on a date. When I told her I was married she invited my wife along...this hat is the bomb! It's slightly snug but I have a large melon.

Totally awesome! I wore it while snowboarding and was able to remove the knitted helmet from the beard, attach the beard to my actual helmet, and keep my face warm all way. I covered the velcro on my jacket so the beard wouldn't get stuck in them. I got a lot of compliments and smiles.

I think the beard looks especially good when it's filled with snow.

You've got to try and make sure the mustache stays positioned correctly. Also, I sometimes needed to re-braid sections of the beard, as they might have unraveled while I was snowboarding quickly and jumping off snow ramps.

After Cancer took my hair and it was in winter I wanted the church family to know I will WIn I have CHRIST on

my side no matter WHAT....people are sad for you but shouldn't be these are a TON of fun all the time I only hope

the company does well and comes up with some more ideas...Maybe Christian themed heads? JOB, Moses?

We purchased a beard beanie for my daughter's Lord of the Rings party (dwarves) as well as a Gandalf hat for the kids to wear. The kids had a blast with this beard (and so did the adults)! The beard and beanie combo are of excellent quality and easily withstood a lot of pulling and tugging that kids do when overly excited and hyped up on sugar. The photos of the kids wearing the beard beanie were particularly hilarious! My husband is contemplating wearing the beard beanie to football games as it does a terrific job of keeping your head and face warm. Two big thumbs up!

I actually have a sort of big head, so I wasn't expecting much from this but holy cow. It can be a little tough to talk/drink/eat through the mustache-beard combo, but it just looks so cooooool, and I can't wait for the Winter to give this baby a real test run, haha. It's so Viking/Dwarfy, I just love it.

I bought the long gray one for my boyfriend and the kids black beard for my nephew. The kid kept calling it his "facial beard" which was awesome and my boyfriend hasn't let a day go by without wearing his. I have grown to almost hate it because he loves it so much.

Fit is good. I am going to be attending a Lord of the Rings event, and this will be just perfect. The yarn material of the beard and cap are not scratchy, but are actually quite comfortable.
