Great little speaker but with no shuffle track option for SD card playback
by Jean (5 out of 5 stars)

Arespark AS200 has open clear sound with good bass response. It has controls to skip to next/previous tracks and a micro SD card slot to play music from. I wish it had the option to shuffle tracks while playing from SD card. Also to change the volume you have to long press the next/previous track buttons. This can cause accidental skipping of tracks - A better design would have been to reverse the button action required for changing tracks and increasing volume. i.e long press to skip track and short press to increase the volume.

I will recommend it over Oontz Angle 3 which sounds a bit tinny and has inferior bass response.

Great little speaker!

This is a really nice little speaker. It is very solidly made and sounds great given its size. I purchased this speaker to use at a job I was filling in for over the holidays. This job requires you to be on your feet constantly moving. Many people who do this job carry a Bluetooth speaker to help the time pass. The carabiner was the first to catch my eye when I saw this speaker. I clipped the speaker to a lanyard around my neck and put the speaker in the pocket of my hoody when working. The lanyard insured that I would not drop the speaker should it come out of my pocket. Sound emanates from the front and back of this unit and the carabiner also helps you orient it correctly. If the carabiner is on the right you will have the front of the speaker facing you. You will also quickly learn the button order as they are black and difficult to see. The speaker will get surprisingly loud and produces some semblance of bass. If placed on a flat surface it may actually move do to the sound vibrations it produces. I like that the speaker will play from a micro SD card and have one full of music in mine although I most play from my iPhone. The speaker can act as a remote camera shutter release when linked to an iPhone. That can be fun. I showed this speaker to coworkers and two of them bought one for themselves and one purchased as a gift. I believe you can easily spend twice as much on a speaker that will have poorer sound and fewer features than this little guy. Highly recommended.

Great for camping, canoing, fishing, hiking - long battery life
by Phil B. (4 out of 5 stars)
July 12, 2016

I brought this to Boundary Waters (canoe camping trip) for a week. It withstood about 1/2 day of rain and we left it outside overnight for several nights. Pairing worked fine, but I used the memory card to play all the music. There is no way to select specific songs or manage a playlist that I could figure out, it just randomly plays all the songs on the card. Speaker has very good to great volume (we never had it on full volume - it's crazy loud when on full) and the battery lasted the whole day which I found amazing. We were the envy of everyone we ran into on the trails. I was able to recharge it with a portable battery pack.

I can't give it 5 stars though as the strap broke on it during a normal hike and the battery light indicator is a little off. It was not abused extensively - maybe a little abuse, but nothing unexpected. I just had it attached to the back of my backpack or belt loop. Unfortunately, there is no way to disassemble it to fix the strap or replace it. It's factory sealed. The strap is made of rubber. If they replaced it with something more durable, just a nylon loop, this would get 5 stars. As for the battery LED charge indicator, at one point it showed two of three LED's which I expected to indicate 50% charge or so and was using it for about 1/2 hour. Then when I next turned it on, it was a dead battery. Topped it off and it was good for another 7-10 hours. Battery really did last a very long time. Perhaps because it wasn't using Bluetooth? Quite impressive though.

Wow. Just wow!

Several years ago I purchased a Bluetooth speaker. It was a deal, but it was really poor. It worked, but was anything but spectacular.

While doing a project for work I came across the Arespark Outdoor Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker. It seemed to do everything the project needed, and I became interested enough, I purchased one for myself.

When it arrive I first noted that the packaging was top notch. It was well protected, nicely presented, and well thought out. Upon removing the speaker, I first noted the heft was perceptibly more than my last speaker, despite actually being a centimeter or two shorter. The "soft touch" paint gives a pleasing hand to the item, while providing excellent grip.

Continuing, I dumped a few MP3 files to a Micro SD card and threw it in. The slot seems reasonably well protected, though I could see it being a little more tight to protect the connections. This is where my only real criticism came through. The manual. It is in its own strange form of Engrish, and is difficult to decipher. I did get enough of a hint what to do I was able to change the mode to the SD Card, and I was blown away. Out of this little package came great sound, surprisingly rich across the spectrum, with base that could almost make it double as a massage aid. Seriously, this thing rocks!

And then I figured out how to change the volume. At this point this little box's sonorous expulsions reached volume levels that were just plain shocking for the size.

If you can fiddle to figure out functions, and none were rocket science, then you will love this speaker. Bluetooth paired first try, it comes wit both a micro USB to USB cable and an aux cable, giving you access to the full range of capability. There is no charger, but you probably have a half dozen kicking around, or an empty USB port somewhere, so no biggie.

Basically, the Arespark Outdoor Bluetooth 4.0 Speaker delivers on the promise of big sound in a solid package. Their Amazon rating is well deserved. My take is a 4.5 star rating, but there aren't enough issues for me to dock it a full star, so 5 it is.

Yeah. Get it. You'll be impressed too.

Wireless Audio Rocks
by R. Voris (5 out of 5 stars)

If you have not experienced Bluetooth speakers for your laptop, STOP WAITING! I'm an foh (front of house) engineer, meaning I make a living with my ears. This speaker is intelligible and reproduces music faithfully. It sounds great at low volume and it gets pretty darn loud. For speech of any kind it can't be beat. The best part is I can take it with me to the kitchen or bathroom without dragging around a radio. This follows me around the whole house no problem.

The set up was painless. I turned on the laptop's Bluetooth. I turned on the speaker. The speaker was instantly listed on the PC, I clicked on it and voilĂ , they connected and I have been listening ever since. When the Bluetooth speaker is turned on it automatically turns off the PC speaker, and vice versa.

The only down side is it's restricted to mono, but for my purposes that's not an issue. I have not researched the water resistance of the product.

I've put a good eight hours on the battery and it is still showing two of three power dots. And you control it from your computer, or your phone or your whatever. The Arespark AS200 Wireless Portable Waterproof Speaker gets five stars from me.

Hey! This speaker comes with a Micro SD card slot to play music without pairing with a blue tooth de
by Vince Lee (4 out of 5 stars)

I really like this speaker. What the Amazon Speaker comparison chart fails to mention is that this speaker includes a micro sd card slot which allows you to save mp3 files and play off of the card! So, even if your cell phone battery is low, you do not have to pair it with this blue tooth speaker. That is super cool as none of the other speakers that I have researched can do this! I also love the fact it has a hook. This allows me to attach to my belt loop and my camera bag as I am photographing my clients. It also easily pairs with your phone. It's very loud, surprisingly. It's smaller than most blue tooth speakers I have owned, but appears to be just as loud. However, I do wish it had a wee-bit more base. If there is ANYTHING negative about this speaker it's that the buttons are hard to see (e.g. power on is on one side and pair blue tooth is on the other and play/pause, next track and previous track are in the center, yet they are ALL black), so in situations where you have little light you don't know which buttons you're pressing. Other than that, it's a very nice speaker.

UPDATE: I placed this speaker on top of my car last night while I did some work outdoors. The song had a lot of bass. Before I realized it the speaker had fallen off the top of my car and hit the ground. Surprisingly it was not broken, cracked or damaged (more than likely due to the exterior rubber casing). I didn't know how it had fallen off. So, I placed it on the car again and watched it. If you have a song playing that has a lot of base the speaker will actually MOVE around on a flat surface. So watch out for that!).

Built like a tank!!!
by Luis (5 out of 5 stars)

This speaker is amazing! The sound is crystal clear and rich, the bass earth-shattering powerful. I was expecting a decent speaker for the price but this went way overboard; it feels heavy in your hand, feels expensive. The built quality is impeccable, the button placement and pairing intuitive. It's rated IPX4 which means it can handle splashes and environmental water; I've personally tried it in the shower and pool (everything short of total submersion) and it handles it like a champ. Only thing I haven't tried is the speaker-phone and photo shutter functions but I'm sure they work just fine. The charging indicators and connection lights are bright and easy to see even in bright sunshine and I personally really like the aesthetics. I'm not a huge fan of having to hold the forward and reverse buttons to increase/decrease the volume but it's not a big deal and many devices use the same controls; plus, the volume can get quite loud, enough that I can easily hear it throughout my two-story house. In a small room the sound completely fills it and envelops you. I plan on using it on camping trips and backyard barbecues and such and it's perfectly suited for the job. Highly recommended.

THIS is what I've been looking for!!
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)
November 20, 2015

Jaze! They should change the name from Arespark to Awespark!! Fits in the palm of your hand and fills the room. Very pleasant and balanced sound. I've tried lots of speakers and this is what I've been looking for.

Amazon Lightning Purchase price $28.99

Regular Amazon Sale: $37.99

Regular Amazon Price: $69.99

Prime price, List Price: $99.99

Despite the deep pile of positive reviews here (and due the generally poor quality sound of portable speakers) I probably would not have tried this even at the reasonable everyday $38 price. But I'm so glad I did. Would hesitate to pay the "full" $38 for another.

Pros:
* Volume: Plenty for a room and a half!
* Tone: Clear and balanced! Tone doesn't vary much due to volume.

The sound gets bassier (even boomy or tubby) when the speaker is placed flat on a surface, a corner, or against a wall. I like the sound best with the speaker elevated on a small stand-super clear. (The usual deal breaker for me is a tinny sound or the poofy, efforted bass that most of portable speakers exhibit.) Thankfully this bass is pleasant, and you can get more by positioning the speaker.
* Size: A proficient little peanut! It's about 2/3 the size of a wireless phone, and twice as thick.
* Bluetooth: Pairs effortlessly; has a long range. Two rooms in my home.

Neutural:
* SD micro card - haven't tried yet.
* Power saver: Turns itself off after a period of disuse. Wish the length was longer. I see pros and cons in this.

Battery life: rated at 12 hours; haven't tested yet.

Cons:
* Hard to read the buttons (yes, black on black is bad)
* Buttons behave differently on long-press. So features are not readily discovered by newcomers
* No line in, but with Bluetooth this good ...
* Manual is VERY weak.

A very good product - it works as advertised! I recommend it and here is why.....

I used this product a lot in the shower listening to music or podcasts from my Samsung S7 Edge via Bluetooth. It is easy to operate and the carabiner allows me to hang it on my shower caddy. It is very easy to connect the phone to the speaker via Bluetooth. I have not had any problems with the moisture from the shower and the seal/flap to protect the micro-USB charger and audio ports works well. The only minor issue I have is the sensitivity of the sound volume buttons, which also serve a dual purpose of forwarding to the next song or podcast. The speaker volume increases and decreases very quickly when you hold and press the buttons. If you do not press and hold the button long enough, that same button will forward to the next song or podcast. So sometimes you want to change the volume (which gets loud/soft quickly) and you accidentally switch to the next song/podcast. Not a show stopper by any means but it is something to keep in mind when operating this product. The sound quality and the sound volume is great for its size - much better than I expected. I highly recommend this for the bathroom or outside (e.g., hiking, doing yard work, party, etc).

ONE RUGGED LITTLE SPEAKER
by J.C. (5 out of 5 stars)
September 29, 2016

I have had this speaker for almost a year now, this thing RULES.

Today, I was digging an 6 foot deep trench with an excavator. I unclipped the speaker from the overhead of excavator and placed it on the side of the trench as I had to do some hand digging. My phone died a few minutes later so the speaker was no longer playing. When I got out of the ditch, I could not find it anywhere, I assumed it fell into the loose dirt in the trench. I thought to myself "oh well, there goes $30". After about 3-4 scoops of the bucket of the excavator, what lands in the dirt pile? This little guy. I took a break for a bit and rinsed it off in my kitchen sink and it went right back to chugging along. This was after I dug the thing up with an excavator!

I work in an industrial environment also and I take this thing to work with me all the time. It has been dropped and abused and it doesn't show a dent. Three of my co-workers have been so impressed they bought the same one.

This thing is TOUGH, it sounds GREAT and the battery lasts a LONG time. It has never run out of juice on me. It has so much bass, if you leave it on a hard surface for more than a few minutes, it will vibrate it's way down to the floor (use the clip). This is by far, the best bang-for-your-buck bluetooth speaker.
