Its all metal construction allows the Hengja to be both sturdy and stylish, with no chances of it bending when even the heaviest of headphones are placed on it. The Hengja can be placed either horizontally surface (i.e. table top) or can be rotated with a hex key (not included) to fit on vertical surfaces (i.e. table leg).

Features

  • Made from high quality metal, durable and strong, capable of holding light weight to very heavy headphones without bending or breaking, making it a strong headphone stand.
  • No glue, no mess, adjustable design allowing to fit on to desks and tables of different tickness.
  • Rotable design allowing to be used on horizontal or vertical surfaces (hex/allen key tool needed, not included in package).
  • Unique and stylish, will look good in any setting be it at home, work, school or cyber café.
  • Smaller than a headphone stand, sturdier than most other comparable desk headphone hangers.

Great quality with a few design flaws.
by Vlad (3 out of 5 stars)

The build quality is excellent, no questions here, but there are two major issues with design IMHO. First of all it does not have any stopper or hook-like ending that would prevent headphones from freely sliding off this hanger. I have already dropped my headphones a dozen times just accidently touching them when I turn around on my office chair. They have another mode with double hook where this problem was addressed, don't know why did they not add this small but very important feature in this model. So my advise #1 - don't put any super expensive audiophile headphone on this hook. Not problem #2, which is somewhat related to the first one. As you can see on the phone the bolt on the outward side is quite large and extends quite a lot to the headphone facing side of the hook. This means that you have even less support space for the headband and if you have a while headband like I do, it will be extending over the end point of the hook. This means that the chances of accidentally dropping your headphones are even greater. So, as I said, great build quality but I had to put it aside after dropping my headphones multiple times.

1 5/8" or 41 mm thick at most, 1/2" or 13 mm thin at the least, requires multiple tools, but good qu
by Oesten E. Nelson (4 out of 5 stars)
July 21, 2016

I'm disappointed that the seller (Brainwavz audio) goes back and forth about the size - the maximum desk thickness it can fit according to a ruler and the unit as shipped is 1 1/8", or 28 mm, but then you can expand it to 1 5/8" or 41mm by loosening the Allen wrench bolt and sliding the metal brackets as far apart as they can go. There is no documentation that refers to this. To see them reply 1" at one point, and then 1.5" at another time makes me concerned about the quality of their support staff. Considering that the same person who answers these questions is probably the same person that handles warranty returns, I've lost some confidence that a warranty return would be processed appropriately.

It can go as thin as 1/2" or 12mm.

This does require both an Allen wrench to adjust between vertical and horizontal modes or widen the brackets, AND a flat head screwdriver to tighten the main clamp. They provide a tool with both heads, but who wants yet another tool to keep track of?

The quality does look good. This is also one of the few models that can attach to the vertical supports on a desk. There is an alternative at Cosmos ® Black Color Heavy Duty Metallic Headphone Desk Hanger Holder

Very useful for anyone with little desktop space!

Great little hanger for a headphone geek like me who has way more headphones (5 in this room) than space on my desk. The metal construction on these make them way more appealing than some of the cheaper plastic ones that are almost the same price. Once it's tightened and secured into place it doesn't move at all (unless you have it a bit loose like I do to adjust placement). This feature was also more appealing to me than the stick on ones since 1) if you don't place it in the exact spot you want it, at least you can move it, and 2) you don't have to deal with the double sided tape residue that those would leave behind. I live in a rather humid climate, so the ones that attach with double stick tape generally fall off at some point. With these guys, however, I don't need to worry about that.

Not sure what else to say about them otherwise. Great buy for an excellent price (I got mine priced at under $10 for the lightening deal).

The ONLY suggestion I have for brainwavz is that it would be nice if the tightening mechanism was a part of the hanger, like a wing nut or something along those lines. The screw device is a bit awkward to operate, and I tend to lose separate tightening devices like the one that came with this. Minor gripe though.

May Need A Guard
by Vincent (4 out of 5 stars)
November 26, 2017

First thing to note is that there is no guard for the hanger, so your headphone can potentially be knocked off it.

Depending on your headphones it may take some force to knock it off though. Tried several of my headsets/headphones and for the most part a simple hand/fist bump won't knock it completely off, but a rush across it with your body/thigh it will definitely bring it cashing down to the ground. So if you don't have it right next to you/corner where's there's feet traffic then you should be fine. If you're extra cautious about it, you can do your own DYI modifications at home with extra materials.

Setup is pretty simple, they provide you with an angled screwdriver tool for easy installation. The clamp initially has a 1inch grip, but you can expand it to 1.5inches. It's also able to rotate for vertical use. Best to measure the area you plan to put it on before purchase.

The actual holder of the headphone has a length of a little over 2 inches. If your headphones fit majority of it, you should be fine. The only time I see a problem with it is if you plan to add a home made guard to it.

Best use for wireless headphones since the wire can dangle to the ground. If you have a drawer nearby you can stick the wire there. If you want to be really organized with a wired headphones I'd purchase this also as a supplment:

ONME Multipurpose Cable Clips (6 Pcs)

Overall good, headphone desk holder, just don't put it near areas where someone can run past it

Excellent headphone hanger - Updated 4/26/18
by walstib11 (4 out of 5 stars)
April 16, 2018

Great easy to use headphone hangers. Came with a small wrench to properly adjust and mount. Perfect.

Update 4/26/18: One star off, new rating 4 star. Great hanger but I eventually bought 2" wide 1/8" thick foam tape to stick on the metal hanger. I trimmed to fit and it made my headphones more stable and less likely to slip off the end. Overall a great inexpensive hanger but needs either a lip or a no slip surface to ensure expensive headphones will not slip off. I still recommend this hanger and I ended buying 3 for my various headphones. Currently own Audio-Technica ATH-M50X, Sennheiser HD-800S and Hifiman Edition X V2. It was especially troubling with the X V2's. Metal on metal was not stable, foam tape helps.

Versatile Headphone Hanger For Your Setup
by TechV.8 (5 out of 5 stars)
January 30, 2017

Using a headphone hanger is a quick and easy way to keep your desk setup organized and you might even gain a couple of style points for it as well. This headphone hanger by Brainwavz definitely gets the job done. It's very versatile (see pictures) which helps to make it work with pretty much any desk setup and the price for it is nothing short of spectacular. The real benefit of using a headphone hanger over a headphone stand is that you get to clear up some space on your desk while also having your "cans" within reach.

The only drawback to this product would have to be that it doesn't have a lip at the end of it which can help prevent your headphones from sliding off. This hasn't been an issue for me, personally, so I did not mark down a star for it but it might be something to consider depending on the dimensions of your headphones.

This is a very handy product and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an efficient way to store your favorite pair of cans!

Nice unit; small nits
by bobatious (4 out of 5 stars)
April 4, 2018

Really well put together unit, with various minor quirks. The construction overall is very good; looks good and works well.

Nit #1 is that the circular pad fastening the unit to your desk or the like is bare metal. There ought to be some kind of soft interface or non-marring interstitial material to prevent damage to wood or other items. I added something along this line, but it ought to be provided.

Nit #2 is that the two "fasteners" -- one for changing orientation, the other for fastening -- are different, and the one most used is a slot. It would be much better in every way for both of these to use the Allen head style as in the "orientation" fastener.

HOWEVER once installed with workarounds for these nits, the unit is very effective and also looks good.

Great little thing to have

If you're looking for a clamp-style headphone holder for *temporary* storage/hanging, you really can't go wrong with these. For long-term storage, though, or if your cans are particularly heavy, I'd suggest going with a head/U-shaped headphone stand to keep all pressure off the headband.

That clamp itself is perfectly adequate, even considering it doesn't have much grip. So long as you really tighten the clamp, though, it will work fine, as seen in the photo where I have it mounted vertically on the headboard of the bed. On a related note, it's GREAT for storing headphones by the bed if, like me, you like to hop in bed early some nights and just listen to music for a while. Since adding the clamp I've been listening to music a lot more just because they're right there at-hand, so that's been an unexpected bonus. I also have one on my desk, preferring to have the headphones out of the way and secure rather than just lying on the desk or, as I've seen some people do horrifically, hang the headphones on the monitor itself with the ear pads touching the screen (please don't do this - oils from your head/neck/hair will be transferred to your display, and displays don't like oil).

The placement of the protruding bolt (pictured) isn't really ideal, but I haven't had any real problems with it. That said, if you have a particularly wide headphone band this might be an issue.

All-in-all I can highly recommend this mount.

NOTE: If you buy this and find it doesn't expand wide enough to clamp, please be aware that all you have to do is loosen the aforementioned bolt and it will expand further. I didn't realize this initially and felt limited in what I could clamp to, but after loosening that bolt I gained considerably more space.

It's a good product. But it could be much better...
by Nathan Stewart (3 out of 5 stars)

So first off, I want to say that this is a good product and I'm generally happy with my purchase. I think the pricing is fair and competitive with other similar products out there on the market. However, I do have to agree with some of the other reviews, when they pointed out that there should be some sort of stopper or edge/ridge on the end to stop my expensive headphones from easily sliding off or getting bumped off the mount when the desk shakes or something.. That wouldn't be hard for them to add to this product. Also, I do think that they could do better by adding some sort of padding to the surface of the screw thing. The silver screw with a flat circle on top, is the thing that makes it tighten and attach to the desk. Whatever that thing is called... I think that they could easily add some nice rubber padding to that thing like I did, to protect my desk from scratches and/or dents from this mount being attached so tight. The manufacturer put some padding on the black piece that sits on top of the desk, so why not use the same padding on the silver piece that touches the bottom of the desk? I had to cut a small piece of thin rubber to put in between the screw thing and the bottom of my desk due to this factor. Anyways, I will say that that materials they used to make this product seem to be pretty nice. And it seems to be well made. I like the texture of the black metal. It feels premium, like a macbook or something. So I do recommend getting this product if you're on the fence; especially considering the price being like $12-15 (can't remember exactly, but I don't want them to raise the price and make my review out of context). But I do think that the manufacturer could make those adjustments to make this product better (the stopper on the end to prevent the headphones from slipping off, and the padding on the surface of the screw thing). If you're reading this and happen to work for this company. I wouldn't mind you using my ideas to make this product better, as long as you send me one of the new ones with these updated features. Thanks.

No Brainer

The product arrives in impressive packaging, and on inspection looks like you have just received a scientific precision piece of equipment. It works exactly as it should. In my case it was mountable just using bare hands, there is an accompanying hexagonal wrench/screwdriver which makes the job very simple.

The hexagonal wrench end allows you to do some micro-adjustments should you decide to alter the hanging.

It can park, in my case only 1 Headphone.

I would have liked to pay lower than $13, but then I could have chosen not to buy it, so that the price drives down.

Suggestion for the Product: The clamp could include some padding to decrease the chances of marring furniture permanently.

The hanging ledge on which you hang the headphone, should have an outer raised edge to prevent the Head phone to slip off its hanger, should you be using this Desk Hanger in turbulent North seas aboard a Lobster fishing trawler.
