Worst kit ever , no product information on Amazon page . 3d printed parts very bad quality, don't fit each over . Defective bearings are complete trash you have to buy new . Wiring diagram is a joke , incorrect and wires not marked .
Impossible to put together, you have to modify lots of parts.
And $800 for kit what able to print PLA only ??? Nothing but rip off .
Difficult to assemble and no tech support

The machine was difficult to put together. At the end (after 2 weekends of work) the machine would not print
Great printer but not for beginners!

Not sure about the complaints here but I love this printer! Mine was a return purchased through an auction. It had a few missing screws and some broken plastic pieces. Luckily I have access to other 3D printers so I was able to print all new parts for the i3. I contacted BQ support and they were very helpful. Since they are located in Europe you have to expect a slight delay in response times. But every time I asked them a question, they were back within a day. They got me the files to print the parts and after I got those printed I began the build.
This is not a beginner project by any means. If you are not mechanically or technically inclined, buy a printer that is already built. It took me about a weekend to assemble this printer and I had a ball doing it. Once it was together I fired it up and had it printing all kinds of things. I ran this printer side by side with one of the Lulzbot printers we use at work and the quality on the BQ was far better than the Lulzbot. Probably due to the smaller nozzle size which gave finer details.
I give this printer a 5 star, two thumbs up rating!
Bq technical support is terrible and they do not honor the warranty

Do not buy this printer. Bq technical support is terrible and they do not honor the warranty. It would take a week to get a response from them. After 27 emails and 3 months later they did not resolve my problem. The Arduino board (clone) failed and after several attempts to re-flash the firmware following the instructions from their Tech support, no success. I paid $550 for my kit !
I ended up buying a new Original Arduino board for $35 and it is now working.
In my option, this is no better than the cheap Chinese kits out there. Only with better building instructions, Not worth the extra $$$.
If I had to do it again, I would have spent just a little more and bought an Original Prusa i3 MK2
Worth the money.

I bought this kit on sale through Amazon. It was cheaper than upgrading my current printer. This kit was a great experience, as noted, definitely not for beginners. Each section of the printer was boxed separately and securely. The assembly instructions were highly detailed and easy to follow. Once the bed was leveled and the settings were dialed in, the NORMAL print quality was on par with the printed pieces in the kit. All that being said I did have to do a little sanding of some of the parts, this was mentioned in the instructions though. The 5mm Z axis rods were also warped. Not enough to prevent function but too much for the maker in me. I was able to find chrome replacements that were arrow straight, from McMaster-Carr.
Love our printer.
