Quarter Life Crisis Shopping
by Alexa (5 out of 5 stars)

There comes a point in one's life where one questions, "what is happiness?" "Surely, it cannot be bought, I've always been told." Well, friends, that is no longer correct. I may not have much money left but this is the right shark for me. I can't express how excited and how much better my day became when I was coming home from my minimum wage job to find this on my porch. I immediately slipped into the costume and felt my stress and difficult transition into adulthood become more at ease. I danced around the house, attempted to eat pizza, surfed the web, and realized I would not be able to pee for 3 more hours until my parents returned but the latter was just not important because of how great and adultlike this purchase was. I'm unsure if I ever want to have my normal identity ever again. It is not extremely hot but will get warm and the vision is most likely worse than not having eyes at all but if you have no desire to be able to see and have a bladder that can last a good 3 hours this costume will greatly please you. It shipped incredibly fast and is really a good size for a 5'6" human. You will not regret making yourself happy 🦈🦈🦈 They said I could be anything, so I became Left Shark. Thank you, Katy Perry and the completely coincidental lack of coordination that became a meme that makes me very happy.

Roomy and comfortable!
by Army M. (5 out of 5 stars)

I'm 5'2 and 150 lbs. The reviews picture different variations of this costume so you might get a different version, but this one is nice! Costume is a nice thin, lightweight, flexible foam and very comfortable to wear. Not heavy at all. Outer texture is kind of a shiny silky microfiber. It's big, but I'm a small person so I expected this. The head kinda wanted to cave in on one side since there is no stiffness at all to it, so the mouth opening wasn't always in front of my face. I made an apparatus out of a skinny pool noodle that consisted of a ring that sat on top of my shoulders with an arch that extended to the nose and it holds the head perfectly in place for me now. It doesn't slide down too far and keeps the head fully expanded so it's not all cockeyed and squishy. Some reviews say that there aren't any holes in the fins for your hands to poke through so I was pleasantly surprised to see that this one does have hand openings. The dorsal fin kinda flops back and forth and you can't get to the zipper by yourself (it's on the back, and really long) but I do really really LOVE this thing!!!

Nothing says welcome to a party more like a dude dressed up as a shark

I got this for a music video and well, I never did make the music video. I just used this costume to party in when I rage or own people in "Water" pong. Its small but I don't care, I still wear it. Nothing says welcome to a party more like a dude dressed up as a shark. You know its going to be an awesome night. If you're on the fence about buying it such as, "Eh will I use it?" "I only have $100 left till Friday" "My girlfriend is moving out and taking my dog" Just do it, buy it, you'll never know when you have to dress up as a shark. Did you buy it already? Why are you still here? Seriously? Bruh.

Amazing...
by Dmitriy Aristov (5 out of 5 stars)

OK. When I got it and put it on, I immediately started laughing. It is not identical to the Super Bowl Shark, but it is very close and has it's own charisma. In fact, when you look closely, the Super Bowl Shark suit is very very bulky and large, it would be too much for casual Left Shark afficionados. It is a very large costume still, that is you are about 7 feet tall in it. It is hot inside, but I found that there is a thermos effect, when you reach a certain temperature it keeps that temperature steady. The flippers are awesome, they make everything much more of a challenge. Just took it to the Magic Castle in Hollywood for members only night, and it...went...great! It is an instant conversation piece. People yell at you randomly. You can dance at anytime and it will look hilarious. Pretty much anything you do in this suit is hilarious.

Benefits:

Instant party.

Everyone loves it. Everyone.

The recognition split is 70% Left Shark, 20% "Land Shark" from some SNL skit, 10% "Shark! So Cute!".

Surprisingly very well stitched and made. I think I will get quite a few miles out of this.

Drawbacks (that are more like fun challenges):

Fins. They make everything way more challenging, but are somewhat grippier than I expected. I can hold a beer can, but I have to be careful. Without taking your costume you can actually take a hand out of the flipper and put it through the mouth, for emergencies. (Taking shots...) Will probably fix this by making a star shaped incision * so I can protrude my hands through. Otherwise, I just dealt with it.

You can't zip it up yourself because fins.

You can't unzip yourself because fins.

It is hot, but the bigger issue is ventilation. Probably will fix this by strategically making clean incisions under the arms and maybe some other places.

There is no zipper for going to the bathroom, sooo.... That's kind of it, deal with it. I will probably try to fix this issue as well, by once again, making an incision and maybe stitching a zipper or something. I haven't figured this out yet...

The head sags a bit, below the jaws which creates two issues: (1) visibility restricted to girls cleavages (2) sags a little bit and probably looks funky. I think I will fix this by inserting a piece of cardboard shaped so it hold up the chest area. I think it will fix all the problems.

Nevertheless, it is very pricey, but honestly I think it is worth it. Last year I bought a $35 Ninja costume at Party City, and though it looked somewhat OK, it was still cheap as hell and I threw it out almost immediately. This. This I will never throw out. My kids will inherit this.

Foam in Legs & Zipper all Ripped after Wearing 1 Time!
by HeadNtheClouds (3 out of 5 stars)
April 15, 2018

The shark suit was really cute & fit my 5'3" female body really generously (it was not too tight) . I built a cone shaped head piece out of cardboard, covered it in tape, held it on with long shoe laces that tied around my shoulders and in front under chin. This held the head up. The 1st thing I had to fix on the shark before I even wore it, was 1 of the eyeballs was so crooked and overstuffed, I had to take a lot of stuffing out & re-sew it. I would have sent it back, but I wanted to wear it to a Whale Festival days later.

Went to the festival & played shark & took pictures with people & danced to a Tom Petty tribute band. It all went well, (suit is hot, but not as hot as fur costume). The face lets in a lot of air.

Big con: Zipper came undone on the bottom & the threads came apart. I just finally went to try to repair the zipper & turned the costume inside only to see that the foam is extensively ripped all over and around the legs. I hope that this will not cause the fabric of the outside of the shark to rip.

Positive side: the shark is really cute & funny & people respond with good vibes; both adults and kids loved the shark. I danced, but not crazy or anything, I also bent down to hug a little kid & I think that is what caused the foam to rip, but I didn't feel it rip & the suit did not seem tight.

The legs are funny because of the design of the shark, to make it look like a shark.

If you really want to be a shark, this could be a good base design if you sew & reinforce the zipper before you wear it, especially at the bottom. I also made the fin in The back to stand up by bending a wire hanger to put in there, attached it to a rectangular piece of cardboard, (3x6" approx) attaching the wire by puncturing it through the cardboard & taping it. If you can make the head, sew the zipper &fix the fin to stand out, then this would be a great costume & last longer. I don't think the ripped foam in the legs will ruin the costume, but it does suck. Happy Sharking! And Spread Good Vibes !

Party sharks for anime convention.
by Ismaly (5 out of 5 stars)
May 23, 2016

What must I say best money I've ever spend hands down! Me and my brother bought this on a whim to have a cosplay for an anime convention and they were a hit drawing laugh and much attention. The shipping was so fast too!!!

Sizing:

I am 5'0 and the suit felt so huge but that wasn't much of a problem to me i had fun non the less. My brother on the other hand is 5'7 and his fit perfectly fine. The zipper is on the back so you can't zip yourself. The little trick we had was that my brother zipped me up first and since i could stick out my arms though the mouth hole I zipped him up which worked well.

The material on this is very good but a word of warning is hot very very very hot. We had to keep moving just so we won't be as hot and that was a feat unto itself walking around a very crowded convention hall and getting stopped every 30 seconds for a picture.

Some cons we encounter was that after 12 hours of wearing the suit( 6 hours for 2 days) dancing and moving around some of the stitches came undone. On my brother's one of the fins the stitches came off and on me on the eyes and near the zipper ends the stitches are coming undone. Another was that the head kinda doesn't stay upright but we tried having party hats on but they fell off I had to result to sticking my arm up to hold it in place. But that didn't dampen the fun we had those two days wearing the suits.

Do you need a shark suit? the answer is always yes its the life of the party and i don't regret buying them for one second.

Very cute, but very poor zipper
by Jeff A. Guth (2 out of 5 stars)
November 9, 2017

I think everything about this party shark costume is adorable. However, that being said, I didn't try zipping up the zipper until right before Halloween, and by that time, it was already too late to return, because the zipper is very poor quality and just doesn't work. There is no stopper at either end which makes it easy to come off. But the worst is that the smallest amount of pressure from a tug will unravel an already zipped zipper. Think about zipping up a jacket, and then in the middle, lightly pulling on each side of the zipper and watching the zipper unravel. It fails at the one thing a zipper is meant to do. I'll most likely stitch in Velcro or replace it with a quality zipper so I can at least sell it or use it again.

Soup, dancing and marriage.
by Marf (5 out of 5 stars)
July 16, 2015

I'm getting married. It's really intense. I find myself getting wasted on jagermeister and going for a dance in the shark suit to calm my nerves. I've done it so often that now I don't feel normal until I've done at least a couple dances after breakfast.

It's nice and warm in the suit. It's hard to eat soup while wearing it.

This is HANDS DOWN the best money I've ever spent. I bought two for me and my sister and we adore our sharks! We are both 5'2" and although it was a little big, it was still fun and easy to wear. For more photos of me and my sister follow @twolandsharks on instagram
