"HASSLE FREE PACKAGING" really mean "REFURBISHED & USED PRODUCT RE PACKAGING" ???by Straight Up Review (1 out of 5 stars)

Dont pick Hassle free packaging. My package showed up, Rival fell out of box and right away you could tell something was off. It has scratches and is dirty. It has diffidently been used. I installed the Batteries, it doesnt work. I went to store bought brand new batteries, still doesn't turn on or do anything. Bummer is, I lolly gagged around and just now got to filing a return request, only to find out I missed the return period by a couple Days :( Story of my life, sure a few of you can relate huh. So, I now have a paper weight, going to buy another, but this time select Original packaging as it looks Like "HASSLE FREE PACKAGING" really means "REFURBISHED AND USED" product
Great blaster for CQB operaters!

The Rival Zeus is a semi-automatic, magazine-fed, fly-wheel blaster. I found that it was easy to use and it caused one heck of a surprise to my friends when their lame dart-blaster wielding friend pulled this on them! Since there are some drawbacks and misunderstandings I'll go into them in a bit more detail.
As many reviewers and youtubers have pointed out, putting in and taking out the magazine is odd and takes practice. When I take out the mag, I usually use my thumb and middle finger to push down on both sides of the magazine release, then use my pointing finger to push it out. While doing this my palm comes up to stop the magazine from springing out, and my hand easily closes around it. I haven't studied how anyone else does it but that is just how I have come to cope with its odd magazine system.
As for the rest of the gun, I'll just point out a few things you might want to know.
Sights
The sights on this gun, at least in my opinion, are totally unsuited for its role. The sights consist of a rear "iron" sight shaped like any rear iron sight, and and a front sight that is the same shape but smaller. The problem is is that when you look through the rear sight the front sight is way smaller than the it. Also, the front sight is hollowed out as if you need to look through it to. Maybe l am just looking at this wrong, but it seems to be an odd choice of sights to put on this gun.
Jam door
There is a convient jam door on the right side of the gun that is very helpful to clear out jams. Because it is beside the flywheels and not above them, it was really easy to clear out the few jams I had.
Batteries
The gun takes six C batteries that fit into a tray that slides out of the top-back of the gun. With the weight being dispursed along much of the gun, it really doesn't feel as heavy as it should.
Ammo
Like any gun in the rival series, this blaster takes rival rounds. ALL TWELVE ROUNDS THAT IT TAKES ARE INCLUDED WITH THE GUN, WHETHER IT'S STANDARD PACKAGING OR HASSLE FREE. The hassle free packaging has the balls located at the BOTTOM of the box, so be sure to check it before you throw it away.
User friendliness
I found the blaster to be very comfortable to hold and shoot. Again, the magazine design is unconventional and takes some getting used to, but with practice it becomes almost natural. The handle is a bit small for the Rival line but is surprisingly comfortable. Even with the flywheels jutting out a bit the front of the blaster is a good place to put your hand, making the gun quite maneuverable.
Overall, this gun is good for people who like to dress up in black clothes and move in SWAT formation like I do:) Good maneuverability, decent capacity, the ability to take magazines and good FPS (90, average, according to other sources) make this a good blaster for CQB and inside playing!

it's a powerful toy. I shot my foot and felt it before I hand it to my 5 years old son, and then let him feel the hit with clothes protected, he nodded and said it's a little pain. So I warned him a lot not to point to anyone, only on some targets by the wall.
also the toy didn't come with batteries, you need to buy them yourself.

Kids love this gun, but the little balls are hard to keep track of and pretty small. Caution that little siblings might put them in their mouth.
Blaster's alright. But sort of a letdown.

Okay. Don't get me wrong, I'm not denying that the blaster performs well. It does. Shots are straight, accurate, and pretty efficient, which is what we've come to expect with rival blasters. It even looks super freaking cool. This one is probably my third least favorite though. Shouldering and holding the blaster is very comfortable, but loading and reloading the blaster is very awkward and not as fast as other blasters. And the low capacity of 12 rounds does not make up for the awkward reloads in my opinion (there are mods to fix that but I like to be able to at least handle and reload the blaster without mods). Other HUGE downside is that the C batteries chews up really quick with this blaster and it doesn't even last long enough for how expensive the battery cost is. And it's not compatible with the rival official rechargeable pack, soooo either leave it alone and pay for the batteries, or spend some time on the bench modding this to LiPos (for mod-heavy guys out there this shouldn't be too big of a deal). Final thing, and this isn't the blaster's fault, but I did not get the original packaging that I paid for. I just got the "stress-free packaging". Which I was rather infuriated about. And the last reason, ultimately why I gave this review 3 stars, is the plastic molding on this one particularly is very uneven, making the grip uncomfortable due to plastic seams digging into my thumb. So I may be sending this one back to try getting what I actually paid for (the original packaging) and to maybe have better luck with the blaster itself, maybe it'll look and feel better with proper alignment. For now, 3/5 is where I stand with this product

Love the gun! very powerful and shoots fast. Be careful though for the ammo and the instructions are all in the bottom piece of cardboard that holds the gun in place in the box. Don't through out the box without searching it!

My son wanted this new Nerf blaster; he really likes it - wished the pack held more. Made well - plan to get the larger one for Christmas. The balls are spongy and soft but sting a little when hit with one. My son has a collection and looking forward to adding this new style to it.
