Our charging dock, with two USB ports, lets you power your phone up to six times so you never have to crowd around an airport outlet again. A built-in SIM card lets you know where your bag is via GPS / 3G, anywhere in the world, for free. The scale is conveniently built into the handle so you find the weight of your belongings simply by picking it up. You can also remotely lock the bag or set it to auto-lock in case you get separated from it.

Airport security nightmare
by Erin A. Egan (1 out of 5 stars)
July 12, 2016

This bag was nearly confiscated 3 times traveling overseas and I have been pulled out after security screening almost every time even in the States. Traveling between China and Korea, as well as within China I was asked to show the battery. Since I was unable to remove the battery for them to see I ended up being questioned by security officers three times. Each time the said they were going to keep the bag but ultimately when they were able to get a more senior officer who spoke English I was able to keep the bag. Security took me more than 30 minutes and I missed one flight. Even in the States I had to step out while the bag was checked for explosive residue after the X-ray screening. I will never carry the bag again.

Great for work travel - nice professional look with some cool extra features
by Brutedaddy (5 out of 5 stars)
January 30, 2016

I ordered the Bluesmart after seeing it in the Houston airport. It definitely stands out and caught my eye, but not in a bad way (e.g. LV suitcase, super plasticly ballistic stuff, or full aluminum). It is on the smaller side, but I like that because I usually travel with a carry-on and a backpack (Timbuk2 Swig). With this setup I can travel on pretty much any long weekend trip - you just have to pack *smart* ;)

Here's what I like:
* Professional look. Not too flashy, not too boring. I feel fine taking this to work, vacation, travel around the city - no problem.
* Tough build. This case can certainly take a beating. Outside zippers are nice and secure too.
* Inside section dividers and zippers. This is a really cool feature! I can make sure my stuff is packed nice and tight and won't bounce around too much. This also comes in handy when I need to separate dirty clothing/shoes from my clean stuff.
* Laptop sleeve and protector. Perfect fit for my Macbook Air.
* Cool blue wheels, nice visual pop.
* Charging. Really helpful on longer trips with stops that aren't just airport/hotel/airport. Good for charging at friend's house too.
* Cloth and materials. The outer fabric, inside pockets, and inside lining is better than expected. I'm used to my Tum's synthetic, nylon feel. Nice little added benefit.

What I don't like:
* I would love a full-sized version for multi-week or month long trips. This definitely gets the job done for long weekends, but it's going to be a stretch after that.
* Fabric and wheels pick up general dust/dirt - or in my case, cat hair. I make sure to clean off the wheels every now and then, stupid cat ;)
* Haven't used the GPS yet or remote-locking. I just don't lock it or use the included keys to unlock. Also, I usually know where my carry-on is, so GPS hasn't been needed, but I like that the option is there in case it goes missing. Let's hope I don't have to.

Overall, I like the suitcase and feel it's a nice upgrade from my Tumi Tech.

One of the best carry on suit cases on the market
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)

One of the best carry on suit cases on the market. I travel every 10 days to Europe and back to the U.S. and was looking for a carry on that functions as mobile office infrastructure while waiting for a connecting flight at an airport. I love the 2 USB chargers that allow me to charge my phone and iPad at the same time.

The design looks great and it's perfect size as carry on on all airlines worldwide. Some European low cost airlines are very restrictive with their hand luggage policies, but I was never running into any problems with my bluesmart.

Also the tracking option is very helpful. Two weeks ago I traveled to Rome and checked in my bluesmart suitcase. When I arrived at Fiumicino airport my bluesmart was not on the luggage belt. After 30min. I used the track function and noticed that it was still on the other side of the airport close to the gate where our airplane was parked. I went to the Alitalia lost luggage counter and showed them the bluesmart app and location where they lost my luggage. They sent someone and within 20min. my bluesmart and I were reunited.

I would like to refer to the review of Adam Lake. He is posting photos where he is trying to put big boots into the bluesmart suitcase to show that it is too small. Please allow me the following comment: The bluesmart suitcase is not made for adventure backpacking travel. It's made for business travel and people who want to be independent from airport or train chargers. I always pack one pair of running or dress shoes, 5-7 Italian shirts, underwear, socks, 1 pair of extra pants, and toiletries and my work out cloths (shorts and t-shirt) in my bluesmart and it fits perfectly - see photos below.

However if I wanted to go backpacking in Latin America, I would not travel with my bluesmart. I would leave my Italian dress shirts and elegant shoes at home and get hiking boots and a backpack.

The mission of the bluesmart suitcase is business travel. You don't need all these gadgets on a a hiking trip.

I am very happy that bluesmart seems to be the first company in the luggage space that is innovating and shaking the industry. Hope many others will follow. But VERY GOOD JOB BLUESMART team!!!!!

1) Its a big problem travel at Asia region, some of the countries required check with the re-charge lithium battery pack for safety security check as carry on luggage. Also they required the battery pack should show with brand name, capacity etc. (the checked luggage complusory not allow store the lithium battery pack). Tfore I needed modify the battery pack with the connector and unplug the battery pack if required.
2) the laptop compartment is too toght although I put the 14" device.

Game Changing Product for a Myriad of Travel Needs
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)
January 25, 2016

As a frequent traveler who was in need of a luggage upgrade, I couldn't be happier with my new Bluesmart carry on. It meets or exceeds all of the requirements of a standard carry on, and adds some truly revolutionary features. I've recently used the Bluesmart to fly to a wedding, train home for the holidays, and fly to a ski mountain, and I'm confident I will never use any bag or suitcase other than the Bluesmart for any other such trips ever again!

I first used the Bluesmart while flying from New York to the Midwest for a wedding. I was able to pack all me wedding attire - including dress shoes and a suit - very comfortably; no wrinkles! The Bluesmart fit easily into the overhead compartment and was very durable - no dings or scratches even after being banged around a fair bit. The Bluesmart really came in handy, though, on the trip home. After neglecting to charge my phone after getting back to the hotel late after the wedding reception, I had barely any charge left by the time I got through security at the airport. Instead of fighting for a (very scarce) outlet at the gate, I plugged my phone straight into the Bluesmart and recapped the previous night via text with my friends as my phone charged and I waited for my flight. I ended up having enough battery to get me through the flight and for the cab ride back to my apartment.

For my next trip with the Bluesmart, I brought it on the train with me for the trip home to Boston from New York for Christmas. I was able to pack some Christmas gifts as well as a long weekend's worth of winter clothes with no issues. This time, the Bluesmart feature that was extra helpful was the easy access opening to the front pocket. I had slipped my 15 inch laptop into the front pocket with the expectation that I wouldn't have to do any work on the train but that I'd need it over the weekend at my parents' house. However, half way through the train ride I received an e-mail via phone that I had something that needed to be completed that night. Having to dig my laptop out of a traditional carry on would've been a nightmare; considering it was peak holiday travel time, the overhead storage space on the train was packed to the brim, and it would've been nearly impossible to open up a traditional carry on and dig out a computer. However, I simply unlocked the top compartment and slipped my laptop right out (see photo) without having to move the Bluesmart or any other traveler's suitcase. The easy access front compartment is a unique feature that, as I can already attest to, will certainly come in handy for future business travel.

Finally, my most recent trip with the Bluesmart was a ski trip from New York to Jackson Hole. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to fit all my bulky ski clothing in the Bluesmart for the long weekend trip, but I was pleasantly surprised. I had more than enough room for multiple sweatshirts, sweatpants, beanies, and other associated snow gear (see photo). A cool feature that I haven't seen on other carry ons that proved valuable was the zippered divider between the main compartment of the suitcase and the outer shell. I ended up packing a couple of swimsuits in this outer compartment (see photo) with the idea that they might still be a bit damp from the hot tub by the time I needed to pack for the return journey, and I didn't want them to soak the rest of my gear. The divider successfully kept my clothes in the main compartment dry, and it made for a more pleasant unpacking and less laundry when I got home to New York.

Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with the Bluesmart. It has surpassed my initial expectations and has significantly reduced the stress of travel. I highly recommend this product - 5 stars!

I had great hopes for this bag
by john h (2 out of 5 stars)

I had great hopes for this bag, I found it to roll well, was easy to use overall but did not, DID NOT PROTECT my laptop. My Laptop screen was shattered while in the area designed for laptops and some of the louvers on the back of laptop were broken off while inserting the laptop into the laptop area of the carry-on. another anomaly is that sometimes the smart luggage goes to sleep. You need to push a button on the case to wake it up so that it can be locked or be found/located. what kind of logic is there to have a locator which can't be used unless it is in arms reach so you can wake it up first? Come on, I am doing my best not to curse, but really I spent more than I should have on this and also suffered a severely damaged computer costing me close to 400.00 dollars to repair due to my own failed logic for trusting this bag to protect it.

Snake Oil company

The App has never worked. The battery percentage is always wrong and you can't use the aux to charge anything out of fear your battery will die and you can't open your luggage. The lock unlock is flaky and the latest app revision literally broke every feature. This product is a beta and anyone who bought it was a test monkey so they can no rip off the next set of people willing to drop $400 on a product that does not deliver as promised. Oh and if you bought from Amazon, the company offers no warranty.

AIRLINES STARTING TO PROHIBIT SMART BAGS!!
by Allan M (1 out of 5 stars)
December 15, 2017

I was excited to use this bag but found out that my airline of choice, Southwest Airlines, will no longer permit any Smart Bag onboard their aircraft either as a checked or carry on bag because the lithium battery cannot be removed. Only Smart Bags with removable batteries will be permitted effective January 15, 2018. Glad I am still within my return window.

Auto lock feature is just as bad as distance alert
by fortune Cuffy (1 out of 5 stars)
November 13, 2017

Total BS.. This is borderline fraud if not false advertising more than anything. Distance alert does not work. blue tooth keeps disconnecting every time you close the app. spoke to customer service, Being told that 1.distance alert works when the Bluetooth disconnected which is total nonsense cause that's not true.left luggage in my home and went all the way to the yard, got no alert but yet the app is asking that i awake the luggage by pressing the button at the back of the luggage. which makes no sense since am no where close to it. you cant set any feature regarding how far you want the luggage away from you before distance alert (which again does not work) kicks in. 2. Auto lock feature is just as bad as distance alert. unlocked the luggage before heading to the yard where Bluetooth disconnected, left my cell in the yard and went back to the luggage and found luggage still unlocked. No auto lock dere.. The only thing this is good for is that it looks good. My advice don't bank on any of these features working to your benefit. protect your luggage the old fashion way. might was well just get a cheap carry on luggage and a power bank to charge your devices...

Total waste of the money could have used elsewhere.

As a carry on this suitcase isn't terrible but it's close
by MPJ (1 out of 5 stars)
August 12, 2017

As a carry on this suitcase isn't terrible but it's close. I thought I would like the laptop sleeve but I still have to carry my backpack to hold all my other stuff so the laptop sleeve is useless to me. They would be better removing the laptop sleeve and replacing with a "garage door style" top so that you can really load stuff into this thing. When I buy a carry on I'm looking for maximum room and this suitcase DOES NOT have that. For the size of it it holds SURPRISINGLY little. The materials and design are nice I can't deny that. The fabrics and materials are high quality, I can't deny that. The wheels roll exceptionally well I can't deny that. The handle is sturdy and doesn't feel cheap or chintzy. Charging ports are decent but the locations aren't that great. The bluetooth lock isn't smooth and seemless. There were several times that I needed to unlock it and had to get the key out because it wouldn't connect to my phone to unlock. Speaking of needing to unlock it. . . (This is what should make you turn and run from any Bluesmart products for the time being.)

EVERY SINGLE time I go thorugh airport security I get stopped and questioned about my bag. I took "TSA Approved" to mean that this bag is on some list or they are aware of it and know it therefore I won't get stopped. This bag is branded as INTERNATIONAL which led me to believe that it was already tested internationally. In a matter of a month of travel I went to China and Korea. EVERY TIME I went through security they stopped me. In Beijing as I was trying to leave they actually pulled me into a questioning room and were planing on dismantling the suitcase to verify I wasn't carrying a bomb. It was humiliating and embarrassing. If I could return this suitcase for a full refund I would. If this suitcase had any redeeming quality I wouldn't want it returned. If it was large enough to pack what i needed, if it was truly convenient with all the gadgetry or if any of the additional stuff was helpful then I would want to keep it. In the end it's just a fancy overtricked out gadget that doesn't work that well. The GPS tracking didn't work at the airport. I had ot check it in Chicago and pick up in Norfolk. When I tried to track it there was a note telling me to press the button on the back to "wake up" the suitcase. If I can press the button on the back then I don't need to know where it is do I?

Ok I'm done. If you have $285 to throw away, flush down the toilet, or burn in a bonfire then you should seriously consider buying this suitcase instead. If however you work hard for you money I recommend you buy 4 other carry ons and a portable charger and just call it a day.
