Product Description

Back to nature... The "Bios Memorial Urn for Ashes" is the first biodegradable urn designed to transform your beloved into a living tree after life.

How to plant Bios Urn?
The Bios Urn is very simple to use. First, just place the ashes in the lower part, closing the urn with the upper capsule. After planting the 12.5 inch urn, mix the starter components found in the upper capsule, adding additional soil from the site where you are going to plant the urn. These components allow for proper seed germination. Finally, add the seed or seedling in the upper capsule.

What type of seeds can I use with Bios Urn?
You can use any seed or young plant. The Bios Urn comes with a pine tree see already inside, but you can replace with your loved one's favorite plant/tree. We recommend that you consult with an expert to find out what type of tree, flowering bush or plant would be best for your environment.

Can I use Bios Urn with old ashes?
Yes! Your Bios Urn may be used with ashes saved from another urn or from years past.

We have even had customers buy multiple urns to share with distant loved ones who couldn't attend the memorial.

WHY OUR CUSTOMER LOVE BIOS URN:

A good end-of-life choice.
by McMinn (5 out of 5 stars)

This is an extremely difficult review to write and to rate. It's taken me a long time to be able to do . . . My mother knew she was going to pass and she chose this. The only change she wanted made to what comes with this urn was the choice of the seeds. She wanted us to replace the seeds with those of a 'tall, slender tree' vs. the shorter pine tree seeds that are included. The plan was to make the tree the center of a Memorial Garden for her. She didn't want to go into a cemetery. She knew that with a Memorial Garden it is much easier to sit and reflect, to visit, if you will. The funeral home had no issues with using it - they were actually impressed with the quality and the price (the similar ones that they offered were quite a bit more expensive).

I would definitely recommend it to anyone considering this as an end of life option. This is one of the most difficult choices to make - whether you are making it for yourself or for a loved one.

Cheap cardboard no seeds to plant
by Patricia K (1 out of 5 stars)

Very expensive for a cardboard urn with a cup of dirt. A complete rip off for those grieving. It didn't even come with seeds to plant. It should sell for $10 not $100 - rip off

Nature IS the most natural solution!
by Ms. Smitty (5 out of 5 stars)

I guess it'll be a perfect final solution for my remains....someday.

I purchased Bio Urn for myself for my last request as a preferred alternative to burial plot!! My daughters Don't"want to toss my ashes" either, although I've requested cremation in my final directives.

THIS Bios solution is perfect for myself. I love nature, growing things & love the idea of my ashes doing something as wonderful as being, hopefully drawn up into a majestic growing tree.

What a colossal rip off! Go down to the garden store and buy a compostable pot for 5$ - same thing and you will save 140$! I feel this company is preying on the emotions of the bereaved

Sometimes I think back and wish I would have put my Dad in something more fancy. He was a very basic guy and didnt like bling. But he deserved to be in a nice handmade item. I miss you Dad!

What a wonderful parting gift to give those left behind
by cate (4 out of 5 stars)

My husband and I had decided when we first read about Bios urns that they were a remarkable way to spend eternity. The funeral business preys on people when they are at their most vulnerable. Neither of us wants our family to be responsible emotionally or financially for our burials. What a wonderful parting gift to give those left behind.

Great option for your loved ones
by Dave Lefkow (5 out of 5 stars)

This was a great way to honor my mom, who was an avid gardener. Technically ashes don't help plants grow because of the sodium, but the way they've set up this urn helps it retain moisture even with the salt.
