Awesome Camera Bag

Very happy with this bag. It fits my Canon EOS 7D perfectly. In the photo I uploaded, it has the 50mm lense and the 28-135mm on the right. I also have extra accessories, such as my Speedlite 430EXII, located in the top pocket.

Can't beat the quality for the price

Holy smokes, this is an awesome bag for the money! I got the Wanderer and it fits all my gear perfectly, is fairly comfortable to wear with 15lbs of gear, and looks very streamlined to boot.

I'm a 5'5" female so I wanted something cute that would hold all my stuff and not overwhelm me; this fits the bill so perfectly that I have retired my $200 camera purse (which was a pain in the neck, literally!)

Gear list:
-Canon 5D
-50mm, 85mm, 100mm, 28-130mm, 70-300mm lenses
-flash
-lightosphere
-plus extra batteries, charger, cf cards, cf reader, folded reflector, and the front pocket is still empty to toss in my keys/wallet/cell phone.

I seriously can't recommend this enough!

Great bag!

Great bag. I've been wearing it on my travels and it is very comfortable and easy to access on the fly. Divider system is not as well-designed as it could be but there is plenty of room for my camera and two lenses. And yes, it does fit with a 70-300mm lens attached to the camera!

Just slightly larger and this would be 10 stars.

If you like carrying around a bunch of photography stuff and/or you have the more expensive FX lenses that tend to be bigger. This is probably not going to function as nicely as you like. I am one such photography and I love the design of the bag but it's... inches too small. This would be a 10 star bag if just an extra inch was added in width and potentially length.

Fantastic design. This thing works as a sling, swings around just like pictured and has buckles on the front to prevent camera items from falling out when you unzip it. But if you want easier access you just unbuckle them, no fuss, nice and simple.

The strap for the bag is also great. The band is wide so even when I put heavy lenses in it the strap doesn't dig into my shoulder. It also has a buckle for quick removal and an extra across your stomach for stability.

For me, it's slightly too small. I love the fact they kept is small but for what I want to use it for I am stuffing it a little too much...

FLASH

This bag definitely can't fit my flash... I am simply not comfortable with taking it out of it's case to fold it oddly in the top like they show. I'd almost rather put an extra lens up there in a case than do that.

LENS AND CAMERA

If you own a basic DSLR with DX lenses you will easily fit- Camera Body, stock lens (24-120mm), a 35 mm(or 55mm) and a small telephoto(70-200mm, 70-300mm gets slightly too long for standing tall as shown in picture)

If you own a camera that uses FX lenses... Be prepared to stuff... you can get the body with a lens attached (not telephoto) and a smaller 35mm or 55mm lens but if you want to add a telephoto you have to start changing the way the camera sits inside the bag and personally I am a little weary of how protected the camera is at that point. I will say it fits but just not well.

TRIPOD

The side pocket would fit a small tripod as shown but I have yet to test how well the tripod really stays put and wears on your back like that. I am guessing it's not going to be as nicely wearable as I hope. As far as a gorilla tripod, this would definitely sit there and travel just fine.

LITTLE STUFF

There are several pockets for the little stuff. Extra battery, memory cards (strongly encourage a large case not individual memory card cases bc they will fall out, cleaning cloth, lens caps and so on. I do wish this had at least 1 zippered pocket but it doesn't :(

In short

PROS-

Design, style, wearablity and comfort I give 10 stars out of 5 :D Very very happy with this aspect of the bag.

Easily fits smaller DX lenses and body

Lots of small pockets

Love the space for tripod

CONS

Slightly small if you are using FX lenses (ONE to TWO inches in width and depth would make this a perfect back for FX lenses as well!)

Personally don't feel it fits a flash

Wish one or two of the pockets zipped instead of velcro

With all that said, I'd buy it again. It's functionality is so incredible that I just have to have it and will continue to work with it in hopes I find a better solution for the storage spacing of the lenses... good tetris practice.

Easy on, easy off
by JLF (5 out of 5 stars)

Just received this camera bag and after putting all my things it is I can say it is a Great camera sling backpack. Slinging it over my shoulder is easier for me to put on and I love it that you can pull it around the front of you and get into the main pocket with the camera in it.

I can fit my Canon T5i with the 18-55mm lens on it and both the 300mm and 250mm lens in with the camera. In the netting pocket inside that area I have both spare battery and spare camera card in it. There is room left to tuck my charger in and take with me if I am going to use this for trips.

In the area at the top of the backpack I have both my 50mm and 10-18mm lens in it. It is not too tight buy snug enough that they won't be moving around banging into each other. The netting pockets inside this top area hold my remote controller, cleaning cloths and cleaning brush.

I am pleased that as I pulled the sling backpack around to front that the main pocket opens to the side facing up, toward my face and I can get into it without fear of anything falling out. There is a latch across that pocket that you can unlatch and unzip all the way open if desired.

I have a big tripod but it does fit, the bag has a small pocket for one leg of tripod to go into it and a strap to hold the tripod tight. I tried it and wouldn't be worried at all to carry the tripod on the bag although I like using my mono pod better than a tripod. The mono pod fits very nicely also.

This is a good quality bag. I have bought several bags for my camera but this one is going to be my favorite because of the space, ease of putting it on, carrying it.

One thing I didn't see when first ordering this was a picture of the extra strap that goes across the front of you. I can see where this would be a great help if you are hiking with this pack on as it levels out the pack and makes it more like a backpack and very secure. But if you have it snapped on, you can't bring the backpack around to the front until you unsnap it. At least you have a choice.

I highly recommend this bag.

Excellence undermined by one issue.

I really want to love this bag. It is well designed and fits my needs exactly. I am using it to carry my itx computer to and from work and I plan to use it as a carry-on to fly with the computer. I wanted a durable, protective but compact backpack I could securely and comfortably carry my build in.

Comfortable... Check.

Secure... Check.

Compact... Check.

Protective... Check.

Durable...ehhh.

The main canvas-like material the bag is made from seems to be holding up ok for the week and a half I've been using it. It seems like pretty decent quality. The top seams on the straps however look to be a little overmatched to the weight of my components and I've begun to use the handle at the top as much as possible. The straps haven't broke or anything but when grabbed by one strap to pull the bag on my shoulders the stitching pulls and I'm not convinced it's not going to fail.

When on my back, the bag feels great. Cushions are supportive and well placed, and the weight distribution is wonderful.

The purple zipper lining throughout the bag is complete garbage however. There is no other way to describe it. It's sewed on with the weakest stitching I've ever seen and it frays with the slightest touch. Zipper catch? Massive fray. Velcro strap touch it? Rips off and frays to the point of failure. I've started to burn the frays its gotten so bad, just to keep it under control. I even ran my finger over it to brush something off and it frayed. No joke.

I really want to keep this bag and it's a testament to how great everything else about the bag is that I haven't sent it back for the inside seam liner. I'll update this review if anything changes. It's really too bad about the zipper lining because everything else is good to excellent quality.
*Update*

Customer service contacted me and was willing to find a way to resolve my issues with the bag. They also made it known my complaints were forwarded to the manufacturer which made me feel like my opinion was valued. Hopefully they will improve the material used for the lining in the future.

I am still using the same bag i ordered despite the shortcomings of the lining. I occasionally have to get out a lighter and melt the frays down to keep them from getting worse but it looks like the issue is only bad in areas where it comes in contact with the zipper or heaven forbid, Velcro. It has otherwise performed great on a daily basis and I'm not willing to junk this one just because of the lining when it fits my needs perfectly.
*Update*

I have changed my review to 5 stars based both on the customer service I experienced, and the fact I clearly received a defective bag. I was sent a replacement bag and was able to compare the lining material of both. It's obvious the first bag's lining I was shipped is inferior. I tried to stick the Velcro strap on both, the first instantly snagged and was destroyed when I pulled the Velcro off. The second resisted the Velcro and never snagged.

By far the best customer service I've ever experienced and now this bag has no short comings. I love it. Thank you.

Fantastic value!

I bought this bag for a trip to Alaska. After reviewing A LOT of camera bags I pulled the trigger and purchased this one and am glad I did.

This bag held my Nikon D500, Tamron 150-600mm G2, Tamron 70-200mm G2, Sigma 17-55mm along with batteries, chargers and memory cards as well as a tablet. This bag was seriously weighted down and I was concerned about the seams. No worries, the bag held up like a champ and was comfortable to wear. I'm a big guy @ 6'0" 300 lbs and the straps fit fine.

If you are on the fence, purchase this bag. Great value for the features.

Problematic Zippers All Around
by Captain Blue Sky (1 out of 5 stars)
January 1, 2018

Very disappointed in this Altura Photo Camera Sling. The padding seemed slim, to say the least, but the deal breaker for me were zippers on the bag which were always snagging on the bag material. Not one of its zippers opened or closed without difficulty; they all got hung-up on the surrounding material. The zipper issues were so substantial I returned the bag after a few days and ordered a more expensive LowePro sling pack instead. The LowePro sling had zippers which worked flawlessly, and the amount of padding in the LowePro sling was much more substantial and could easily prevent damage to the camera in an unintended drop. I've purchased Altura products before but never their camera bags. I know now not to even consider them as this one was sub-standard.

It is truly perfect for my needs
by GypsyI (5 out of 5 stars)

You won't go wrong purchasing this camera bag. It is truly perfect for my needs. It holds more than I anticipated. I brought it on vacation and fit a DSLR with a 150-600mm lens attached along with 2 other cameras (1 mirrorless & 1 Bridge camera) 4 extra lenses, batteries, 2 battery chargers, and other accessories. I brought it on on boat trip where we got soaked, and the waterproof cover certainly came in handy and did its job. The removable inserts are very adjustable to accommodate whatever you have to put in there. There is also compartments on the front and side of this bag with a cleaver holder for a tripod. i haven't used it all that much, but it seems to be really sturdy. I had a lot of weight in this bag and the handles held up fine. The thing I like the most about this bag is that is was able to fit my 150-600mm lens inside the bag while it was still attached to the camera. I am including a photo so you can see how much stuff fits in this bag. I ordered the black with purple and I am happy with the color too :)

poor quality. liability for your gear
by Angel (1 out of 5 stars)
September 18, 2018

First impressions: the bag looks good, a little on the small end (I use a Sony a6000 with attached sigma 16mm which is a fairly large lens) but its exactly what I needed since it fit like a glove and is compact. Also held my 3 additional lenses and accessories fit just fine along with an attached small tripod to the loop on the side.

However, after just 2 weeks of normal use (I never even got to take it on a real shoot) of taking the camera bag to and from work and hanging it on coat hooks etc the handle ripped. Once it ripped I could not help but pull on the cord and it immediately unraveled hence why the handle looks frizzy in the picture. The handle showed no signs of noticeable wear when I received it.

Heres what upset me more than the bag ripping, the bag was just hung on a hook at eye level. I watched it when it ripped and crashed on the tile floor with my expensive camera and lenses, and because this bag is on the lighter end it has close to NO padding on the base. The side of the camera sits on the base of the bag. It banged so loud on the floor that you would think it was the sole camera with no protection hitting the floor. I rushed to check on my gear and the camera seemed ok for now, however I don't know if my lenses or sensors where damaged/misaligned in the fall. You try holding your camera at eye level and see if you would be ok with a straight drop, unsettling.

In conclusion, the bag looks nice, has good reviews, its compact.

BUT I can't recommend it whatsoever as you risk breaking your expensive gear due to "bag failure". This is not something that should not be a concern while your shooting or storing gear.
