Safety and Piece of Mind Come at a Price.
by Beth S. (4 out of 5 stars)

This stuff works as described and really there are not many spray on applications that achieve the high level of flexible reflective capability offered here. I would rate this 5 stars on performance, 4 stars on durability, and 3 stars on price per unit because lets face it the stuff is expensive even for the enthusiast. It is hard to put a price on safety, so if that is your primary concern rest assured this stuff will add some extra visibility from strong direct light sources like car headlamps or a flashlight. It has essentially no impact in regular light circumstances, so from a fashion perspective a nonfactor. It needs to be reapplied regularly to optimize performance and that begins to get pricey at these per ounce prices, but it is like added insurance. To be clear this stuff does reflect direct light back toward its source, so headlamps from cars really make whatever you spray this on sparkle.

It's not invisible, but worth it
by Nina P. (4 out of 5 stars)

I bought this to try out on my wool coat and shoes for biking at night. This spray seemed like an idea solution because it's so flexible and can be applied to any sort of cloth.

I used it on my coat and shoes, and it's super reflective! You can see a bit of residue where the spray is strongest, but to me that seems like a good trade off for being a lot more visible at night.

Excellent Product With Appropriate Expectations
by Lee R. (5 out of 5 stars)

Let's face it, there are not many if any other options out there for this kind of product. Even so, I believe Albedo 100 achieves everything it promises. I applied the product following the directions on the can and gave each side of my vest two light coats.

Pros: Works as advertised. Easy to apply. Functionally transparent in regular light even on dark fabric unless you saturate an area.

Cons: Very hard to see coverage/spray. If I were the manufacturer, I would explore adding a disappearing pigment to the product, so for example, it sprays on purple and dries clear so you can see your coverage.

Advice: You can probably get more consistent coverage by stretching the fabric taunt first, then using a different overlapping motion between coats (for example, one horizontally applied coat, the other vertical)

I washed the vest first and ensured it was completely dry by hanging overnight. Then I simply hung the vest on a plastic hanger from a tree branch in the early morning when there was no wind, only the slightest hint of a breeze (I would estimate less than 1 mph). I chose the early morning for two reasons, the wind is less and the low angle of sunlight made it a little easier to see the spray particles during application. It should go without saying that you should be upwind of the spray so you don't breathe in the product and I mention it here only to remind folks to take safety precautions.

I shook the can for one minute and then really vigorously for about another 15-20 seconds. The rattling of the mixing ball in the can lets you know that mixing is occurring. I also took a few seconds during the process to swizzle the can with the ball at the bottom to be sure I stirred up the product better. You hear/feel the ball hitting the sides of the can almost immediately, but pay attention to the way it feels at first and throughout the process. You know it is well mixed when it feels easier to make the ball hit the opposite end of the can.

I then began applying the first coat in short bursts about 10 - 12 inches from the garment. I gave it two or three short bursts trying to estimate overlapping coverage, then shake the can again for a few seconds before continuing. I did the front and back this way, first, then after a minute or so to dry, did the front and back again. I used a slashing motion for the first coat and a back-slashing motion for the second. I cleaned the nozzle by spraying upside down as directed.

At first I was only going to do the orange areas, but seeing how transparent the product is, I included the black areas as well except for the HD medallion, which is already made of reflective material/embroidery. The brilliant strips you see in the photos are the 3M reflective fabric that are sewn into the garment and I avoided spraying them. When it was all done, I estimate I used about half to a little more than half of the product. If I had thought about it more, I would have weighed the can before and after to be precise on that, but I did not think of writing this review until after I saw the results in the attached pictures.

You will notice an apparent difference in the reflective brightness between the photos. I think this is a result of different view angles on the vest and ambient lighting when the pictures were taken--the brighter ones were taken in a darker area. The vest was not worn between the different photos, so there was no chance for the product to wear off between them.

Please note the product does NOT glow in the dark--it is only reflecting light back to its source, so you will not see it unless you are viewing in line with the light source. I expect that when I am heading home with the Sun setting behind me, the folks following me will see it more easily, but the folks passing me will not see it at all.

Overall, I am very happy with the results and will post an update once I have some wear time with it. As another reviewer noted, this is a somewhat pricey option even for the enthusiast since it washes out. Even so, I think it is an excellent product for things you do not launder often like outer wear.

This is a lot of fun, sure it serves to light up the cyclist ...

This is a lot of fun, sure it serves to light up the cyclist at night but it can be used in creative ways too. Mark a trail for people to find their way with flashlights with prize points along the way, Call it flashlight-cashing in the woods or neighborhood. Look for the arrows and X's. Flashlight/headlight art, mark your driveway for hopscotch, or some other game to be done by flashlight. Fun.

Great idea but...

Great idea but it just didn't work.

I wanted to use this to customize my sneakers and I know it's not meant for shoes but i wanted to give it a try.

Well it was advertised as invisible when sprayed on however,it leaves a metal grayish film at least on white from my experience.

It does reflect but it has to be in the right lighting and angle to get the full affect.

The spray is very wide and cover a lot of surface which is great for signs and building but for small details it is a pain.

Also because it has such a wide burst of spray it tends to get everywhere so dont think you can just spray and then go to work, school, church etc...

You will need gloves, long sleeves or just some type of covering and please where googles.

Now with all of this I could deal with these small issues but when the can just stop working,I had enough.

I had more than a half a can which I could feel the weight of the can but it just stop praying.

Maybe I had a bad can and I would like to try it again but I dont want to pay and this happens again.

Like I said great idea to have reflective paint in a can but it still needs work.

I'll attach some pics if I can

Stay safe!

Easy to spray. It is very difficult to see the spray in regular light, so take it easy. The spray does light up very well when it is hit with a headlight, flashlight or camera flash. It does wash off/sweat off over time, but I have been able to get a dozen uses of 2+ hour duration on my hat before I sweat it off. My hydration bladder has lasted 3 months so far after the application.

Great Product, Use as Indicated.
by jorgej (4 out of 5 stars)

It does what it says... Spray it and it's like an invisible layer of reflective crystals. Not completely transparent in day time so be careful of spraying dark or black colored clothing as it will be noticed in the day as well. It is not a bright at night as it looks in the pictures because the light needs to be shining straight into it, so don't think this glows in the dark and you'll be seen from a mile away because this is not what the product is meant for. Very good for runners or cyclists which have a non-reflective jacket or vest, just spray this on and go outside. Also be careful when spraying, this is similar to a paint, thus wait for it to dry before touching it or putting the sprayed jacket back into the closet because you'll be smearing the product into your hands and other pieces of clothing. And if possible avoid spraying inside.

Exactly as described

While I did not take the time to locate a moose and spray its antlers as shown on the front of the bottle, the tested I did so that it can be seen fairly far away on clothes and skin and hair. I'm not using for safety reasons so I cannot vouch first efficacy is to not getting hit by car in middle of the night, but I think would look really cool at a party.

What a crazy Glow!
by Darrell D. Neet (5 out of 5 stars)

It was so much fun. We sprayed it on ourselves and went to a concert. It was invisible until someone took a flas picture and in the picture we all glowed. I don't think it worked too well just reflecting normal headlights though.

Works well, just make sure you put newspaper under anything you're spraying. It makes anything glow...even your floor!
