This lock works... once ever few times

I took a chance on this lock shortly after it came out simply because I could not find another biometric lock with good reviews and I figured I had nothing to lose. I called up the manufacturer before placing an order to ask how long the battery lasts in this lock. The agent who answered the phone was friendly, but not the least helpful. He was not aware that this product even exists, which he attributed to it being too new. He did reach out to the engineers with my question and the official answer was that nobody really knows how long it would last as they have not yet had a chance to test it. This company can as well not have customer service at all. The person answering the phone was great, but it appears that he received zero training on a product that the company is actively selling. I needed a lock, so went ahead with the order anyways.

The lock itself feels very solidly built and looks great. It does require an extra hole to be drilled in the door for installation which was not apparent to me when I ordered it.

However, these are just minor inconveniences. The real problem is that the fingerprint sensor just does not work all that great. It was not able to sense my wife's finger at all when I was programming it no matter what she did. I was able to add a different finger for her, meaning she cannot use her index finger to open this lock and I added mine as well.

When it comes to daily use, I find this lock very finicky. It works once every few times. The sensor is pretty large, but your finger has to be positioned very precisely for it to recognize your fingerprint. You also have to press down firmly. It's not so bad that I was ever locked out, but it is very annoying to have to position your finger on the sensor several times every time I need to enter the house. This lock was supposed to provide a convenient was of unlocking the door. In its current state, it is anything but convenient. I will be looking at other options.

We installed these in our office and they work great. It is relatively easy to add and remove users. It's a little pricey but you are getting a quality product with a professional looking finish.
