Nice set of outdoor bluetooth speakers first and foremost. Everything else just a bonus or complimenby teddy (4 out of 5 stars)

Some people say this radio is a jack of all trades and a master of none. That isn't the case. This is first and foremost an outdoor speaker and a very good one. Its "extra" features do not take away from its main function but only add to it, and I will talk about them separately.
The Bluetooth speakers work very well. Easy to connect and sound great. My friend has a $200 set of portable Bose speakers. These speakers are extremely comparable in sound quality. They are bigger, heavier and have a smaller battery capacity but also do more and are more rugged.
The radio could have better reception but the NOAA channels are a very nice touch. These speakers are meant to supplement an off the grid adventure so it is smart to put a radio so you have music if your phone dies and NOAA so you can stay connected as well.
The flashlight is surprisingly bright. I would estimate it approaches 300 lumens, but it is mostly a spotlight, not very floody. The lens also swivels up and down to a degree which is useful. Again, this isn't a tacky add on to make the product easier to market but a practical and useful tool on something that you will be using outside and off grid.
Thermometer. adds no weight and little to no cost so, why not?
Crank charger. I have owned several products, mostly radios with crank chargers over the years. This one has by far the most comfortable grip and handle, it is easy to crank for several minutes longer than would comfortable with a crank charger on a smaller device. Also it actually makes a lot of sense to put a crank charger on something like this. Radios don't use very much power, for each minute of cranking you get about 5-10 minutes of radio. That's not a bad way to stay connected when your battery dies. I was recently on a backpacking trip when my friends portable speakers died. We love music and were extremely bummed out the battery died. If we had a crank charger on that trip, you better believe that we would definitely have taken shifts cranking away at the thing to get the party going again.
Solar panel. Okay this might be the only useless thing on here. I would estimate the solar panel can generate about one watt of power in direct sun. This is pretty measly. I guess it could be a nice touch, (hey free juice right?) but honestly I would rather my money go to a larger capacity battery. To put it into perspective, the unit needs about 6 watts of power to charge at a normal rate, so leaving it in the full sun will only charge it 1/6 as fast as plugging it into a usb port. (if you were wondering, the device draws 1.2 amps when charging from a usb port, so even relatively cheap and crappy usb charger will charge it its maximum rate, no need or point to use a quick charger). Basically I would ignore the solar panel, use the crank charger if you need to charge it in the wild.
Phone charger. This brings up my only qualm with the unit and the main reason I gave it only 4 stars. The unit's internal battery is a pathetic 1800 mah. This is the size of a small to moderate sized cell phone battery. Actually I think its exactly the size of an iphone. When you factor in the inefficiencies inherent in charging one lithium ion battery with another, this means you can fully deplete the Ivations battery to only get your iphone to about a 66% charge. I don't know about you but this doesn't make a very good power bank to me. Sure if you are in the woods and need to make an emergency call/text, your Ivation has a little juice to spare, and I guess technically you can crank away to get more, so it works for an emergency, but only in an emergency. Again a nice add on, but they could have really put a bigger battery in there. One piece of good news is that the battery compartment is actually very oversized, so you could probably fit a much larger battery in there, which despite what other reviews say you can definitely find very easily, and this is something I am looking into.
Carry handle. Very useful and practical
Red blinky emergency light. This is actually a very practical feature. Say you are fishing but decide you want to leave the speakers at your dock. Put on the blinky light and you will easily be able to find it when you return after dark. It uses very little power so you won't have to sweat over leaving it on for hours.
Alarm. It's not a radio alarm which was disappointing, just a beeping.
One last thing, the overall look is very nice. It doesn't show in the picture, but the orange one is a matte paint. Gives it a very nice look. Its not a plasticy look at all, nor does it look too practical or emergency related. The matte makes it very low key for orange. You wouldn't be shy about showing this thing off. If you brought it to a park no one would think you brought some sort of emergency radio, the antenna and crank fold away when not in use, and solar panels are totally in right now. It just looks like a nice set of speakers, which it is first and foremost.
Oh, one more gripe. No auxiliary port? Why is everything only Bluetooth these days? Sure I would rather have bluetooth (no cables) but why not both?
Too good to be true

Huge disappointment. It is a nice idea for a product, especially for my purposes, but the technology simply does not back it up. The bluetooth connection is not stable. It does not connect immediately, and when it does, it drops off. It randomly shuts off when music is playing (this happened repeatedly, it while connected to a power source, about a foot away from my laptop which was streaming the music via bluetooth). The flashlight appears to be awesome, didn't get the chance to test it in the dark and I will be returning this immediately and buying from another brand. Date/time/temp display are a great idea too, but they kept getting reset when I removed it from the power to try and figure out why the bluetooth connection was so poor.
Again, the idea of this product is phenomenal. The look of the product is great too. When I got the speakers to work for a short amount of time, they sounded pretty good. If I found the same product manufactured by a more reputable company, I would absolutely purchase it. But I will not be buying from this company again.

This has to be the best solar radio ever! Sounds good, pick ups far-away radio stations; the flash light works well, and the unit holds it's charge all day long. Haven't used the hand crank yet, but the lithium battery charges well with an AC/DC charger(borrowed from my Kindle), and /or a computer(cable comes with radio). The solar- panel augments the charge during the day- just stick radio in the window or sun. Bluetooth works great too! What a GREAT tool for homesteaders with alternate energy needs.
Not exactly what I expected

Thought the solar battery would last longer. Only way to keep it constantly charged was to plug it into a phone charger. Other than that, it sounded good, just don't expect it to play hours on end, even when you put it into the sun or keep winding it for power. I was hoping it would work when the electric would go out in the winter.

A great radio with fantastic reception (at least in my area it is). The Bluetooth was a great bonus so now I can pair my phone to it and listen on the much larger speakers. Only two minor things I don't like about it. 1: you need a screwdriver to take the battery cover off since it is screwed in place and 2: A spare battery is impossible to find, even Amazon doesn't have them.
Great summer radio

Fantastic radio with Bluetooth. Well worth the money. I have charged it with my cell phone cube charger attached to the enclosed wire, the sun and hand crank .All ways charge the battery easily. I love the color, size and weight for camping and the lake.

One of the problems I had was not knowing that there is a battery contained in the back. No need to buy batteries. The Solar charger is phenomenal. Volume is truly of boom-box quality.

I needed radio that had FM,AM,WB and had the ability to utilize WIFI and Bluetooth. Thid radio provided all I was looking for especially providing a speaker outside the car at a drive in theater. Rechargable and 3 ways to charge. Great price.
Better than I thought!!

Pretty cool radio with a lot of options. The sound quality is way better than expected. It seems pretty rugged and tunes quite well. Good for a worksite or camping.

Great for on jobs and no power needed. Recharging with solar does take a good amount of time and does not charge while in use.
