I was going to use this in setting up an office for a client, but, after drilling into the desk and making a hole big enough to fit this product, I plugged it in and it didn't work, so I then tried it with another outlet, and same problem. This item is too big, and a piece of garbage. Try a cheaper alternative like a power strip, that won't get you fired for damaging a desk with no way to fill the hole... the seller reached out and when I told the seller the problem, he said he is sorry to hear, and that was the last I heard from him... so know that customer service is terrible too, folks, if you have your heart set on something like this item, find a different one sold by someone else.
I will be updating if the seller ever contacts me back, but I'm not holding my breath...
It can be used in your floor as well!!!

I was looking for an inexpensive way to add an outlet through the floor so that I could plug in my laptop while sitting on our couch. The floor receptacles, meant for floor outlets, cost upwards of $50-$100. I saw this one it was fairly inexpensive. I figured I would just stick it in the floor vs. the conventional countertop use. It works fine and I'm very impressed with the low profile when it is collapsed. Just make sure you are clear of any obstacles like wires joists or air ducts if you install it in your floor!!!
Very useful item

Arrived within 24hours (amazing), easy to install. Just a couple of points:
1. The top section that has to be pulled in order to lift the item above the countertop is plastic, we're hoping that this stands up to continued use over time.
2. The logo of the company is emblazoned on the item in white but it was picked up by my daughter that the name KungFuKing has what could be mistaken for a swear word on it - as ours was going into a rental property, we have had to cover this up.
Great Addition to Kitchen Counter

Great! Easy to install. These are not pop ups, you have to pull them up and push them down. The big question is the size of the hole that has to be drilled thru the granite: my was 3.25 inches. Provides three electrical plugs and two USB plugs. Provides clean lines for the counter when not in use.
Installed with ease, plugged into GFI in kitchen for safety, it is the sleek look I was seeking

so far so good, installed in kitchen, plugged into GFI's for safety. My contractor is pessimistic about their longevity and expects they will break, they are mostly plastic, they are not pop up - they are pull up. They are the look I was after, time will tell if they hold up to daily use, daily up and down.
Pretty useful solution for getting outlets onto a desk

I bought these a while back, but only installed them recently. I'm using two of them in a solid wood topped-desk. I used a 3 1/4" hole saw bit to put holes into the wood top, although it appears that a 3 3/16" bit would have worked (had I had one -- far more rare than a 3 1/4"). The item appears to be 3 silver disks, with the middle one being a bit over an inch wide, the second (medium) one around that being about three inches wide, and the outside (largest) one being about four inches wide. To open the power receptacle, one pushes the middle (medium sized) disk down, which is spring-loaded, allowing it do depress about one inch. That in turn exposes the center (small) disk, which is a handle used to pull the receptacle up and out of the desk (or the countertop, or whatever it's mounted on). As it pulls up, the USB ports are exposed first, and then the three 3-pronged power outlets. (All of the outlets, including the USB, are powered by a single 3-pronged cord that comes out of the bottom of the receptacle, i.e. hidden under the desk or countertop.)
So, why not 5 stars for such a clever solution? One word: Plastic. The silver bits are all plastic, and the black bits are all plastic. Not horribly chintzy plastic, but still plastic. When you're paying thousands of dollars for a countertop, or a desk for that matter, cutting a hole in it to stick in a plastic doohickey just seems wrong. The product just doesn't reek of quality. It's not horrible, but it's not something that inspires confidence either.
Note: My product came from the seller "LeopardKing".
Just OK

All plastic and no directions, not even a dimension for hole size!
Also these are not pop up like they look. You have to reach down and pull it up. Not a smart idea for a kitchen when you have wet or greasy hands.
Great!

This is a convenient way of adding outlets without wires everywhere. It's bigger / bulkier than I pictured ( size compared to most outlet plugs but it's going to be submerged if you will so no big problem) Also people said it was cheap plastic- it cost like 25 dollars and again it's going to be pulled up - used and pushed back down . I'm happy - never enough plugs around and I married an electrition

I put these in whenever I do a kitchen island in a flip. These are perfect. Everyone always comments how nice it is to have power in the middle of the island.
Unexpectedly good quality for the price

We were skeptical of this product since we have gotten burned by several chinese products here at amazon. But this item has really impressed us. Install is a bit of a pain and the instructions are a joke but once installed it has a good solid feel to it. It doesn't move around has a solid feel when pulling up, and it stays up once it is pulled. ( I do have to say that it is a bit hard to pull up) The cord is relatively long, the usb charges have a solid feel to them and so far have worked well. Also, you can choose to pull this up part way to just expose what you need.
