My favorite new cooker!

I have a lot of outdoor cookers, from smokers, grills, fryers, stoves and what not. But this new FireDisc cooker is by far my favorite right now. It's only three total pieces and fits together without any tools. The legs are two pieces and then the disc itself. It's so compact that it fits in the trunk of my RV when we go camping. Last weekend I took it out and we make chicken fajitas. Here's the recipe I used if you're interested. They are simply delicious!

Chicken Fajitas
============
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 cup white tequila
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon liquid smoke.

Juice of one lime
3 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into strips

Bell peppers

Squash/zucchini (optional)

Whisk all ingredients for the marinade together and place marinade and chicken strips in a large ziploc baggy. Let marinate 4 hours, up to overnight. The batch we did marinaded about a day and a half. Heat FireDisc with oil, saute onions, peppers and any other veggies until tender. Remove and repeat with marinated chicken strips. Stir all back together in FireDisc when chicken is done and serve directly from the disc.

Pros

This sucker is heavy and well built

Easy to transport in an RV for camping

It's impressive, when people see it they always say "Wow"

Cooking on it is a pleasure, lots of room with different temperature zones

Good customer service

Cons

Arrived poorly packaged. The box was falling open and it was a miracle nothing fell out

Wind is this cookers enemy. A wind guard should be included.

Expensive (but worth it)

My disc had the powder coating scratched from the poor packaging. The company sent out a powder touch up pen free of charge. I hear they are improving the packaging over what they have now. I would not let this stop you from ordering it, the company believes in their products and will make it right if something arrives damaged.

Pretty Sweet....

Entirely new cooking concept for me. I needed to replace an old portable camping grill and have something that I could use at our small townhouse. I didn't want another gas grill. I found this on the interwebs, and after researching the different styles of discado grills, pulled the trigger on this bad daddy. I am very happy with it, although still learning how t cook with it. Why not 5 stars? Although easy to set up and take down, easy to clean, and food is great, I wish it would have come with some way to transport it easier. That, and it is a bit more expensive than other options. I do believe that this will last forever. Some other reviewers tout this as being "Made in the USA", but this is not. The original company, Texas Custom Grills, sold out. Although made abroad, I believe this is a good product, and time will tell if it holds up.

So I tried to make this product work, over and over. Don't try to fry chicken in this thing. Have tried over and over and you cannot control the temperature. Hot dogs and hamburgers not a problem. This thing acultually caughtnonnfirr tonigjt. Would not recommend n

Bought this for my dad on his birthday and he loves it. Very sturdy and durable, he cooks quite frequently with it and doesn't need to get new propane cylinders all the time.

I love the Firedisc. I have cooked several types of meals on it with great results on all, except some stuffed pork chops that were just too thick to cook this way. I love cooking at the campsite now.

I was so excited for this product. I had all my ingredients ready to go. But, product does not come with the converter that allows you to hook up to a large propane tank, so I was not able to conect it to my large tank. I did not let that stop me. I went to my local hardware store, but they didn't have a LP hose, but they had the smaller propane tanks. I purchased those and connected to my fire disk. 15 mins of running on the smaller tank.....nothing....the disk did not get hot, only luke warm. I call support....nothing....no one ever got back to me. so there my fire disk sits..in the garage....never used. Will have to get the converter hose and hope it works.
