My First Statue and I Couldn't Be Happier!

Kotobukiya's Bishoujo Line has reimagined many heros and villans from DC Comics. I fell in love with the craftsmanship, style, and size of these statues (All are made in the 1/7 scale so roughly 7.5-9 inches) designed by the talented Shunya Yamashita, who is known for his beautiful female designs. The term "Bishoujo" roughly translates to "Pretty Girl" and I must say "pretty" is an understatement when describing my Raven statue.

Teen Titans is my all-time favorite DC comic and animated show. I fell in love with the plot and characters so when I found out that there was a Bishoujo statue of Starfire I had immediately went online to buy myself one. I own a fairly large collection of Pop! figures and 4 Cryptozoic DC Bombshell 7in figures. I never owned any statues because the nicest ones usually cost upwards of 100 dollars,an amount a broke college student like me could never afford. You can imagine my disappointment when I saw that the Starfire figure (who is my favorite character in the comics and show) was $169.99 without tax or shipping.

I had all but given up hope that I could own a statue until I saw that there was a Raven statue. I clicked on the product imagine and absolutely fell in love with her design. Her cloak looks majestic as it sways behind her with her legs and arms stretched out, giving her the illusion of levitation. I also loved the fact that she was dressed in her classic outfit instead of her terrible New 52 one. The whole look of the statue, particularly her pose, made me desperate to have her. Luckily, at the time of my purchase she was on sale for $55.97 instead of her usual $89.99. I bought her a week later once I had the money and finally received this gem in the mail today.

Don't let pictures or video reviews fool you about her size. She stands at a large 9.5in and comes in a large window display box that has her concept art and background information plastered on each corner. The statue is clearly seen on the front window and wrapped around a plastic covering for protection. Once taken out the box you can see all her details perfectly! There was absolutely no painting errors on her and there is so assembly required. The bottom of her cloak is weighted to be used as her base. Just be careful about where you put her. Her cloak keeps her standing but she's a little wobbly and will fall over if she's moved roughly.

My statue wasn't shipped very carefully. The only thing protecting my display box was a small sheet of bubble wrap next to the display box. For the most part my item is fine although there is a dent on the front left corner of my box. Even though I am an in box collector I'm not too annoyed about this, but I know some people will be.

This statue is absolutely wonder and I couldn't be happier to have this as my first statue. Unfortunately the price is back up to 89.99 but be sure to be on the lookout for any sales because this is a must have for any Teen Titan and Raven fan!

Kotobukiya does it again. Amazing statue! The craftsmanship is outstanding, as is the flawless paint application. The colors are beautiful, the pose is brilliant and the attention to detail is,as always with Kotobukiya,spot on. If you are thinking of getting this don't hesitate. It's worth every penny and then some.

AMAZING. BEAUTIFUL. WONDERFUL.

Raven looks exquisite! I'm extremely glad this statue was created, I needed a Raven to display. I received this as a gift and I'm still happy.

I really like her design (clothes, pose, colors, cape, smirk, etc.); one of the best Bishoujo figures in my opinion :D

I'm a 16 year old comic fan whose only source of income is a once a week babysitting gig: and this statue is worth it. Raven is one of my favorite characters, and my first real statue, it took a chunk out of my bank account but i'm so glad I bought this. So if you're wondering if this is worth your money: it is.

Really love her mysterious expression where the muffler slightly hide her face either way you took the picture at a low/ high angle.

So worth it than buying it from a hobby store for 3 times the price tag. :D

This is my 5th statue of DC women. As expected the detail and paint is superb. Absolutely gorgeous piece of art and worth every penny. If you want to start a nice collection these are the best.
