Great value for the price

For two bucks a piece (with prime!), these things are great. I've only tried one so far, so I can't comment on quality. The only con for these is the calibration. There is a pot on the back that you can use to adjust calibration. But for instance if you calibrate it for 5v, it will be off at 12v and vice versa. So if you are using it to measure a wide range of voltages, the accuracy is not very good. These are better used to monitor a specific voltage for variations. Also, I don't know how good the calibration is over temperature. but again... two bucks each....

Pros:
- low cost
- fairly low current. at 13 volts, it draws between 10 & 20 ma.
- good brightness

Cons:
- calibration screw is only for a limited range.

Great for checking RC toy packs
by Chris (5 out of 5 stars)
December 3, 2017

I added a JST-PH connector to one and use it for checking state-of-charge on the 1S battery packs for tiny RC toys.

I then left it in a shirt pocket and next discovered it upon opening the door of the washing machine. Needless to say not recommended, but still seems to work.

Does require a one-time adjustment of the calibration potentiometer while watching the same source with a more trusted meter (and probably not a bad idea after removing from the clothes washing machine, too ;-)

Good option for a cheap read out.
by eTech (4 out of 5 stars)

I just tested one with a calibrated meter for reference. It needed some tweaking to tighten up the reading. I could get it dead on at low voltages but midscale was not as tight, however I am going to use a professional meter for important measurements, these will go on my lab supply (has a broken meter). Build quality is a little shaky. I found that one I just tested has the display unevenly mounted to the circuit board. I hope the others are not like that. I bought the red displays and they are decently bright at 4.5V and the onboard voltage regulator keeps it consistent brightness, however I recommend avoiding higher voltages to avoid killing the regulator.

Amazing how well these have worked. Love them.

The modules are very useful. It is nice to have the ability to measure and display the voltage of circuits so easily. I have made a few battery powered gadgets and with the push of a button I can see how well the system is powered. I have made some battery banks and wired this display into the circuit. With a momentary button I can easily see if it is time to change or recharge the batteries. The small size is amazing, I didn't expect them to fit as well into my designs as they have. I was very happy with these and purchased them in a few different colors.

Small meter, big view
by Michael (5 out of 5 stars)

These little meters are perfect for the small projects I always come up with requiring low voltage monitoring. The read out is surprising bright and clear and the option to have a separate lead to turn on the display when needed rather then being on all the time is very handy. The picture shown is supposed to be vertical and shows to AC power meters monitoring phase A and phase B of the 50 amp input to the RV and the DC meter this review is about below them is monitoring the DC voltage out of the convertor when plugged in or the battery voltage when not plugged in. The only minor problem I have with them is the mounting holes are very small and close to the circuit board making mounting the board a careful consideration so as not to short out anything. The price is right!

Can be calibrated, easy to read
by Discriminating Buyer (4 out of 5 stars)

I bought these to use to monitor the battery status of three mini solar systems. One system uses 10w panels connected to a 34AH battery bank, one system uses a 150w solar panel connected to a 70AH battery bank, and the last has two 250w panels connected to a 100AH battery bank. The readings on these gave close readings to my multimeter, but even if it didn't you can calibrate the reading by turning the screw on the underside. The only problem for me is that the wires are very short and I accidentally shorted out one since the back circuitry is exposed when it touched one of the poles of the battery. They are very small but bright. I can easily see them from about 8 feet away.

They're accurate and barely gets warm.

Using this to display voltage in a 7s 18650 pack. Set voltage from 12v battery that multimeter said was 13.44v, adjusted meter to 13.4v, plugged it in to 7s pack and read 29.7v which DMM said was accurate. I was a little worried that these meters have a limit of 30v, and the pack I have is 29.7 fully charged, but they work just fine. I will amend this review if things change. But you can't beat the price and prime shipping for 5 of these. I won't lose sleep over a $2/piece meter.

Terric little voltmeters
by QuantumMechanix (5 out of 5 stars)
May 23, 2017

These are great voltmeters. When shipped they are dead-on accurate and there is even an adjusting port if you need to calibrate it - the ones I don't need any tweaking. The three wire version is better than the two wire ones as you can provide a separate power source to measure low voltages - or tie white+red together if you only care for voltages above 2.5v ( not sure about the actual low limit )

For the price this is a terrific deal.

Nice small meter with a bright display! Being three wire is a nice feature.

Just received my 5 pack and so far they look and work great. Haven't had a chance yet to verify readings but from what others have said I have a feeling they will be right on. I'm going to use them in my van to monitor solar incoming voltage, Voltage at Battery bank and Starting battery voltage.

Just need to find a really small switch to activate them so there not on all the time.

Another use for them is the small single cell Lipo's that many of today's RC planes use, just wire one up with a nine volt and add a connector for the batteries. .

Good buy.

Love these things. I have one wired up on the backhoe, (12vdc system), one on the dozer (24vdc system), one on the diesel tractor (12vdc system) and one monitors the solar panel output (about 20 vdc) and powered off the 12 volt battery bank.

Looks like I may need to buy some more.

Adjustable pot on the back to cal the readout.
