Does what it's supposed to do...a few shortcomings.
by B. Murphy (3 out of 5 stars)
October 31, 2015

For being the only product on the market (that I was able to find) that holds a USB monitor vertically over your laptop, I was really hoping for this product. I was super thrilled to have found this. The fact that it was all plastic and had to perform this task was already a concern for me but I purchased it anyway. It does what it's supposed to do but I have some issues with it.
1) The manufacturer provides you a couple strips of velcro and expect that you will apply one side to the back of your USB monitor and the other side to their stand - this will help to avoid the USB monitor from falling forward and off of the stand if it gets bumped. I will not be applying the velcro and thought this was a pretty cheesy implementation. I'll figure out another way to secure the monitor without sticking anything to my equipment.
2) The surface on which you rest your laptop is shiny and slippery. To me, it would be a no brainer to have some kind of rubberized grip strips on this platform. My laptop slides around ridiculously, not to mention it's not wide enough to accommodate a laptop's bottom completely. I will have to buy and apply these rubber friction strips.

So already I'll be spending money on things this product should already deliver. A very awesome idea but poorly implemented. I GLADLY would have paid MORE to have the stability and strength of a lightweight metal paired up with securing clips or similar locking device that keeps the USB monitor secure. Additionally, the laptop platform would have adequate coverage for the laptop and be made of a non-slip material.
---------UPDATE--------

I had to come back into this review and reword some things. A couple days ago, an envelope came to me directly from

VEYEM. Inside of it was a package of rubber adhesive pads for me to put onto my stand where I place my laptop. No letter or anything else. They obviously care enough about their product to read the reviews we are writing and acted upon mine. I thought the gesture was professional and generous. I still reserve my initial thoughts, thinking the stand would be best with these build into the laptop platform but again, I appreciated the thought. The rubber pads worked really well. Thanks Veyem, very kind.

The only one of it's kind! Love it despite shortcomings.

Whenever I want to buy a new product for my business, I spend way too much time researching reviews to make sure I have the best item. For VEYEM, this is literally the only product of it's kind that I could find and the concept is amazing in so many ways. What I like about VEYEM is that I literally see that they have straight-away implemented fixes to some of the comments on this page. The area where I leave my laptop now has the rubberized pieces to hold my laptop in place, which another user stated VEYEM sent to them. That is a huge plus for this company and I will support them.

I started using it last night and it reduces strain in my neck from side monitor setups and the fact that I can program in a more upright fashion with my main screen being higher. Made coding a lot more comfortable when you have to stare at a screen for multiple hours a day.

Sadly, there are a few shortcomings mentioned here. None which would stop me from rebuying the item in the future. Someone else mentioned that there should be some sort of rubber spacer on the bottom of the unit not to have it slide around on the desk. I agree. If they just had the same spacers in the laptop area on the bottom as well, that would be a great safety feature.

And someone had mentioned velcro for the top monitor channel. I actually didn't have any velcro in my box so I can't really comment on it. But if the channel had some sort of rubberized portion to the bottom, I think that would work just as well.

Overall, the item seems completely made of plastic, I like it because it is light, but I am a bit concerned about the longevity of the screw portion keeping strong when you travel a lot. For the time being it seems fine. The item is a bit bulky and does not fit in my laptop backpack, so I am currently carrying it in the original box. If there were a handle for that box, that would be awesome because it would double as a case.

No matter what, I really like this item for what it does and I have no issues recommending it.

Sadly it is the only kind in the market

I have been anticipating the delivery of this stand to complete my workstation at home. Well, upon opening the box, I was disappointed. It came with one piece of paper with instruction on how to lock it in place. It doesn't come with a velcro or any strap nor screws to fasten the monitor in placed. What I did instead was to use my monitor's cable to wrap around the gaps and secure it so it won't tumble down and crash my laptop and monitor at the same time. The rubber stopper that comes with it is for securing the laptop--no extra rubber to secure its bottom from sliding. I asked the seller for rubber stoppers and they promised to send it but I still haven't gotten it so we'll see.

Overall, this would have been perfect if it has extra stuff with it: rubber stopper to avoid bottom sliding, velcro or screws or fastener to securely hold the monitor in placed. Well, just improvise. This is so pricey because apparently this is the only one of its kind in the market--so might as well get it equipped, whoever manufactures/distribute this.

Kill the wobbles, get some rubber grips or spacers.
by R. Yoo (3 out of 5 stars)

Plan on purchasing some sort of rubber feet or spacers for this. The base of the stand is just smooth plastic and is basically sandwiched between your table and laptop (see the second product photo). The problem is there is nothing to grip the surface of the table or the stand, so everything slides. The base is slightly narrow as well, so you may need to support the laptop sides from below as well so it doesn't tip or wobble while typing.

My solution was to purchase some 1" dia feet and attach them to the bottom corners of my laptop. It elevates the laptop just enough so that it is not actually resting on the stand base, so no more wobbles while typing. This may not be a good solution for people who take their laptops with them, but for a more permanent home or office setup it works.

This was a great find.

I really like this. I am at my work computer for long hours and this does help to relieve from the twisting of the neck from side to side and the looking down all the time. I have my personal PC on my desk as well and with this tower I am able to free up space. Looked a little flimsy when I first took it out of box, plastic, but I was surprised. I have been using it for over a month and find it sturdy. I have a glass top desk and expected it to slide around a lot but it does not. All in All I don't have any complaints (as of yet).

Perfect for travel and working in small spaces with a 2nd monitor
by ATLleigh (5 out of 5 stars)

I use this with my AOC e1659Fwux- Pro 16-Inch Portable LED Monitor. It makes working with 2 screens a breeze if you don't have a lot of table space to spare.

Pros: Surprisingly sturdy for a plastic stand, lightweight, portable, eases tension on your neck.

Cons: Would be nice if it had an adjustable top clamp to support the monitor more securely, but not really a big deal. Bottom of the stand is slippery with no rubber pads on it, so it can slide around and scratch your table if you jostle it too much.

Overall, I'm satisfied with this product and the price point and would recommend it to others.

Nice for demonstration or traveling.

I absolutely adore this product/. One drawback is I wish the top screen setting had more setting to angle the monitor and was a little more heavy duty. But I travel for work, carry an extra monitor as I work routinely with two.

One of the best purchases I have ever made for travel
by izeonme (5 out of 5 stars)

One of the best purchases I have ever made for travel. I keep it in my laptop bag with my portable monitor. This product keeps me much more productive while on the road. I used to have to stand my portable monitor next to my laptop, but some meetings and conferences don't provide much elbow room. This solves that problem.

Useful

I was a bit dubious but it works as advertised using a laptop and a USB monitor. When not in use it folds up but because it is sturdy it is not small folded. You could put other things on the top. Seems the right height for a copy stand for example.

This stand is good but not adjustable up and down
by LABlackburn (3 out of 5 stars)
June 29, 2016

This stand is good but not adjustable up and down. It is slightly too tall for me (I'm a 5'5" woman) so that I'm cranking my head a little too far back to be comfortable. There is no way to tilt it to make it better. It is light enough to be portable though.
