Product Description

Serve up mess-free antipasti and olives with scoop and pick. This diminutive design is actually two tools in one. Firstly, the long-handled slotted spoon ensures that you can scoop and drain from even the deepest jars. Secondly, the handy integrated fork is ideal for skewering difficult to serve foods like pickles. Both tools clip together when not in use to ensure easy storage. Dishwasher safe.

Great idea and it looks like the perfect olive retrieval ...

Great idea and it looks like the perfect olive retrieval device, but the actual product is a fail. The spoon end is way too big and the sides are so high you cannot turn it to actually grab the olives. It just packs the olives down as you try to maneuver the bulbous spoon end. I've yet to get a single olive out of a jar with it, not one! Maybe if you had only a few left at the bottom you'd be able to get them out, but ONLY in that instance. And the little fork is hard to remove and it is very tricky to spear the olives with it once you've wrestled it loose.

Well Thought-out and Very Useful.

Well thought out and very useful. The accessory pickle fork that snaps into the handle expands the utility of this. It's so easy to pluck olives or pickles out of a jar, but also capers, minced garlic, peppers, you name it. Anything that you can't just hook with the scoopy shaped spoon you can still get using the pickle fork and spoon together. I suppose that if you buy pickles and stuff in gallon jars there's a limitation since the handle isn't 20 inches long. In that case the ones in the bottom will be difficult, but just snap the aerial off of your car and duct tape it to this spoon! You can go on enjoying your gallon of pickles without further interruptions then.

No more olive brine all over my hands

If you want to get olives and pickles out of the jar without getting liquid on your fingers, this is a handy kitchen gadget. The bowl of the spoon has a nice deep shape, making it easy to fish out olives without worrying about them falling out halfway to the top. The handle is long enough to accommodate most any jar of olives. The handy pickle fork snaps into the handle so you don't have to worry about misplacing it or accidentally jabbing your fingers with it when it's in the drawer. The product is well made, and I think it's going to hold up well.

So easy to get olives and pickles out of the jars now.

I love olives in my salads so I buy the big jars of olives at Sam's Club and this spoon with drainage holes in it works great for getting those big olives out of the jars. I was using a large spoon but got lots of juice and even then the olive would roll off but not with this spoon and fork. The fork is small and snaps into the back of the spoon so you will always be able to find it. The spoon works best with the smaller olives but it works good for the larger ones, too.

I use this all the time!

I cook with capers a lot, and whoever decided the jar opening of EVERY SINGLE BRAND should be 1" wide obviously does not use capers. This little doodad has saved my sanity! No more pouring the whole jar into a bowl so you won't lose the liquid, spooning out what you need, then trying to get what's left back in the jar through the ridiculous opening without spewing the liquid all over the counter ('cos of course capers don't fit through a funnel). For the price this has so much value! And it has a tiny fork for baby pickles and other things that come in jars with small openings. Definitely a must-have for home cooks.

Simple but very handy tool. Bought for all my friends

I bought one of these in a store for myself and went back and bought two more for friends. They loved it. It makes getting pickles and olives our of jars so easy. Behind the scoop is a removable fork for spearing. What a great idea. Anyway, the store didn't have any more so I bought two more on Amazon for more friends. And now I realize that another friend would like it, so I'll order another one. Joseph Joseph does make "good idea" products and this is definitely one of them.

Useful tool for olives lovers.

It's actually useful tool for olives eaters. I can remove olives even from tall and narrow jar and I don't have to remove all contents to a bowl in order to serve olives.I just remove as many as I want and place them on a serving plate. Little fork might be useful in some situations but spoon is more important. I also like the color and quality of this spoon.

Never knew we needed something like this at our home
by ekim (5 out of 5 stars)

Never knew we needed something like this at our home, even with the amount of olives we consume. It really is a convenient tool to have - easily scoop out a single olive leaving all the juices behind. The slotted spoon is the perfect size and the built in fork comes in handy to pick out your catch the rest of the way, leaving the spoon ready to go back in for some more. Works like a charm on olives, pickled pearl onions, and even cornichons.

Excellent

This scoops up olives from jars beautifully, and the little fork is fantastic for pickles. Both parts wash up well in the dishwasher's silverware basket. My only problem is that I'm eating a lot more pickles and olives now.
